I never understand the whole 'must merge every single topic together' thing this site has
Because everyone makes identical threads. It's better having one thread with one topic, then 100 with the same. We have the New Nakama thread for people to post there theories and ideas on new nakama, so there is no point in making a thread about someone becoming a new nakama.
-
KiShiDo should be banned from making threads.

Well, it doesn't have that. But this thread really does belong in that one. There is a good reason for merging threads like this though, so the thread board isn't bombarded by small threads night and day, there is a particular place to go to read about [SH next nakama]. It just de-clusters the site.
Everyone would just end up making the same threaddamn, ive been ninja'd! >_> xD
-

Ok this thread isn't creative but should every topic be in the same similar thread? after 30 sites you loose the sight of what it is about. But Okay if making threads are against rules please ban me. But isn't a forum to make things like this?
PLZ close

^LOL The thread you made has been talked about months ago. It's not a new theory. Quite frankly it should've been deleted not locked or merged.

Off topic:
Yeah maybe but didn't found one so sorry. But it doesn't change the fact that most of the topics always stay the same here on the board cuz the others are merged or closed.
And can't you start a new topic without searching for threads from months back? I don't call for 100 of threads like in NF but some more even if they are similar or discussed month backBut forget about that. Let's go on here.
Like I said. Jimbei is really unlikely… but would be bad-ass. If not we have to get a new woman as SH -

Maybe… but for now he really seems a bit over the top to be a SH. But who knows what powers the SHs will get.
But with Jimbei they would win every sea battle. Thousand Sunnys cannon + Jimbei = win

Yeah but after seeing how amazing Jimbei was i don't want some fodder fishwomen. A mermaid maybe but can't see a fighting style for them
-
i think jimbei is too serious, to join SH, and he doesn't seem funny-loving person, maybe robin isn't that type either but she was inspired by luffy's will of D. thing, and i doubt jimbei has some reason to follow promising rookie, paying debt an be dealt in manny ways…i rather prefer option of some younger troublesome/misunderstood/goofy but strong fishman to join them...

Who knows what comedy reliefs bei could have. Zoro was shown as serious bad-ass as well before showing is sense of direction.
Like I said a mermaid would be cool but can't think for a fighting style. But a fishwomen… Please no after Jimbei. It would be the same if we would see Zoro in the past with his amzing skills and would get an other "weaker" student of him or something like that. But that's my opinion.
-
That's a horrible opinion.

If its a fishperson other than Jimbei they'd have high expectations to live up to, that's for sure.
And Jimbei, comic relief, I could see him having hilarious eating habits. Piss off Sanji, fish Luffy's and Usopp's sharks out of the pool, etc. Man I miss the ship and the crew :ermm: -

Yeah, as I said earlier, part of the story's theme has involved a group of nobodies working their way up to world-wide infamy. Jimbei could be this hypothetical Fishman's mentor figure, similar to Shanks, Tom, Yorki, Hiriluk, and so forth.

For marmaid hmm if you think about weapon for her i can only think about trident. Almost always when it is show merman he have trident, she could stole this weapon from father or something

True. I was taking another angle, simply my emotions. We've seen one whale of a merman, if any other would join Oda has to pull another killer character out of his hat.

Transferring the discussion from the "Questions that don't deserve their own thread"-thread
jimbei and raylight is in another league than the crew in their current level (like a 100 times)
also there is some common steorotype in crew, raylight or jimbei is currently too strong to join the crew, also still it is unknown if jimbei will die in fight, he may have to sacrifice himself
I think that you could compare Jimbei to Zoro. The water is Jimbei's favourite weapon like swords are to Zoro. Without them, they're still quite strong but not at their max. Jimbei doesn't seem to be much stronger than Luffy on land. Everyone in the crew has a skill at which he's best, why not let Jimbei be the strongest of the crew while he's in the ocean? Most of their fights will be on land anyways with next to no water around.
Additionally, it is not the time to show Jimbei's humour. Right now, he is all agitated, his fighting pal's life is on the line, same with the protector of his homeland. There is a war upcoming, why would he make some jokes? -

Jimbei would give Sanji a list of fish that are under his protection. And, because he is the oldest, he would always demand the biggest steak.

Or he would only eat human flesh cuz he won't eat his fish friends xD… Well OK probably not he would hit Sanji hard for killing fishes xD

Hacchi sells takoyaki for a living.

@_Meh_:
Foxy Brown joins the Marines, gets captured by the Straw Hats, becomes increasingly distrustful of the World Gov't. Power-Structure, joins up as Full-Time Superfriend of the WheatStraw Conspiracy, has a shoot-out with Samuel L. Jackson, kills a really whiny Tim Curry lookalike Tenryuukuso on-screen, gets a steamy shower scene with Nami and Robin, fires a rocket launcher into Akainu's battleship, and makes sweet love to Usopp just because she feels like it.
There. Can this end now?
I think I love you…
About the whole Jimbei story: wouldn't it kinda ruin his "mystique" to have him join?
He's one of those typical characters that are totally badass when enjoyed in small doses.
But to have him stick permanently? I don't know. -
Eh, this always happens. Whenever a new character is introduced and does something awesome (or even if they don't), people always go ''OMG, this person must join!!!1'', regardless if it can actually work or not.
-
I have a theory. There are like 1000 nerds/OP nerds here which increase the chance that one of them will have a big crush on the new displayed character making him wanting to post "HE MUST JOIN!!!". Even if this char. is boring as hell at AP you will always find a weird guy loving it…
-
Well I'm glad I can let this all go behind me now. Was on the b eleif always that as some said the person can't be a huge bounty person, 250,000,000 is way to much for a starting member. That is why thought Hancock had a chance with smaller starter. And after reading and thinking about how strawhats are pretty much always on land I just feel a fishman\mermaid or whatever just wouldn't be easy to write about and be weird being out of water so much. And when looking at the volume 54 discussion and seeing Oda write about the length of one piece and how luffy now fijnally has his 9 members makes me think he has no more planned. And with how far back he was thinking of brook being a member (well he was supposed to be a girl though) I feel he is done with members and only oly super small chance of a female joining and only if she was gonna be a much different acting, weapon, fighting ect than brook turned out to be

But Jimbei isn't boring
-
Well, Luffy said that he wanted ten, and Greg's translation simply says that there are nine people in the crew right now. I don't see how that closes the book on recruiting at all, since Brook is the eighth person, not the ninth or the tenth.
-
You can always argue either side. There are strong arguments for and against. Another argument for would be that he has a conflicted past and a dream: equal rights for fish folk. That dream could also coincide with Luffy becoming PK (more or less the same result if WB becomes PK though).
End of the day we really don't know, except for Crossword's argument that new members shouldn't be stronger than Luffy I think there is no consistent procedure recruiting follows. Robin and Franky were enemies at first. Actually those two also added a set of skills to the crew that weren't there before. Jimbei would do the same.Anyway for me its just that I like the idea of big fat Jimbei sitting smack in the middle of Sunny Go's deck in the coming arcs, making wise comments now and then. Grumpy and irritable Jimbei would be great as well. Understanding Chopper's past Jimbei as well. And playing around with Chopper, Usopp and Luffy on the mini-Merry.
End of the day One Piece is not predictable, we're just goofing around here. -
Jimbei has too much experience as a pirate.
-
Franky has too much experience as a lifeguard.
-
How boring will the new world be if jimbei joins?
"I know this place".
"I know this pirate… He has this weakness"
And what is with the fishmen? Shouldn't they be protected by someone?
There is a reason jimbei is a shichibukai. He knows a lot and is extremely powerful. We don't even know if luffy can win against him (i doubt since Ace and Jimbei fought Ace to a draw)?I'm arguing that a crew where a member has more knowledge about strategy and is much more powerful than the captain doesn't make sense...
-
Brook has been a pirate for more than 50 years. He should have too much experience.
Robin has a lot of information on other pirates, their origins, places, … too. -
He spent most of that time stuck in the middle of nowhere with pretty much no information on the outside world other than whatever could be found at Thriller Bark.
Anyway, I do feel that the crew should be complete (as in, the eleven people) before they enter the New World, both for the symbolic factor, and the fact that it's the New World. You shouldn't take it on unless you are absolutely prepared.

So from now on nobody can join cuz the know the new world?
I'm talking about jimbei a fishman who probably (well i believe it is right) visited WB a lot. A pirate who is stronger than luffy right now. A pirate who has a lot of fame (as a pirate). Regardless on how you look at it, it doesn't really makes sense for him to join.
It's not the same situation as Law and Jambarl.
-
Franky has too much experience as a lifeguard.
He needs it…. Luffy, Brooke, Chopper <-------- the clumsy hammers... XD
Uhmm excuse my interruption...but who is Jambarl?
-
The giant that joined Law's crew.
-
Magnetic Monkey, you actually said it wouldn't make much sense if a member of the crew had more knowledge about strategy than Luffy? All the others I get and I think they're good points, but this
[EDIT: Cleared up]Anyway, I don't think anyone will overshadow Luffy. When he took on Zoro, the Pirate Hunter was way more famous than Luffy. Couple of arcs later and we saw what happened.
But that's it for me, its up to Oda and either way its fine.
He needs it…. Luffy, Brooke, Chopper <-------- the clumsy hammers... XD
lol, end of the day the speedo's have a symbolic meaning after all
-
And it is time that Luffy gets some owerful members like Zoro and Sanji. Both are near his strenght or equal. And on land Jimbei isn't that strong either.
-
What are the most valuable things luffy has? His power to detect who he can trust and who not. He also has his strength which he uses to protect his friends. He knows nothing about strategy. I think that everyone overshadows him when it comes to strategy. Jimbei overshadows luffy in strategy and in strength. That was my argument.
EDIT: What i wanted to say is that jimbei isn't a dumb idiot like luffy.
-
And it is time that Luffy gets some owerful members like Zoro and Sanji. Both are near his strenght or equal. And on land Jimbei isn't that strong either.
He already has Franky, who could well be stronger then zoro or sanji.
-

Seriously he isn't Luffy/Zoro/Sanji level and ODa is showing that… but don't let us start a battle thread.

Uhmmm you forgot to mention that he has an immortal nakama…by the name of Brooke... XD

Fine, but when was this shown then? All I've seen is him fighting luffy & manhandling blueno, nero & chapapa(whatever his name was) straight away, which was fairly impressive.
