    • RE: Boa Hancock a bad joke?

      @Hiroy:

      I'd really like to know how the haters would make Hancock's personality as a "all high and mighty" Warlord, because this is ridiculous. I mean seriously. I still think her being a woman is a factor, whether or not its denied.

      She does not have to be "all high and mighty" nor she does not have to be a lovesick schoolgirl either. Is it too much to ask to want her to be something in between,one extreme to the other?

    • RE: Boa Hancock a bad joke?

      @Hiroy:

      Potential lock worthy topic here.

      Why? If I am wrong I am open for debate.

      You may not be a sexist, but I think you are just one of those guys that expects a woman to act in a certain way to please you.

      Not really. I would be the same disappointed if a male shichibukai had duval personality and then switched to an even more girl hungry sanji personality. It it has nothing to do with her being a woman.

      Hancock is just human with a realistic background for the way she acts. I'm sure the other Warlords have their own reasons for acting like they.

      They do. Moria and Croc act like the way they do because of frustrated ambition. We have yet to see more about the others.

      Also it is kind of hard to take in a way if you consider all she had to do to avoid the tatto to be seen was just to cover it with another one or burn it off. It seemed a cheap plot device so Luffy can easily gain Hancock trust.

      I disagree with every last thing.

      At least you are honest.

      @Luffy:

      I look forward to the day where she kicks some major ass (which I know she will) and make you all eat your words and gibbering like baboons.

      I have no doubt in my mind that she is extremely powerful. Though that will not change my view of her as having a personality that seems like a joke and a cheap plot device.

      @Don:

      why you need some1 who agree with you??

      Prehaps I am interested in other people opinion and how they differ from mine.

      😄you dont have to like her nor see her as a full shichibukai..but she is and she is mighty with her DF…why shouldnt the WG take her (even sengok said shes strong)..they arent looking just for "taff guys who are evil and can beat with their bare hand every1 to pulp"...so i dont see why the WG (which decided who becomes a shichibukai) shouldnt have her as a shichibukai...just cause a fan like you don`t see the brutal female fighting warrior ??😉

      Why do people think I doubt her strength? She has one of the strongest Hakis and praised by sengoku which shows she is strong. I am just saying her personality seems like a joke.

      @Faren:

      @duststorm:
      I don't agree with you, the only shichibukai we know of his motivation is Blackbeard and Moria, who both want to be the Pirate King. Also we don't actually know really much about the characters of the others shichibukai except for Hancock, Blackbeard or Moria.

      I never mentioned that every shichibukai should have an ambition to be Pirate King. Just that they should have some goal or purpose to keep people interest. For example Doflamingo seem to have a certain motivation with his era. Kuma is even more ambiguous.

      So far Hancock just seems to be plot device like duval was and much of a joke as he was.

    • Boa Hancock a bad joke?

      First of all just make it clear, I am not sexist. I have no problem with a female shichibukai. Just her portrayal as a character seems to make her look like a joke compared to the other shichibukai.

      Usually when I think about the shichibukai, I imagine them as powerful, independent, impressive individuals in both power and personality. That is at least the impression I get when one is introduced. When each one was officially introduced they had an awesome introduction.

      When Hancock was introduced it started with a joke. Her kicking a kitten out of the way, which I guess was suppose to be a joke. Then when the VA tried to convince her to come with him. She just said she did not want to in such a manner that it made her look like a spoiled brat. When she said she did not feel like going, I got the impression she is like a kid who had his way too often and thinks the whole world revolves around what he or she wants. This is not the main reason why I think she is a joke compared to the other shichibukai, just that she made a bad impression as a character IMO.

      So what is her justification for her behavior? Is for it more power,it is ambition or to protect something important? No it is just that she thinks her beauty allows to do anything she wants to. That is a shallow and boring motivation,the other shichibukai had far more interesting motivation.

      Also her first demonstration of power is to make horny men as hard as stone. Am I the only one who finds this to be a joke considering that all one has to do is not focus on her beauty to overcome this power. All of the other shichibukai first of demonstration power were more impressive and less ridiculous then this.

      Also isn't her name Boa Hancock, a phallic metaphor?

      Then when wee see her at amazaon lily. We see that she likes to look down on people so much that she bends backwards. The habit again seems like another joke.

      Then we go to her horrible past which I guess is suppose to make her into a good guy someone to pity. I would understand this if she her were a normal side character created to keep the plot moving. It is just that she is a shichibukai. Someone who is suppose to appear fearsome and powerful, not as a spoiled girl or a traumatized girl. Especially she seem not to think in all those years just to either burn off the tattoo or create another one to cover it. If I had such a horrible thing on me I would get rid of it as soon as possible. That she did not do that is just ridiculous. She is no smarter then Duval and his goons.

      After Luffy has won her trust. Her character becomes even more of a joke. She gets lovesick. An actual illness that is affecting her. Are you telling me that a shichibukai is lovesick? This is just a bad joke.

      Now after she recovers from her "illness". She acts like a school girl despite that she suppose to be grown woman. Then add the fact that she fawns and daydreams about a boy who is about a decade younger then her.That is just ridiculous and a bad joke IMO.

      At this point she is just a bad joke. All of the other shichibukai have interesting personalities and are not a walking joke. The shichibukai are individuals that feared and awed in the OP world. When I think of awe and fear, I do not think of a spoiled brat or lovesick schoolgirl which is what Hancock is.

      Maybe my concept of a shichibukai is mistaken though I did get that impression from all the other ones.

      So does anyone else agree with me?

    • RE: Chapter 513 "I couldn't even…!!!" Discussion

      This chapter was epic.

      What really gets to me is that this is first time that Luffy spirit was utterly crushed. Him sobbing on floor while lamenting on being able to save his nakama really made me feel bad for him.

      @igetownd:

      I myself am quite dissatisfied that Luffy's so tired out. Luffy used Gear 3rd twice in one day, but it was only with 2 moves. Is Gigant Rifle really that hard to do?

      Luffy says using 2nd gear tires him out.

      He uses 2nd gear
      http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/508/18/

      He already used 3rd gear twice as well 2nd gear. It not a surprise that Luffy is tired.

      @Scratchmax:

      That's what I don't understand aswell.I mean why the hell is Robin:wub: covered in Dirt,Blood and scratches when she's hardly done anything:blink:

      The lasers cause explosions so I am pretty sure that one was near Robin and caused her to crash against the ground which caused her to be bruised up.

      Wait if Rayleigh fights Kizaru will he then make a run for it? Someone has to coat the ship so I guess there will be no Rayleigh vs Kizaru fight.

      @sabret00the:

      He was sent to do that by Sengoku and was ultimately happy that the Mugiwara made their escape. The better question would be; "what type of grandfather would allow their grandchild to go somewhere knowing that it would only inevitably lead to their death?"

      Garp already knew about Luffy plan to go to the New world since W7. He did not do anything now why should he do something now?

      He knows that Luffy will go no matter what he says.

      Though one thing confused me how can Rayleigh's leg make contact does he have a Anti DF ability?

    • RE: The Pacifistas

      I got a question.

      Are the Pacifistas that they are fighting prototypes? They just have lazer but not the paw power. Zoro is the only one who knows that the original Kuma can fire a lazer from his mouth. So I guess the others have not made the connection yet.

      So is the original Kuma the more completed Pacifista?

    • RE: Chapter 506 "Roger & Rayleigh" Discussion

      @Zkaiser:

      I've got a question, where the heck did Kidd get all of those damn weapons? What, Is he Tenten's brother or something?

      And if I were Law I would have turned around once I saw Kuma and taken my chances with the fodder marines and snake around the Admiral. But I'm a pussy so maybe what I would've doesn't really matter. 😁

      I think those are the weapons of the marines they just defeated.

      I guess most of the other supernovas would do the same so there is no shame in that.

    • RE: Is Zoro the First Mate?

      About Roger and Rayleigh. I think the most likely ending in one piece will be that Luffy becomes Pirate King, then dies shortly after because of using gear 2nd too often. Similar to Roger and Rayleigh, the captain dies while first mate lives on.

      Though what is interesting is that Luffy seems to have a lot of faith in Zoro. It seems to be same trust a captain would have in his first mate.

      http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/121/03/

      So it less likely for Zoro to be caught then Sanji?

      http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/244/04/

      Considering that they are about to sacrificed he seems to be quite sure that Zoro can protect them.
