Indeed, that final act was way too fast, contrived for the sake of plot advancement. I can only wonder though, why would Godfrey change his opinion on The Reach now? What does he have to gain by opposing them now, but not earlier? And how in the world is the Reach covering up the Justice League's involvment with the War World? Are people simply buying what they're saying without evidence? You'd think there would at least be some video evidence between Earth's Satellites and the Justice Leagues ships.

The only JL ship seems to be Miss Martian's, didn't the rest of them just fight out in the
! The ammount of Apokolips tech that The Light has (specialy this chapter) makes me think that they are allied with GGG, if he is trully his Comic's identity. Also he could trully be an honest anoying reporter, he never has accused the league of something that they didn't do, just being judgmental and forcing them into a bad light.
! The Light seems to be going to cut out their deals with the reach. -
Was I the only one thinking "Oh, look, they're throwing the shippers a bone" during the scene where Nightwing and Miss Martian are comforting each other? Anyway, dumb pandering aside, the plot moved ahead a bit more, so that's good. It's too bad Godfrey was the one to expose the Reach's lie on TV, but at least someone did. Man, did I love the look on the Ambassador's face when he was getting chastised by Godfrey. The League (especially Captain Atom) needs to get in on some of that action, especially since he's the one that the Ambassador kept making a fool out of.
As for Nightwing giving Arsenal the boot: he deserved it. Like Nightwing said, it wasn't the first time that Arsenal jeopardized the team's safety in favor of his own/for revenge for being on ice for 8 years. Hell, if I'm recalling correctly, the reason that Beetle turned traitor was all because of him! If he hadn't started blowing shit up during the covert mission to that Reach facility, then they wouldn't have run into Green Beetle and Blue Beetle would probably still be on their side. Obviously if the runaways knew that, they wouldn't have been so quick to side with Arsenal, just like Arsenal wouldn't have gone with them if he knew that Luthor (I hate how they pronounce his name on this show, by the way) was their benefactor.
Anyway, three more episodes left. I hope the Leaguers who are away come back before the show ends and that we don't see the runaways again…

Nightwing chose an awful time to kick arsenal off the team.

I was under the impression that BB turning heel was more so Impulse's fault given how it set Jamie eventually on that path in the present. Though ironically Impulse telling Jamie his future may have been how Jamie turned evil in Impulse's timeline to start with. Plus if Green Beetle hadn't shown up I'm guessing the Reach captures Jamie again and reboots his Scarab killing him which is what they tried to do before.

It probably would have happened during the next time skip anyway.

@moe:
Nightwing chose an awful time to kick arsenal off the team.
Yeah, I guess its cus the writers wanted him to team up with the new hero team, but it sure made Nightwing look like an unprofessional DICK to fire him right there in front of the newbies.
-
He had to do it in front of the team, Arsenal pushed the point first, talking as if he was a big damn hero and not just a security risk. Nightwing HAD to do something right there and then.

He saved not only the team but the outsiders as well. You can say what you want about how things might have turned out had he not opened the airlock but remember at that point the scarab was in control of BB and we remember what BlackB did to them a ways back… It's not going out on a limb to say that be would have wiped the floor with the entire team.
Arsenal was still dead wrong but SOME respect should have been shown not a insincere thanks now gtfo.
-
He was given the respect, he chose to parade it in front of the hard working part of the team, and deserved to be punished right there and then.

I still think Nightwing was right in his decision, I mean the guy just wasn't a team player and the team really does function on teamwork, a concept that was driven home in season one. Say what you will but its better to treat the festering wound before it becomes a full blown disease. Although it would have helped if Nightwing would have called him out on the issue before not staying quiet and possibly enabling Roy's behavior.
-
Putting a guy with PTSD and extreme paranoia on a combat team wasn't the best of ideas in the first place though. What did they expect to happen?
-
He was on the heavy hitters team, probably they needed the firepower.
That's about the Mongul fight, in general, I don't know, maybe he apareared emotionaly functional after getting the arm, or they wanted to keep him close for safety reasons.

Well If he comes back with a blood lust and blows ups the entire team in their new base I guess Nightwing in his last minutes will recognize that it was a bad decision.
-
Yes, it was a very bad decision to kick the traumatized liability who will abandon you when things go south off the team. Come on.
Plus, it's not really in Arsenal's nature (as far as I know) to go psycho and kill everyone just because he got kicked off the team. He might have issues, but he's still a hero; a hero who's probably better off working on his own, though…

You can't call him a tramatized kid, a liability and someone who will abandon you when things go south and then in the next sentence call him a hero. You just can't get away with that.
-
I meant his values are clearly on the side of justice, he's just not suited to work with a team. Him being kicked off the team won't make him go off the deep end and slaughter his former teammates, as you suggested…

Well I think they might've noticed that if Black Canary had been on shrink duty.

Yeah just like the clone did only more self destructive.
-
I know the decision was neeeded but the way Nightwing vhose the timing for was terrible n made yim look like a dick. But Arsenal's reasons are legit. The fude wakes up and he's been cloned and replaced, lost an arm, n missed 8 years of his life. But I blame Bumble Bee.

It's kind of hard to agree with Arsenal's actions under any circumstances what happened at Luthor's farming facility was just incredibly stupid and unnecessary. Whereas what happened on Warwold was just outright reckless.

Putting Arsenal on a stealth team and sending said team into a LexCorp facility in the first place was incredibly stupid and unnecessary.
-
We'll yeah especially after what happened with Arsenal going out of his way to tag and bag Luthor back in "Sastisfaction" but I'm guessing someone thought Arsenal didn't still have hurt feelings towards Luthor especially after Luthor gave him that "handout".
-

yes, he will think: "Oh, I was wrong to take the maniac who killed us out of the team, if he was still with us, he would have trown out of an airlock again, that at least would have been painless"
-
The new episode was good, but it was another case of an episode that could have been better if this season were longer. Foreshadowing the temple, having an aura of mystery surrounding it, occasional glances of league members decoding it in secret, all would have been nice. Still, good episode.
-

All they have to do is shove him in a narrow space with ice cubes problem solved.
-
Most. Satisfying. episode. yet.
-
Pretty awesome episode for being almost entirely a bottle episode.
-
Can't ask for more from an episode that good.
-
This episode made me want to say fuck you whoever made the call to cancel this show. Tears of joy
-
Aside from the godawful quality that I had to watch it in (I'm talking stalling and lagging, in addition to the low quality picture), this episode was fantastic. Hopefully there'll be a version online later today that's actually watchable, so I can experience it properly…
-
I'm with Mugen, even the choppy and lagged episode was glorious.
Let's see what happens in the SERIES FINALE.
I hope that another great animated DC crops up soon.
-
Given how CN hates giving most of their own shows more than 2 seasons I don't know about that myself.
-
I can see how an expensive show like the young justice can get cancelled after 2 seasons, it could stay for four but i would expect that the budget for wach episode would be significantly lower to pay for the extra seasons. It's too bad (capitalism & profit) but that's the name of the game. When one quiality show dissapears another one takes it's place, most likely axe cop this time around.
Dan Vs. is also on it's season finale. But the finale looks like it is going to kick some MAJOR ASS, finally deck the black beetle
-
@bartholemew:

I sure hope so, that guy's had it coming for a long time…
-
I think that the Light will give the war world to Apokolips, and that would have been season 3.
-
I watched Summit and I liked the episode though hated how Superboy practically got no love especially when Wally referenced the Cadmus incident which introduced Connor.
-
Not. even. fair.
*throws remote at tv
-
Ended on a cliffhanger…typical.
-
While I know its not true, the commercial said new episodes next week lol.
-
So…
! nice call maxterdexter
! Should've saw Wally's end coming. He was screwed in the new 52, should've expected something similar here. And he had all of the "he's just one day from retiring tropes" around his neck too. I did flip though when Impulse was in Kid Flash's costume thinking he was a ghost or something. Wonder if Wally would've been brought back somehow.Hard to call the ending really satisfying though. Other than the big scene spoilered with a certain character, the rest felt rushed. None of the other character moments felt earned or had a big impact, probably because they were trying to resolve the a couple dozen plotlines in the episode and give a "resolution" for most of the team. Even those that probably might have had a bigger impact because they were built up only had like 2 seconds of screentime for resolution, not to mention all the stuff set up in just this episode in order to reach their respective concluding scenes.
Still, despite the drop in character building this season when compared to last, it was still fairly solid. Really was just a case of too many characters/plot. Not enough time.
-
no one has a link to it? I'm tearing my hair waiting for my usual sources.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Animeflavor has it already.
Cool end of season, lame end of series. I wanted to see if the light would have recruited new members to substitute Black Manta and the Brain. And how things would go from here.
-
Eh, the next season would have just jumped ahead another 5 years, reshuffled the cast and not answered any of these questions till the 10th episode anyway.
-
The only bad thing being the abandonement of old members of the team. What kind of series sets up misteries to the next season and blows all the load in the first chapter?
-
! Freaking ending!
Freaking Apokolips!
FREAKING DARKSEID.
FREAKING CARTOON NETWORK!
Godfrey was there! I knew he'd be an Apokolitian lackey! Also Desaad!
I bet, if the show could've continued, we would've seen Mr. Miracle, Big Barda and Orion…
Aw, man! -
Yeah yeah yeah naysay all you want but it can't hurt to TRY
-
Signed, not that it will help.

Yeah yeah yeah naysay all you want but it can't hurt to TRY
Why the FUCK do these things need my home address?!

Man that ending…..
Fuck Cartoon Network to no end.

Man that ending…..

Put some of the blame where the blame where its due.
Blame the SHOW CREATORS who decided to end on a cliffhanger.
Weisman's been in this game for a couple decades… HE KNOWS BETTER. It's nice to be optimistic and think your show is going to run for years and years and multiple spinoffs, but... You don't do a season finale with promises you don't know you can keep. Especially with his track record of a two-season curse.
It's one thing to have loose ends to come back to and have not resolved every single last thing, (though you better hit the main stuff at least!) it keeps the world bigger than the length of the series. But... Cliffhangers don't guarantee the audience is interested and will come back the next year... they just mean your show ends in a cliffhanger.
The Paul Dini/Bruce Tim era ran through multiple shows for 15 years, and they NEVER ended on a cliffhanger. Hell, even the Simpsons has only done it once, and they were guaranteed the next three seasons at the time, their follow up episode was actually still part of the same season just with a delay, and they made a huge event out of it.
(You can break this rule a little more in live action where they actually DO know they're returning to the next season almost immediatley, but animation with its super lengthy production time should know better.)
The only thing worse is when shows schedule giant arcs with goals like "collect all these specific treasures to beat the bad guy" like Pirates of Dark Water or the New Thundercats and the series end up blatantly stopping in the middle.
(Somehow Reboot never learned this lesson, even though they were cancelled after seasons 2, 3 AND 4....)
