Huh?:wassat:
It's not about a character's personality within confines of the story. If that was the case then no one would be allowed to like any of the villains introduced throughout the story. Hell I like Moria and Teach personalities, and they've done things that one wouldn't call them a "saint" because of it. I think you misunderstood what I meant by "like" so…sorry about that.:ninja:
Honestly, I've just never been a fan of the "I do what I want cause I'm beautiful" archetype, it's almost as bad as the "God complex" archetype, but that at least was used well with Ener. In combination with this specific Devil Fruit power isn't really helping me in liking Hancock.
Hancock:
-thinks she's entitled to everything just because she's beautiful
-has the Mero Fruit who's basis revolves around "swooning" i.e. lustLike I stated in an earlier post, had this specific Devil Fruit been given to some arc antagonist's underling(male or female, I could care less) I wouldn't be so bothered by it. But it just so happened to be in the hands of the first major powerhouse female character introduced in the story, which is lame in my eyes.
I even stated before that I'm sure we'll see more things from Hancock so it's not like I disagree with you in that aspect nor am I labeling her as weak because of it. I just find it horrible that the basis of this specific character's abilities stem from the "make you horny" Fruit, and frankly I'm disappointed since I expected better from Oda.
lol or a fruit that "makes anyone that you see orgasm on the spot"…im sure sanji would love that
back to topic, yeh i understand how you feel about the decision to make the only shichibukai to have a power such as this. But then again its hard to think up of new powerful fruits, before they start becoming over the top, and i think it is easier for any writer to refer to things such as mythology to get ideas.
Plus its not the fruit that makes you horny...atleast i think. Im sure it was Hancock's 'natural beauty' that made people become horny cause she cant have two powers at once. Instead i think that she can turn anyone into stone if they think about her (hence y the admiral wanted to stab himself to think about something else). this would mean anyone thinkin about her, even if facing away, can be turned to stone if in the line of fire...then again its just another wacky thoery
hmm after reading over this again, much of that is very contradictory, but i cant be bothered deleting it all...and then again its a change to the way of viewing her power...
