The way Sentoumaru is hurting Luffy is reminiscent of the way Garp was able to harm Luffy. Both of them were able to punch him to the point where they negated his rubber body. Seems there is more to the marines than Rokushiki.

Nah, I doubt it's a new fighting style, maybe its just brute force of a person without a DF. I mean think about it, is someone like Whitebeard doesn't have a DF and is still one of the strongest, he should be able to take on DF users, probably just that brute strength.
Mihawk is like Kanye West…ppl only scared of him bcuz hes kinda crazy and dangerous...hes only got 1 friend Jayz i mean Shanks no 2 mention hes really cocky too and nobody in the OP world likes him..mayb kanye has a long black sword too!!

I still don't think he "stopped" Kizaru, in my opinion, he simply deflected the laser attack.

We've seen before that Luffy can still be harmed by powerful physical blows. Just look at that long fistfight he had with Lucci. Heck, even Gasparde in Movie 4 was knocking the snot out of him when his arm was stuck in that goo…
Anyway, lightsabers make anything cooler, and I'm still interested in what Kuma's motives are, and hope that we get some of Luffy's Movie 6 character in here too.

A few attacks? No the SH's used their BEST attacks, they even used "Mouton Jet" "106-Pound Cannon"!!! The fact that the SH's were shown bleeding and Zoro getting tag blasted by a lazer off panel shows how the SH crew was getting handled. The crew had to put even more effort in finishing the Pacafista [Luffy Gears 3 ect]. Not too mention Ussop and Robin being able to make the cyborg damage it's insides ALLOWING the Sh's to even finish the Pacafista off.
The reasons' why the SH's are fatigued is quite clear.
The first time Luffy used Gear Second and Third, he spent time in Gear Second and then did two attacks in Gear Third and went back to Gear Second. I'm not asking for Luffy to win, or for the SHs to win. I just would like a better reason than "Mouton Jet" 106-Pound Cannon plus going all out with their best attacks for them to be on the floor and out of energy.

For example, sentoumaru is capable of harming luffy though he's rubber. it would have been sufficient for them to have a typical exchange with the same result and luffy getting his ass handed to him.

Ok.Great Chapter,Just finished reading it.
My guess is that Kuma 'sends' Zoro to 'Impel Down'.As much as i'm looking foward to seeing 'Impel Down' this is going to get in the way of 'Gyojin Island'.
But thier is an upside.IF Kuma has 'teleported' Zoro to 'Impel Down' the mugiwara's may enter the fray with WB vs Shichibukai and save Ace!.
We may also get to see some of are old fav's such as Crocodile.Anyway great Chapter,Thanks Oda and Translator's.

How about they were caught off gaurd, just finished a fight with the marines back at the human auction house, AND they're in kind of a hurry because they're running from an admiral who's on the way, so maybe they want to beat the px-4 quickly and try to find a good place to rest as well as hide.

WB and shanks r not a fruit users and they r in the top 5 strongest people in one piece world and they sure can beat logia type, Ace left with the dream of becoming the pirate king then choose to work under WB even he is strong and one of the most powerfull logia fruit, it means he understood how powerfull is this man and thought he cannot beat him. i dont see any other explanation

I myself am quite dissatisfied that Luffy's so tired out. Luffy used Gear 3rd twice in one day, but it was only with 2 moves. Is Gigant Rifle really that hard to do?
My guess is that Luffy is strongest when he needs to help someone. Right now, he just wants to get away from all the Kumas, Sentoumaru, and Kizaru.

i think the whole flying fish happened earlier this day too. Not sure though
and some of the kuma battle was off screen
and im thinkin all the gear 2 shit is starting to get to him as well…he used a lot of it in Thriller Bark and stacked them too

Being caught off-guard is how Apoo attacked Kizaru, or how that pirate shot Kizaru in the back of the head. The SHs were surprised, yes, i agree. however, the marines they fought at the auction house should be similar to the ones they found at EL and i'm betting they fought more at EL. and after the auction house, they met up at Rayleigh's place and he gave them a talk, so they had some rest. and then we get to where we're at now.
i feel a little like a broken record and what's done is done. the SH got winded from their encounter with the PX-4. i've accepted this, but that doesn't mean i have to like it ^^

We were never shown the whole PX-4 fight. A lot of their exhaustion happened within those moments.
And as for other people beating on Luffy such as how Lucci was able to seriously hurt him, the way he was beat up then is somewhat different than what Garp and Sentoumaru have done to him. It's not necessarily on a higher level than what Lucci did but it's definately more effective.

What does that have to do with Ussop being useless?
Also, i'm really interested in the powerful non-DF users. I'm hoping from a confirmation from Oda of some sorts saying that brute force or natural speed can negate logia abilities, that would make a little sense.

The lasers cause explosions so I am pretty sure that one was near Robin and caused her to crash against the ground which caused her to be bruised up.

Also people say that Raleigh "cut" the light rays that Kizaru turned into when he was going towards the others, but I don't think so. I believe he used the side of his sword to reflect the light rays, thus reflecting Kizaru back, stopping him, so Raleigh probably has a good knowledge of logia weaknesses or something.

Zkaiser-I actualy made a Kuma card a week ago .Several OP cards and boy were they bitchy at their forums.
Anyway,this chapter is once again epic-even more with the real Kuma apearing and the discusion on which one is real will finaly die.

I can't believe I just realized something about Kuma and his bible. His name is based on a real life pirate, Bartholomew Roberts, who coincidently was somewhat religious and had church mass on his ship.

The Mugiwara's are worn out(obviously) and are on the brink of death.
Then Kid and Law make a fantasmic entrance to help them escape.
They then go to Impel Down and save Zoro and help in the war.
The Supernova's(Apoo,Kawkins,Drake ect) who are in Impel down make an escape while the WG is distracted by Whitebeard.Me=Tired :O

It's not how much fighting the Straw Hats have done, it's the quality of the fighting that the Straw Hats have done.

from the beginning I'll go all out!!!Luffy uses the term 全開(zenkai) which means to go all out, open fully, go full throttle. It means that Luffy is going to give it everything he has. So yeah the Straw Hats have plenty of reasons to be tired.
I know that you've been harping on evidence of why they are tired. I suggest re-reading chapters 508-511 again. And realize that the entire time that Kizaru is fighting with the Supernovas that the Straw Hats are fighting the Pacifista.

Raylee cuts the path of light on page 7 dispersing the light into little particles, and on page 8 Kizaru looks up and has a new cut across his face. It think it's pretty cut and dry that Raylee cut the light path.

Haki is the only thing that makes sense. It will probably be explained that if you focus your haki (like naruto chakra) into your weapon or punch you will be able to hit him no matter what. Haki also explains why Whitebeard, Shanks and other pirates haven't been taken over by other Logia. That's why the New World is much more dangerous because of Haki users.
I love how we got these kids explaining Haki like they know everything about it already because of a few scenes/dialogues witnessed. It's pretty clear which direction Oda is going with this.

I'm not a fan of this 'haki' idea either, and like I had hypothesized with some other members that it may be some form of attack similar to zoro's manifestations. But we just have no idea :p
Regarding Luffy, I don't care how tired Luffy was supposed to be. For starters, the SHs shouldn't have been that winded fighting the PX-4, and Oda is pulling the same card he did in W7. Luffy couldn't fight Blueno because he was distracted by Robin leaving, and now Luffy can't fight Sentoumaru b/c he's distracted by Zoro. And don't get me wrong, I don't mind characters being stronger than Luffy, but I feel like Sentoumaru is too much stronger than Luffy.
I really don't know if I buy this Luffy is suffering internal damage from using gear second. this was lucci's hypothesis about the side-effects of luffy's technique. lucci's doesn't have luffy's rubber body and can only guess at how much (if any) luffy's body is damaged by him using gear second. so i really don't think this is the reason for luffy's fatigue. i'd put my money on sentoumaru dealing the damage.
the point isn't being caught off-guard, b/c we've seen Apoo catch Kizaru off-guard before. the point is the rayleigh is capable of making kizaru bleed even though kizaru is a logia user, and we've seen no use of DF from rayleigh so far. this is the importance of the scene with the bloody cheek.
It's not that Sentoumaru is invincible because he can do damage to Luffy it's because Luffy is unable to do any damage to him. Why wouldn't Luffy run? Until they figure out Sentoumaru's achillees heel, he will appear seemingly invincible.

Why does a kid like you always have to guess the next powerup or the underlying message by oda. "Haki is spirit energy, pretty obvious". Haki in my opinion is simply intimidation by incredibly strong opponents.

I just read the chapter. This week was amazing. Things are looking bad for the SHs. Most of them are injured, Zoro's gone, and they're faced with Kizaru, Sentoumaru, a pacifista Kuma, and the real Kuma. I doubt Chopper can take them even as monster Chopper. This is gonna get SO good! Maybe Zoro went to where Perona went? And Releigh, I think he may either keep Kizaru busy for the SHs to somehow get away or he'll die. This week's Naruto and One Piece were epic!
