You know, I wonder if people like Zoom who defend Bleach realize that you can "like" something and still acknowledge it as not being high quality in terms of design. And vice-versa.
I mean I classify Battle Royale as a entertaining comic book, but it still isn't high quality.

I like Gundam Seed (pre-Destiny) but still recognize it's pretty much recycled stuff, girly men, and beam spam. Destiny on the other hand, I just couldn't stomach. So Seed, especially Destiny, is easily the worst of the Gundam series. And yet, I liked it pre-Destiny.
Bleach I like for mindless and easy reads. Also for its sheer mockability. It's a brilliant target for mockery. And when it gets to battles that aren't "Aizen pwns all, possibly even offscreen", it's entertaining. However, like Seed, it's garbage in terms of quality. Yet it entertains.

In occurrence with the latest events involving Kubo and this last chapter that is probably the shittiest end to a character in this entire series, even worse than how Tousen went out… well, I have finally given up hope for this getting any better. It's clearly obvious now that Kubo has no intentions of stepping up his game because he thinks what he is doing is good.
I will also finally say that Naruto is better than Bleach. It sucks too, but at least the story's been going a little better.
So yeah, I stomached other let downs in this series before, but I think Gin was the final straw. Although I do expect Orihime to revive a ton of people later, so we'll see what happens.

I know most of the Espada were based off of animals or insects, but of all the things Kubo could have picked… It's like he thought "Dahhh, what's go best with the theme of evolution?" and then he looked at his pokemon game and saw a Caterpie and came up with the brilliant idea of using a butterfly. There's tons of animals out there that would fit the theme of evolution better than a butterfly.

The thing that Zoom guy was talking about Aizen being an angel or something of "heavenly proportion" would have worked better, because he is truly "surpassing" humanity. Aizen's design was cool before, so Kubo could have made an angel work if he did it in a way that didn't look gay. But now Aizen's just a joke.
I mean, despite how fierce his presence would feel, would you seriously be able to not crack a smirk when this thing was threatening you?

Iceborg is right! Don't go hating on the series that you've only read a chapter of! You can't understand its glory! Its BRILLIANCE! Bleach is a masterpiece, but everyone around here is too busy sipping on haterade.

I don't really consider the series canon up to a point. I tend to pretend the last few months especially are horribly written fan fiction. I'm pretty much in the "was a hardcore fan but am now reading it to the bitter end with tiredness and sadness" camp. It's as bad as Fairytail.

@Metamario: I count up to volume 26 as canon, then interweave the Bleach 3rd phantom game story with that. It's got so bad I'm even tempted to watch the Bleach filler anime (and I rarely watch the anime) to see if I can consider that more canon than the shite Kubo is allowed to currently make money from.
I just count my stars that I have decent and beyond great manga series like OP to look forward to this week. Also games like God of War, Kingdom Hearts 2, Final Fantasy and FF10 lol. Not to get off topic there, as I was making a point about Blech.

It's sad that the anime filler (like: zanpakutou arc) is better than the current mess that is Bleach.

Oh Kubo can make it worse, he does so each week already. It would be fine if this was gag amnga because stupid things are meant to happen in such manga. However fans shouldn't have to see a series decay like this. Hell I feel so strongly about it I have no intention of putting any of my Bleach manga on a bookshelf in my gf's room.

I have an idea for a little game. We all know for a fact that we could write at this point in time a better Bleach than Kubo can, and we have probably been able to do so for a long time now. We know where the series roughly starts to get bad, or at best mediocre. This differs between posters, but what would people here have happened to make the series better?
My turn.
1. No "Zeroth espada"
2. No whole battles for later fraccion, on the grounds that those crappy battles stole time from the real espada, i.e. Stark and Lilynette, Barangan (sp?) and Halibel.
3. Either Shinji or Urahara and/or Yoruichi take out Aizen.
4. Gin beats Aizen, in doing a heroic heel face turn (but succeeds) or kills Aizen just for the lulz then reveals himself as the real mastermind.

I have a few ideas.
1. Give your protagonist more than 1 attack and more variation to it than turning the color of the attack from blue to black.
2. Less whining and screaming from the protagonist's love interest.
3. Less emphasis on the character's clothing and more focus on the plot.
4. Stop introducing forgettable characters with extremely hard names to remember. Who were all those fraccion and former Espada they beat in the initial invasion of Hueco Mundo?
5. Revert Aizen back to his old form and take out the hax that is the Hougyoku.
