I didn't know it was possible not to be, but whatever. I'll admit that it was more inspiring to me before the crew separation, but you have to keep in mind how long of a story this is, and that that whole section was pretty much a "Hero's internal conflict" part. One Piece is probably going to be the goofy One Piece it was for a looong time, until the darker themes of it start to really surface.
Just the fact that something of this quality is out there and I get to read it weekly is enough to keep me going.

It also taught me what not to do; especially how important it is to kill your god damn characters when the story calls for it. Because if you avoid that too long and too blatantly, your work suffers for it.
I love reading posts from the past like this. The magic date of the first real death in One Piece is February, 2010 and this was posted in 2009. Yeah man, Oda needs to kill some damn characters. Back-to-back, too, in a legendary war.
