This one does seem… interesting. I don't know what else to say, other than i was more looking forward to it when we only had one or two concept art pics then now, because it was so more... gothic back then. Now it pretty much looks like a generic 3-d platform game, but still... blargh.
I'll try it out when it comes out.
While I loved the concept art I could never actually see HOW it could work as a game.
Although I hope we'll see some things like the Seven Dwarf Tanks and the Monstro + Disney Rides in it. Doubtful tho…
While browsing on Gamefaqs I found some Epic Mickey gameplay videos:

Game looks very fun.
Ah, I learned about this game from the Angry Video Game Nerd's E3 video and the "black and white cartoon" level is what caught my attention. I wonder if there's even a slight chance that this game will be ported for PC? Mnah, Xbox360 and PS3 ports sound way more realistic.
So I guess that's the future, huh?
"WANNA PLAY A GAME, KIDDO?"
"WOAH, SURE!"
"THEN BUY A CONSOLE, MOTHERFUCKER! SPEND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON IT AND WHEN A BETTER ONE COMES OUT THE NEXT DAY, FEEL UTTERLY DISAPPOINTED."
… How has this not always been the case?

lol @ a PC gamer saying this.
Wait.. so MiniLuffy is a PC elitist gamer now?
Who'd have thought.
I admit, PC gamers save a lot more buying games.. but building rigs and shit? Graphics cards etc.? Might as well throw all your fucking money down the sewer..
lol @ a PC gamer saying this.
sooooo lol.
fuck tha console companies for making $300 consoles (that are guaranteed to play any game made for the system) every five years! take me back to the good old days when u had to buy/upgrade your rig for $1500 every six months in order to be able to play the newest game! oh and if you upgrade windows you can't play your old games, WOMP WOMP
Wow, I was expecting more "LOL CONSOLE GAMING" agreements.
I don't know. I'm just used to people laughing at my usage of consoles and my computer that runs on shit and hamsters.
There are plenty of things I don't like about console gaming, like the proliferation of incredibly lazy game design, and the lack of an ability to use mouse+keyboard. But the absolute best things are the price, reliability and ease of use, so criticizing those facets is like saying you would rather eat filet mignon than hamburgers because fast food is too expensive.
While I don't agree with the removal, I like his explanation behind the decision unlike Sucker Punch caving into Infamous's fanbase regarding Cole's new design.
That's because it was shit, changed the whole point of the first game, and was done with little reason.
Epic Mickey wasn't a sequel so it wasn't losing anything.
Thankfully, yeah. I wasn't too fond of Ricky Rat.
I really don't like this change, oh well :getlost:

If you build a good enough rig it can last for years. What else? Not only do PC gamers save a lot more buying games (they do, obviously), but it's usually far easier to pirate them as well. Not to mention that in terms of functionality, the PC is far superior, no matter what the viewpoint. Well, I can't say that consoles don't have their advantages either, but they're not perfect and I don't think they're near perfection. But it doesn't matter. Seeing all these exclusive for x console games is making me think that arguing on this matter becomes more pointless with each second. People like me will have to deal with it.
MiniLuffy's a PC gamer and comes with the stereotypical attitude.
How am I not surprised.

Stereotypical or not, isn't that how things are? But not quite anyway, when I buy a console I'm sure I'll love it, it's the fact that I pretty much have to acquire one which disappoints me.
it's usually far easier to pirate them as well.
miniluffy wonders why more console games don't get released on the PC.

Yes, well, I was defending the PC from a pirate gamer's point of view. :)
Anyway, it's foolish to think that consoles are safe from piracy. It's everywhere and it's here to stay, whether you like it or not. In fact, the PS3 is fairly close to being hacked (have you heard about the new method that's flying through the internet right now?). It's still only speculation so far about whether this will actually work or not, but I think we're close.
Anyway, I still think that's a dumbass reason to release games "exclusively". If someone enjoys a game and wants to support his favorite developer, he'll buy the game, of course, nothing would stop him.

I know of all these methods but you're forgetting the important thing. They generally require effort to actually get custom firmware up and running, having to be careful not to download new firmware, etc, etc. This new ps3 version costs over £100.
On the PC it's as simple as downloading a file. That's it, job done.
If a developer releases a game for a pc as well as consoles, he runs the risk of people who would have bought the console version just downloading the pc version for free.
PC gaming is a dying market because of piracy & publishers intrusive methods for preventing piracy(apart from the mmo stuff that kinda requires the always-connected intrusiveness anyway).
Yeah, you have a point.
However, these "attempts" (so to speak) at hacking PS3 will soon go under Sony's skin and may influence their sales. People may buy more consoles, yes, but it's clear that it's not the console that's earning Sony money, but the games themselves. Furthermore, if this really works, Sony may have to disable USB and imagine how many people will be pissed off by that.
No matter what, it'll definitely leave a mark.
Even though I shouldn't set my expectations high, you never know what might happen.
And anyway, forget about this, we're derailing the topic.
And anyway, forget about this, we're derailing the topic.
PC vs. console arguments are pretty fag anyway.
This is the sort of game I may consider buying solely on the reason that the music score is going to be amazing.
I have also missed the fantasia side of Mickey Mouse, and I'm really hoping it can meet this standard, although I'm pretty doubtful of it.
Special Edition, everybody!
It comes with:
The game,
A bonus disc with behind the scenes info,

I'm contemplating on buying this even though I have no wii.
That's because it was shit, changed the whole point of the first game
I don't know if it mattered that much to the first game or not, personally I thought that most of the character designs from Infamous 1 looked like shit but the thing that kind of makes me forgive the change is the fact that his older design was spruced up a bit so look much less shittier in the 2nd game.

Same here but luckily for me I know someone with a Wii who doesn't even play with it just let's sit there on floor day in and day out. So depending on
the reception the game gets I'm snapping it up.

It did matter. Cole was a grim person who caused a lot of deaths directly and indirectly. He wasn't a happy character and he finds out, in the end, that it was
! himself that screwed him over
What they did, with his "redesign", was atrocious. It ruined his personality and made the ending of the game not matter. The newest trailer was a much better effort on the part of Sucker Punch in making Cole feel like the original character than the original trailer. I still don't like his voice but it doesn't matter as much now that he has his original personality back.

Oh Yes, I Have Anticipation! Impatience invades my brain pie like the many flies swarming to the dung pile that is time! And so, I wait. I have no gettings of the game, but the gettings will come! I Have Chortles!
Edit: Oh Haste of Hastes. Another video arises without attention getting to be paid. I have embarrass.

Agreed.
Also. Old news but I almost died of happiness when I saw those Kickass Vultures from Jungle Book are in the game <3

Same.
The opening cinematic to this game blew me away.
Slowpoking to my own video, but I just noticed that the opening cinematic differs from the one we saw at E3. The Mad Doctor is masked in the E3 one, and Oswald was standing behind him as if in cahoots. I'm hoping Mr. Spector isn't second guessing himself this late in the game, but I'm sure he knows when something needs to change for the better.
Also, I'm suddenly compelled to go out and buy Oswald merch.

Holy crap. Oswald Merch. Need now. I already pre-ordered my collectors edition of the game so, can't wait.

Warren Spector always knows best
But seriously I don't think they could've picked a better producer/designer for the game.
I miss the extreme goth and creepy look on the game….
I miss the extreme goth and creepy look on the game….
I think it still has a bit of that. The fact is though they can't be TOO dark, as it would scare off the young fans of Mickey Mouse. Whether that's a good or bad thing is arguable.
Played the game today, was fun. I look forward to the release.

They had shelves of those one time in Disney World. It was a few years ago though.

This and other videos remind me of the old Banjo titles and Rayman 2 in a good way, even though the controls seem kind of floaty, the graphics could certainly be better and the 2D stages look abysmal. It would be easier for me to ignore these things if this would be a new IP, since I'm no Disney fan, especially not a Mickey one. :/
This has "The Tale of Oswald" and the Opening.

The last date, Nov. 18 is Mickey's birthday, or the day that "Steamboat Willie" came out.
I'm one of the people that knew about Oswald. I do have to say though, him being in the game is what really drove my interest. It is such a neat concept. The game plays well. I can't wait for it's release. I just WISH they would have had an Oswald figure in the LE or at least a choice.
I really love Corey Burton's takes on Yensid.
Can't wait for this one. I wonder if a few of Oswald's old shorts will be featured as rewards in the game…
I know some shorts will be in the game. The guy couldn't tell me what though at NYCC.
There's a new interview on G4 with Warren Spector. Tomorrow City is revealed for the first time I believe.
I just pre-ordered my collector's edition today. @_@ I must say, I almost ignored this one last year, when it was first announced…it looks stunning. Okami-esque. Which makes me happy..
My brother-in-law already pre-ordered it as a gift for my sister (his wife of course)'s birthday. It's great to see my sister interested in a game again, other than fighting games.
http://news.filefront.com/new-epic-mickey-zone-mickeyjunk-mountain/
While we were checking out Epic Mickey at Disneyland last week, we got to see the first portion of one of the game’s areas — Mickeyjunk Mountain, a section of the game that hasn’t been announced yet (at least to my knowledge).
Resembling Disneyland’s Matterhorn, the mountain is largely a huge pile of licensed Mickey Mouse merchandise from the real world. Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, who runs Epic Mickey’s world, the Wasteland, is Walt Disney’s forgotten creation and is jealous of Mickey’s success. Any time Mickey junk makes it into the forgotten world of Wasteland, it ends up on this mountain.
We played through the beginning portion of Mickeyjunk Mountain, and it’s kind of ridiculous how much merchandise made it into the game — most or all of which is real stuff, according to Junction Point’s Warren Spector, the master creative force behind Epic Mickey. We found Mickey books, a Mickey guitar, a Mickey phone, and all of it was huge and interactive. Mickey even jumped on the phone’s keys to punch in numbers that affected nearby elements of the level.
Disney didn’t give us any actual screens of Mickeyjunk, but rest assured it’s as toxic and dystopian as one might imagine. The whole place was flooded with caustic pools of Thinner, which damage Mickey if he falls into them, and was stuffed with hidden elements that players will have to think creatively to discover.

Another reason for me to get this game.
