well maybe whitebeard is finally gonna step down and let the new generation lead. it was said by sengoku that wb wanted to make ace pirate king. so i can see now when seeing luffy as well he is thinking that as long as he gets luffy and ace out of there he is content.
his time is over, hell he is like grandpa age. Shanks is at least only dad age.
I feel whitebeard is gonna die for this war but save everyone else name worthy. At least Joz, so Zoro can beat him. (just for cutting diamond sake, unless mihawk beast him for oda to show us his and zoro's gap. and has zoro do some other feat) who knows about marco anymore. I did think only whitbeard die, but now possibly marco (though can he?) aswell. But again i feel like marco and joz will still be there and be under ace's command.
But if whitebeard dies then everyone will be moving again to make a name for themselves and get rule over new world. Also the fact that luffy now will be the target of everyone. Every pirate will want to be the one that beat luffy. the pirate who beat 2 shichi, destroyed enies lobby, escapped impel down, broke into impel down, joined war and did whatever there, and is the son of Dragon. You know there is gonna be a ton of people wanting a peice of that. best of luck to you luffy. And sorry rest of crew, luffy just made your life a living hell.

yea i have been curious to how iva was soo damn famous. I mean how long has he been in impel down, and dragon was basically a new face and sort of a nobody still back what only 10 years ago.
yet it seems everyone one even lowly marines are like "OMG its the revolutionary iva'san or the scissor guy when he was up and fighting" now he is still laying in bed on the ship right, lol.
i wonder where he is, or did they put him back in bed after the ship fell?
edit: and based on the number of people in impel down 5.5 it would take quite some time for all those people to get there without raising suspicion by the gailors. Though of course many i'm sure where there before iva found it. But still he had to work his way into turning them into tranny's. Not everyone is so quick to convert to being a tranny unlike our friend Sanji, lol.

yeah, six years prior to the current situation, Dragon & his revolutionary army were not considered a real threat to the World Govt… sometime within those six years, Iva was imprisoned in Impel Down for who knows how long. it's a bit of a mystery how Iva got such a huge reputation... but hopefully Oda will explain later on.

He's strong, yeah. But I don't think he's as strong as the Admirals, to be quite honest. But this is all conjecture. We really haven't seen Marco fight anyone 1 on 1, but only deflect attacks that were thrown at Whitebeard, so its too early to say anything. I do agree though, he is one hell of a bodyguard for Luffy. My guess is that when Luffy runs after to save Ace and he encounters an Admiral (or someone of similar level), Marco will step in and fight in his place. My guess is that it seems Akainu might be the one the steps in the way of Luffy and the execution stand since Luffy already has a history with both Kizaru and AoKiji.
For some reason, given the reaction from DoFlamingo in this chapter, I can't help but have the feeling that we'll end up seeing them cross paths at some point in this war. Then again, the same can be said with Kuma or Smoker.

Nope. He had to go out of it, becuase Jet wasn't in the attack name. We also know that his attack against Moria was called Jet Shell, not Gigant Shell, or Jet Gigant Shell, so at least for that attack Jet superceded Gigant. But what we do know is that every attack in gear 2nd so far has ben preceded by the word Jet, so no.

Turned out to be a great chapter, I was afraid it might have been reactions and alot of talk about luffy vs ace. Not that it would have been bad, but a page or 2 with ace asking him to leave is enough.
That said I'm starting to wonder whether Dragon will be launching offensive against alot of countries serving his purpose better than attacking marines. His biggest opposition being WG ground troops not the navy. Regardless of that I think he might still decide to show up with a small squad in marine HQ just for the sake of it :P

I think Oda made the zombies like that because "mummy" skin, bandages, and stitches are comical, and just using normal dead bodies would be too morbid for his type of manga.

well i think he knew stopping oars is something he couldn't do. No that is was impossible, just that Oars would rather be dead than stopped by whitebeard. And he yelled for his men to cover or whip his ass. But Oars is like a, well no need to compare. Oars is f*ing huge, as long as you are aiming forward you WILL hit him. So he is gonna take massive damage charging like that. And then 3 shichi all attack at once agains thim basically.
Its a bit easier protecting Luffy. But right now it almost seems like whitebeard is trying to save ace and luffy, while letting luffy do what he wants. He took a liking if i say so myself to luffy. Plus being a brother to one of his sons, makes him like family too. And since he seems ot want to make ace pirate king, i'm sure he wants to keep his brother alive because of how much it seems like ace cars about luffy. He was always talking about luffy with everyone he met.

well i have to say to some of your points. first moria's zombies pretty sure are form this war, just Oda like making zombies look zombiey, so we know they are zombies and they are cool. i doubt he buried bodies in the groudn before it started.
ace's speech was like half a chapter, nothing to bitch about. And basically it was something luffy had already told us. THey are on their own adventure and you shouldn't barge in and save him. Its his life and he chose his own path. And he doesn't want luffy to die. Wasn't overplayed, just stated basically.
And the reaction shots while we have been getting a lot due to announcement of roger/ace, luffy/dragon, luffy showing up, and others it has been shots spread out through the chapter of action still happening. I mean hell lufy was going gear 3rd and then punching a giant when others were going OMG. So its not like it has slowed it down. I mean thank god we don't have like a whole chapter for reaction shots, because each 50 people there of importance, (or that have names) want to get a speech bubble or thought bubble about the news.

yea that is true, that is one thing i'm curious about though. he is stating how he has a battlefield of courpses to use. but he can't steal shadows or the user dies and shadow goes away.
so he must have someway of holding on to them. maybe he has 100 or something in his body. Being a shadow master, he may be able to do it without the huge affect it had on luffy.
or he has them stuck is shadow, or who knows. he somehow has shadows for disposal though, or else he couldnt' make any more zombies than the number he came with. you know if htey lose, take shadow out and put in new, or if purified grab it and shove in new or same, whatever.

After seeing Brooks new cover page as well as the last anime episode, I finally realized that everything in between is skipped completely. I can't imagine brooke would have not gone off to save that girl. It seems he already has and they are all thanking him for it.
What I read was "Brookes lodgings and panties repayment". I guess that means he saved the girl. And Oda fills the anime team in on the middle.But at the same time the guy on the right looks nervous. So maybe he is like "hurry satan, go save the girl!" I just can't imagine Brooke writing music when there is still danger at hand.
Chapter was absolutely awesome. I like that Luffy got knowcked around a bit, and did Moria basicly confirm that Oars was dead? and obviously people have been dying, but I wish we could have seen that polar bear looking thing when it was alive. But come on, the sentaur? That has to be Hogbacks work all the way, if it was a fruit user he would no longer have his horse body I assume, and all those arms. Unless Hogback is super speedily repairing people like Franky can build things.
EDIT: now that I think about it, he could be writing music in exchange for the girl. Maybe he knows something about the long ar tribe and knows they have some affiliation with music(if they do) and he is going to trade a piece for the girl.

Well with script and scanslation out: my only real dissapointment was the bad usage of Hina, but other than that it was great stuff. Garp's line about "labels don't matter anymore" definitely is the best line of the whole chapter: Luffy's gained such infamy now and has done so much that being even Dragon's son means nothing considering he's a wanted criminal that every person in the Govt (not Hancock) will be after now.
Though I do want to hear more about Ivankov and Kuma's former relations.

well luffy still has that problem of logias to deal with. so until he figures that out Ace wins for sure. Otherwise if luffy could right now hit logias, who knows. I would still say no. I mean blackbeard vs. Ace seemed like Oda made it look like it was basically a draw except BB wins barely.
And Luffy can't beat BB right now i don't htink from how it was shown in impel down. So either way i still think Ace wins
I have a feeling Blackbeard had some other tricks up his sleeve. What you said about Luffy not being able to beat Ace until he can hit a Logia applies to Ace/BB as well. Until Ace can hit a Logia it's hard to believe he can beat one that DOES have the ability to hit Logias. The only thing that might fck that up is Blackbeards weird conceptual Logia.

Well, I suppose it is about time that Kuma lives up to his most obedient reputation and show his old acquaintance little mercy. 'spose we'll see what comes of that in the future. It's kind of good to see some of the Marines actually injuring Luffy, as their performace hasn't been all that impressive so far. We'll see if this big plan of Sengoku's shifts the tide a bit.

This chapter was even better than the last. It's laughable how people were saying that Luffy would enter the war and just get beaten up. Obviously WB would protect him.
The chances of Kuma being an ex-revolutionary have just shot up. I can't wait to see what part Dragon will play in the manga.
It's a matter of time until Whitebeard goes all out now that the war is getting even more intense.

One detail that I find funny is that Jimbei just casually knows that Moria's zombies have a weakness to salt. First Moria "knows about" Kuma's power and now this. It seems the shichibukai know each other better then some would have thought.

Well Moria and Jinbei were both new world pirates. Kuma I'd assume as well. They may well have fought each other in the past.

I thought that was just a Pacifista. That would explain why he shot at Ivankov. And why he's saying absolutely nothing. If he says only names next time, that would confirm it.
