Hehe, I remember some of those, especially the Transformers one. That really was a messed up episode, but funny as heck. Especially the part where the chick tricks Rumble into turning himself into a tree. If you want a make a funny edit, watch the first scene and then cut it right after she says "ouch" and looks down, haha.

The thing that I think is missing from this list is the truly frightening "Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue" in which a bunch of cartoon characters gather together in one cartoon to convince a boy to stop smoking pot.

Actually, speaking of drugs, there was an episode of The Littles that really freaked me out when Dinky accidentally ingested a hallucinogenic drug…seriously, it gave me nightmares.

10) Shipwreck’s Family Melts in G.I. Joe I saw this episode a few years ago (about 8) at 3am and was thinking "wtf" the whole time. It was actually quite long and I thought it was a movie.

I remember the Smurfs one, the rest I can't remember…my childhood most of been shitty if I've never seen one episode of the Transformers cartoon.

I remember about a third of those, though only one of them was from their first run during the '80s; namely, that episode of Inhumanoids. It was a pretty messed up series to begin with, but watching D. Compose get his arm bit off was something else new.

The Smurfs episode and Thundercats I primarily remember from later runs during the '90s; Boomerang regularly shows that Smurfs episode around Christmas. On a Smurfily-related note, while checking Boomerang for a moment earlier, I caught the very end of a Smurf episode involving an elephant. I swear that I heard Hefty Smurf say "Smurf off, Brainy!" It was probably "Smurf Up, Brainy", but that's definitely not what it sounded like.

I still maintain that the most off-putting thing about that is how the villain of the piece comes off as much, much more reasonable and supportive of a character than any of the people who are telling the kid not to do drugs.

Even then though, I don't think that was one ten-millionth as creepy as the Mysterious Stranger segment from Wil Vinton's The Adventures of Mark Twain.

That two-part story arc was probably the best written G.I. Joe screenplay ever, hands down.

I think the only one of those that is on the rather disturbing side is the thunder cats ep.
However, I wasn't scarred at all by the Care Bears movie. That was a big 'ol chunk of my childhood and I loved it XD

It's strange. I've watched Thundercats ad nauseam, but I totally do not remember them being naked. I can recite Mumm-Ra's transformation spell, I can sing the intro song, but I don't remember them being naked. Repressing memories…?
Anyway, I remember some of the other points in the above list, especially the Transformers scene and the Care Bears shit. The part from the Smurfs isn't alien to me either. And of course, I directly remembered a scene that creeped the hell out of me.

Anyone remember the anime series to "Treasure Island" by Robert Louis Stevenson? It was brutal as hell, dark, with drunken children and deaths the whole time. I was not very frightened when some pirates where killed in the fight or when two of the bad guys were left behind on the treasure island at the end of the series.
But there was one death that totally blew my mind. One guy of the pirate crew, a tall, dark man with a bald head, a steel chain as a necklace and, if I remember correctly, an eye-patch, somehow was at loggerheads with Long John Silver, the captain of the crew who only had one leg and walked with a crutch. At one point, the bald guy ran away, and Silver told everyone to do nothing. When the guy was a few yards away, Silver THREW THE CROTCH AND IMPALED THE GUY FROM BEHIND.
I was so horribly frightened!!! There certainly came back a few disturbing childhood memories when I saw that exact same scene a few years ago.

This cartoon was banned. I can hardly imagine why… I first saw this when I was on Nyquil (I swear to the goddess, I was sick). Freaked me the hell out of me.

I know this might not be the MOST relevant, but it's incredibly disturbing, AND on a child's claymation from the 80s.
