Hey, Mato, is it possible for you to address my theory on the release schedule? I kind of expect you to know nothing about it, since you were surprised they even started releasing them. But, I was wondering if there was a general guideline as to the release schedule, since I am particularly intrigued about the old episodes' release schedule. If you know nothing or it is outside the "safe zone", I completely understand. :)

I think "Gomu" isn't gonna happen. "Gum" is still one of those things Toei is already told them to use, so I don't think it's changing.

Also, I want these to be like DVD subtitles, IE No Translation notes. If anyone thinks the Fansubs are going anywhere, they're nuts. If you want your Fansub style subtitles, nobody's stopping you from going there and getting them, but those of us who like Professional level translations are finally getting that, so It should stay that way.

THAT'S what I've been saying it SHOULD be!!
Leaving it capitalized shows it's something with some weight to it, while at the same time translating it so the Scene where Hancock says Luffy has the "Ambition of a King" still makes sense.

Yeah, and it's F'in WEIRD. It also multipled my respect and admiration for the animators and the actors by 500. I also get to see early versions of the scripts before things get cut out due to time restrictions, etc. It's cool stuff

I'll have to find the quote, but someone E-mailed Mike McFarland about Sanji's attacks being in English in the last DVD set, and his answer was (and I'm paraphrasing here) That they were gonna be taking the same route as Ranma 1/2 and having the characters call the attacks out in English on their first appearance, and then all the attacks out in French and Japanese (For Zoro) every time after so the dub viewer knows what they mean.

Since when are translation notes unprofessional?How about taking an approach analogous to some of the more "sophisticated" translated manga? Either provide a minute of static cards with explanations at the end of the episode, or a "visit onepieceofficial.com/translationnotes/392 for translation notes for this episode."

Is 391 the episodes number in Japanese? I'm pretty sure that it's 391 in Japan as well, thus confirming that the Enies Lobby flashbacks, and the Oyabun Luffy episodes will be dubbed. Also of note is that 391 could possibly begin a new season for the Uncut DVDs, thus making this batch of episodes the "31st Voyage" (yeowch!) Also, if this IS the start of a new season, it will thus put my Four voyages per season theory to rest. -_-

It doesn't mean that the episodes are set in stone, 391 is the official Japanese numbering, that hasn't stopped FUNi from reordering the episodes in the Past. Look at Detective Conan.
We don't know what they'll do about the Enies Lobby Eps until they get there.

I hope FUNi keeps Dvorak - Symphony No. 9 (From the New World) as the background music in episode 126 (I think that's the episode, at least). I see no reason of them changing it, but still.

Now the other people in my house who don't know Japanese can watch in peace without the scourge Of "Nakama" rearing it's ugly head!!

I just finished 391 for the third time of Funi's website. Mato great work as always man. Can't wait to rewatch 392 with your translation man. Since 392 is one of my favorite episode of the Shabody arc.

I'm not being Literal when I say "Mystic" and if you think I am, then wow.

Why is "Choushinsei" Immune to this then? The Group IS called the "Supernovas" is it not?
I'm not talking about the Logic, the logic does make sense, but Fansubber break it on a moments notice when they think something sounds better in English, meaning there really is no logic behind it.
The Juunin no Choushinsei are what they are called. It's a name. So by Fansub logic, you shouldn't translate them. So why DOES everyone translate them?

@Charagon: They are already putting the first handful of episodes up. They may just keep a batch up episodes up at once before adding newer ones, like Toonami Jetstream.
And I've been worried, wont this effect DVD sales? If people can get this for free so easily and legal… I don't think it'd be wise for FUNi to put up the entire series. Fans still need to know that buying the DVDs will be one of their only choices of seeing the FUNi dub, that or they're gonna have to wait a long time.

Funi did something simlar to this Brother Darkness series they put all 13 episodes of the dub and sub up on their website like months before they were even release on dvd in the U.S. . They are doing the same thing with Big Windup as well right now, since they got the dub verison of that on their youtube page. And have the dub and sub on the Funimation website.

I don't think Funi should be putting their dubbed episodes online at all, except for maybe the first two as a teaser. No offense to Mato, but the dub is really the best incentive to buy the DVD. You can get already get subbed One Piece online so it doesn't hurt Funi to put it out there on their own. But the dub is the one thing Funi can really offer One Piece fans that they cannot get elsewhere.

But is it confirmed that they're going to put the whole kit and kaboodle up there? Do we know that first batch isn't just preview material? That's what they did with Shuffle. They put the first two episodes up (before eventually putting the whole thing on YouTube, sure, but that was a long time after)

lol, sure I agree my SDs are bad quality but that's only for the people who don't care. The hd is where all the little mistakes are fixed. Nevertheless, I'm not here to discuss that.

Quoted for truth but seriously I hate the fact that us non-americans get the finger, again. I mean do they want us to do things illegally. You don't solve a global problem with localised solutions. Of course the trouble is in the rights and licensing department. That's become such a intricate web of corporate bullsh't they couldn't even provide what's necessary if they wanted too. I mean there's no real reason why they wouldn't want us to see the same stream since all it means is less people seeing the show through illegal means. Copyright regulations you gotta love it.
