The 25th Anniversary Tour for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is traveling across the country right now, and reports are rolling in from those lucky enough to stop by one of the locations that a remake for Turtles in Time is currently in development. The Alpha build of the game is being demoed on the Xbox 360 throughout the tour, but we're getting reports it could possibly makes its way to PSN and WiiWare as well, though there is no confirmation of that right now.

3d?! Boo-urns! Gimme HD sprite art any day >_>
-
Yay!
I miss this game
I never got past the bosses of the 2 creatures from TMNT 2(im thinking of the right game arent I?) -
All right give me wiiware! Best news since MM9.
-
Kick ass! Y'know what this also means? God damn 3-D Super Shredder, that's what!
-

I know this debate went for video games too:ninja:.

Just saw this news over at Kotaku as well. Fuck yeah! Love the arcade version, and I love the SNES version. I'm hoping they'll have the SNES levels included in this game, because I do love throwing Foot Soldiers at the television screen. And hopefully there'll be 4 player online co-op.

I didn't especially during Shredder's boss fight in the Technodrome.
-
If they for some reason decide not to make a WiiWare version, then they should at least release the original game in Virtual Console.:ninja:
But from what I read : WiiWare might happen, but PSN definitely not. :(
-
From what I saw of a screenshot, the 3D looks similar to that of Mega Man Powered Up, Mega Man X Maverick Hunter and Bionic Commando Re-Armed.
-
This may be awesome.
-
Technodrome! Let's kick shell!
This is great news, I was just playing this game the other day and remembering the glory days of 2D beat 'em ups. I am totally and completely for this, especially if it supports 4 player co-op. I think I spoke of this game (the SNES version) in another thread here recently. :ninja:
-
Wait, a remake of the Fred Wolf studios/Konami Entertainment Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Turtles in Time game? The heck?
-
I seriously can't wait. I still dust off my SNES and kick some foot-soldier butt.
Either way, if Wii doesn't get it, I'm heading over to my buddies to play asap.
-
which reminds me.. Slash was a bitch to fight in Hard Mode

Absolutely loved the game as a kid. This is just great, hope it's the same…

Has this guy ever played a video game in his entire life?
Of course not. Having the first videos released be played by someone who never even touched pacman is a cherished new game tradition.
-
Looks pretty sweet.
-
If this game was a woman, I'd make sweet love to it. Turtles in Time is one of my favorite games of all time, and I'm glad it gets the recognition it deserves.
-
Since everybody was swept up in e3 hysteria I'm guessing not many around here saw these.

The remake of the Alleycat Blues isn't bad at alll. Same goes for Skull and Crossbones as well.
-
Ah foot ninja flying at the screen. I forgot how happy that makes me.
-
Kneel before
-
That IS indeed awesome, but I still wanna see a "COWABUNGA!!" before I'm 110% satisfied.

Just found this.

I've been wondering which TMNT:TNT they were going to be remaking. After seeing screens on the net, of Tokka and Razar in the Pirate Ship level. It means they'll be remaking the old arcade machine version and not the SNES version.
Ugh. I guess that means, we won't be seeing the Technodrome level, Bebop and Rocksteady, and Slash.
I'm sorry, Slash > Cement Man
-
Why is this so awesome?
-
Why is this so awesome?
Because its the best 22 or so minutes of Ninja Turtle game ever, being remade with modern graphics. thats why.
-
I can't believe they're using the old soundtrack. That's just freakin' outstanding.
-
Speaking of the original soundtrack, I've been finding the intro song to the arcade, PIZZA POWER oddly catchy as all get out.
Eventually came across this:

I don't know how and I don't why but when I heard that I couldn't get that damn song out my head.
Growing up in a glass bowl
With chameleons, lizards and tadpoles
It hardly enters your mind
That there's something better than this
A lettuce leaf and a carrot
Maybe a seed from the parrot
Believe me when I tell you
The word gourmet just don't exist
But pizza power
A flying saucer food delight
Pizza power
That's what makes us feel alright
Ignoring that reciting on Pizza Power's lyricsCDy6Fuctung

Its already been confirmed for WiiWare too.
Just not sure of the date though.
-
Ugh this needs to get on PSN pronto!!!!
I'm stoked for online multiplayer, but I'm disappointed we don't get Technodrome.

Good good.
All I need now is another 8-bit megaman to be announced.
-
Ugh, why do the demos always have complete retards playing the games? They were just attacking…air, and then rotating in the enemies direction. No wonder they died so much. :/
I didn't think the concept of a beat 'em up would elude people that badly. Leave the populus to prove me wrong. :(
-
I said it before I say it again.
Giving us vids of people who have no idea how to play is a long time honored tradition.
And frankly there's not enough tradition in the world these days.
-
So I downloaded the game today, its cool.
Gameplay wise, I'm sure most if not, everyone here is familiar with the original arcade game so I won't go into too many details, but for the most part the spirit of the original game is intact with some slicker visuals and movement. You pick a turtle, you run, you beat the shit out of Foot Ninja with or without three other people (Multiplayer is quite fun by the way), s'all good. If theres anything to really gripe about in this aspect, I guess it could be that the fighting may be a little disorienting at first since you've got the Z-plane in addition to 8 directions. Meaning when you're running down the stage at an angle and attack, you will attack WHILE facing that angle. Shouldn't be that hard to get used to though.
Visually wise, the game looks good. Its carries the more darker style akin to the original comic/movies/2003 cartoon (even uses the same VAs). Looks better on screen than what YouTube/any other online video make it out to be.
Sound wise….........as it turns out the game DOES NOT use the original soundtrack. In fact, the game acts like a complete asshole about by playing the first few bars of memorable tunes like Pizza Power and Alleycat Blues before going into something completely different. And if it turns out the tunes are honest-to-God remixes, then they're really bad, and really indistinguishable. Well, maybe not so much as bad, but they are boring, and make you wanna wish you were listening to the SNES soundtrack while playing.
Other than that, the game is a solid remake overall and the kinda thing I personally could see myself playing on those times when I can't figure out what I want to play.
My Gamertag is Tonfa X if anyone feels like going online on this sucker.
-
It's out?! Huh. I'll have to get it, and you and me can play it sometime.
-
Damn how much points is it? I only have 500MP right now D: damn it. Would like to play too with you guys :D
-
800 MS Points.
It was cut back from 1200 MS Points at the last minute. I like to think of it as an apology for the music.
-
I got it as well and am a bit disappointed that it's the arcade version and not the snes version that its based off of. But I do think its worth every point I spent on it. Its fun as all hell.

What happened to the music?!

Hm. I tried the trial version and I think I'm going skip this one after all.
I mean it was nice, probably quite a bit fun with 4 friends but it was also pretty underwhelming, really. I guess I just remembered the gameplay more… I dunno. Wouldn't I had bought so many other (great) XBLA games recently and wouldn't I be planning of buying some other upcoming XBLA games then I might had thought about getting this but, yeah, for now I'm going to skip Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Turtles in Time Re-Shelled (that's a mouthful ).
Perhaps if they will one day lower the price even more.
-
Sigh. I'm still waiting for the wiiware announcement.
-
Ah shit. All this time I assumed there'd be a PSN version. And that the son of a bitch would have an HQ version of Pizza Power.
