At first glance , it looks like every other movie of it's type nowadays, over spice on CG, cookie cutter rock music, boom pow action scenes but trailers are poor examples of what a movie can be really like, so i'll check out some more stuff for it. I said potential for greatest, since the original is one of my top 10 favorite movies of all time. I won't judge anything until I see it since trailers are awful now and usually have nothing to do with the movie.
I love the claymation as much as anyone, but the whole archer Medusa scene is way outdated, can't wait for a cg version. The Kraken and giant condor who flew Andromeda's cage still look great though. I wonder if it'll still have the mechanical owl. Even though it had no basis in any myth I have read, I love Bubo.

Yeah, I'm not too fond of this remake. I used to watch it all the time on TV and absolutely loved it, and still do. The stop-motion is basically what made the movie and they're going to replace it with CGI :sad: . Plus, the summaries I've read make it seem like a completely different movie.

Yeah, what the hell guys, the movie looks great. I love the designs. Looks better than 300 or… Beowulf. And, yeah, back when I saw the first trailer I totally made the God of War connection too.
Just watched the tailor and it looks like a cool movie. Problem is it doesn't look like CotT, it looks like a God of War movie like others have said. And I'm kind of sad that they're using CGI instead of Stop-Motion.

As soon as I saw the giant scorpion in the trailer in the previews for Avatar last night, the name Ray Harryhausen popped in mind. I was glad to be right! It looks pretty interesting on a first trailer, and it comes out in a couple of months too. Not too long of a wait at all. I, for one, am excited. Though I can understand people and their gripes with the new CG and favoring stop motion. But it's the movie that counts here. If they do a good job showing the scale of such an epic tale, and bring you through the journey then I will have been satisfied.
Kind of reminds me of a King Kong sort of deal. I for one thought the new one did a pretty good job and it took a different route in showing it all. However, the original was just so much of an awesome adventure that the 2005 one just can't quite get there.

Anybody have thoughts on this movie? I've seen some mixed reviews, and I don't expect much, but my dad wants to try out the 3D "experience" since he has never been to one before. Admittedly this is probably not the best movie for it, but he wants to see a good "action" movie. PS: I'm aware it hasn't been released yet…

man i really hope the whole movie isn't like that. its like the new video games these days, too damn dark. and ha, they have the main guy look like all video game shooter guys too, the buzz cut buff guy. isn't usually in that time period and all greek mythology typically the hero guys have like long hair.

well if god of war movie does come out, people will all be thinking its some cheap knock off of this movie. funny how many think this movie is a knock off of god of war when this is a remake of a 1980's or something movie and is based on actual greek mythology stores and not just some made up kratos guy and fighting all of olympia and the titans.
gotta love peoples ignorance. heck i think i heard people bitchign about some game developers ripping off god of war fame by making a game that is called "war of the gods" or something like that. and the game is based on a book or something with that name. before you call rip-off make sure the one your thinking is the true one is not itself a rip-off of it or something else.
I'm rather impressed with the Titans from the trailer. I expected them too look rather oldschool. (jason & the argonauts old) Luckily this isn't the case.
Hopefully the plot will be as good as the action, though perhaps the graffics/titans will overshadow everything else?

THere is only ONE ever mentioned that is black and that is when they are using it. If the main character or villian doesn't have a black pegasus, then their colors are never mentioned, they could be black, brown, gray, white we don't know. But when its a BLACK pegasus they make a big deal out of it like its the only black one in existance and supposed to make it super badass or something.
Honestly… I saw the black/dark pegasus and it didn't even click ONE bit that they had changed it.

anyway saw the movie tonight and its good, not amazing, seems kind of short. only hour 45 or something
the 3d is nothing special and i feel hurts the movie, it gets dizzy/blurry and hard to tell whats going on during the action scenes that are moving fast. there were a few cool things in 3d, but overal a dissapointment for my first 3d experience.

! the overal story is pretty much same in that the princess is going to be sacrifised in a certain time to the kraken, and persius goes out fights giant scorpion, medusa, and kraken. but otherwise lots of little changes here and there about who is who exactly and so on, like for example calibos is persius mom's husband. in old movie the king sent his daughter who zues knocked up into the sea to die, while in new movie it is his wife instead. you know little things like that, that don't really matter unless you really care about teh true lineage of it all.
