I did that thing where you wear those funny hats and wizard robes and then graduate from high school.
I had a college orientation today, and that took quite a while. I've got most things figured out, and I just got done doing Math and Chemistry placement exams.
I sure forgot a bit in the month that I haven't had Calculus:blink:
I'm pretty excited to be majoring in Chemistry, though. I'm not sure why:ninja: but I guess I like the subject for no apparent reason haha.
Oh, and I got a sweet dorm room. I was suppose to get screwed over since I registered late, but eh. I'll take it anyways.
hoping my roomate is a One Piece fan
Went to a Them Crooked Vultures concert yesterday. God dammit. Probably the best night of my life. Every song fitted so well, even Interludes with Ludes, which is a bit off on the album. I must see them again sometime.
@Tijnn.:

I am so very jealous of you right now…
There's a goddamn Raigou outside of my house. I went to the gym and got Subway on the way home and after turning a corner I see this giant partition in the clouds and past that partition there are little swells in the clouds with occasional lightning flashes inside of them. Then when I got home it started pouring and still is. The streets are flooded .
My friend is depressed and wants to kill himself, my mom visited a doctor who found some kind of lump from her chest, and I ain't feeling too good either.
A very misfortunate day for me huh? At least it has been sunny >__>

Lets see…
I'm taking Math Studies this year instead of next year so I can get the exam over with...they told me to take it instead of Pre-Calc or whatever the other choice was, so we'll see.
Biology 1, which I'm hoping I'll enjoy. Chem was fun, but once we started doing Stochionometry, I stopped liking it.
History of the Americas 1, the standard English, Spanish 4, Band....
And Philosophy as my certificate class. I had a hard time picking between that, Anthropology, Chem 2 and German, but it boiled down to the fact that we get to watch The Matrix in that class. XD
My required reading list is a little frightening, though.
How about you?
I was enrolled in IB, but I decided to fuck it, so I'm just going with the certificate instead of the diploma.
AP Physics
AP Chemistry
IB Biology
IB English
Trigonometry (probably Enriched, but maybe AP)
AP History
Fuck yergggg Science
All in all, not too bad. Although I think I'm forgetting something…
Got to go home about 3 hours earlier than I usually do which is pretty cool. Also watched Shutter Island finally and loved the hell out of it. I'll be going to one of my friends' graduation parties tomorrow if I could get her address. It hasn't been posted on Facebook yet but I sent her a message.

That's my backup plan. I'm not zoned for the school I'm going to and I can only go there if I'm taking courses not offered at the local school, so I'm stuck with IB classes no matter what. Plus, in IB you can have less than A's and it'll still be okay. :P
That's alot of science, are you going into the medical field?
Woke up just in time for the first match for the Soccer World Cup!
After being on the couch forever, read some Haruhi book 2!
Finally the next game started up, go France!
And then it sadly ended with 0-0, too bad.
Then got ready for the E3 kickoff! Tons of exciting games to come!
Ign pumps me up even more
Than shoot some hoops with the pals
Then watch some Ben 10: UA and Generator Rex
Then Mom and sis make me go with them to Kroger
Suprise! Movie Gallery is closing! Perfect chance to pick up…DB Evolution BD!
Home at last..time for E3 Kickoff on Spike TV
Than time for my menl'y sides(Pervy goggles)
Then time to look at Mario marathon courtesy of the speed gamers!
Then finally go to sleep....SNore!
Three guys wearing kilts came into my store thirty minutes before my shift ended.
Made my night.

I did the same thing also. Weird.

Yeah, I had the same dilemma. I was out of the district, and the school I currently go to was the only one that offered the IB program. I guess I can just take the certificate (2 IB classes) and I'll be fine, so I decided to that so I can have more wiggle room. And my local high school just shut down, so I guess now I have freedom of choice for schools, so maybe I don't even have to take the certificate program. I'll probably take it anyway though, considering IB English is awesome.
And yeah, I plan on being a marine biologist. Wish there was more than one math class offered though…

Mine are:
SL English
SL History
SL French
HL Math
HL Chem
HL Bio
I've already finished my History and English exams. Which happen to be the easiest courses.
Is band an IB course that you're taking? Good pick with the Philosophy btw, its an incredibly fun and interesting course according to what I've been hearing from my peers.
I thought I would enjoy biology too so I took it…
Bad idea.
Its just a bunch of memorization combined with a million labs.

I'm looking forward to the classes and the material (except maybe math, that's my weak point), but the Extended Essay and the CAS project have me worried. My sister did it and got the diploma, but I'm afraid I'll have to drop an activity to keep up, she wasn't in band or a sport of anything…
I'm going to miss wiggle room. ;_;
Wow, a marine biologist! Have you ever heard of Harbor Branch?

They offer French at my school and I would take it if Spanish wasn't so widely used here…
No, band isn't IB, unless you count the Music Theory class that all the Freshmen have to take; it counts as and MYP Art class credit. The music program at my school is really big (I think this year we have like 215 people counting Guard and percussion) and we're kind of famous in our state. Lots of IB kids are in band and stuff too, so nobody's alone. :)
I plan on maybe minoring in music in college, and I've been told I can get decent scholarships for playing bassoon; I'm in the top band, so we'll see how much I can get.
Thank you! I wanted to pick a good elective since I don't get to pick one next year, and I'm really looking forward to it.
Aww. I don't think I had any other choice besides Biology, and I know I have to take it again next year. Memorizing I can do, and dissecting stuff doesn't bother me (as long as it's smaller than a house cat, I don't think I could handle a person, so I'll never be a surgeon), but the upperclassmen all seem to like the teacher, so that's a plus.
Well, I was going to go to a graduation party today but she never told me her address . I wouldn't have been able to stay very long anyway because of Subway's fucking scheduling. Well, only one more day of it, though it doesn't help…
Today I
-Woke up when I was in the 2nd half of the game in South Korea and greece
-Ate for breakfast: pasta with garlic and oil with onion chicken
-Then I was playing accordion in the the party of my friend
-After the party I went to see the whole game of argentina vs Nigeria
-Came out with some friends of mine, walking aimlessly
-I was in my friend's house to watch England vs USA .. but I got tired of the game.
and left
-I cut my hair at the hairdresser who is a childhood friend (I did not like the new cut.)
-Was coming home, but I spent the first bakery to buy
. Bread, requijão, bologna
and at the end danced several songs that I wrote

CAS just seems like a load of bullshit to me, so I'm glad that I don't have to deal with it. Next year, I'm going into my first sport ever at my high school, Cross Country, so I'm glad that the full IB program won't be interfering with my enjoyment of it. Extended Essay really isn't that bad. Pick a topic that you enjoy (before I decided to quit full IB, I was planning on doing it on whales), and you should be able to finish it fairly quickly. It may be seem daunting, but it really isn't that much trouble at all; just don't procrastinate. I'm not sweating next year too much yet. For the time being, I'm just enjoying the first few weeks of summer, hanging out with friends, going to XC practice and reading an ungodly amount of great literature. I figure come mid-July I'll start reviewing stuff for the ACT though.
Nope, haven't heard of Harbor Branch, but a quick Google search revealed to me what it was. Seems cool. I already have my mind set upon USC (University of Southern California), as my Dad, because he works at a university, can get me in there free, and I've heard it's a great marine biology school.
What're you planning on going into?
Watched movies
Checked twitter( i may join up)
went searching for my Animation Academy Drawing ( DCA Show)
Played DQV and now stuck on a boss

I like volunteering, I do it every Saturday, but 150 total hours seems like too much. If I do have to drop something, it'll probably be martial arts…for the fall, at least, while I have band practice and football games and such.
I've considered some topics before....Comparing WWII propaganda from several countries, hidden messages and underlying themes in Disney movies, analyzing Harry Potter in some way...but I haven't decided yet. My sister did hers on how the music of the 1960's reflected the events of the decade (or something to that effect), she was in the top 10% of her class, and she got a D on hers; so did the guy at the top of her class. Procrastination is my specialty, but my goal for this summer is to pick a topic, and I think I can do at least that.
I took a practice SAT when they offered it and got a decent score; is the ACT much different?
USC! A friend of my sister is going to Santa Cruz, which I believe is a part of it. I don't recall her major, but it's a very good school.
I'm not decided, but I've considered European History professor, pathologist, and musician. It's difficult to pick and I enjoy all three...
Went to my very first concert today. Kansas, Styx and Foreigner all played and it was awesome.
On the downside though, it was a pain in the ass getting out of the parking lot (especially when I had to pee) and the concert did murder on my ears.
Oh man I remember going to my first concert, going to the bathroom before and then having to go again 30 minutes after it started, then holding for the remaining 3 1/2 hours, and ultimately waiting the nearly hour and 45 minutes after until we got home to use the bathroom @_@ faaaaaaaaiiiilll. And you feel like you lost 95% of your hearing when the music quits XD
My grandma's funeral was today. Got through it, but man. I have never felt so crappy in my life .____.
I took a practice SAT when they offered it and got a decent score; is the ACT much different?

I personally think the ACT is harder. I got a fairly good score on the PSAT and got a good score, but I think my practice ACT score was only like a 30… would like to bump it up a few more points. I guess there was a real ACT test I could have taken yesterday too; now that i reflect upon that, I regret that I didn't go.
Wow, those are three entirely polar careers. What instrument do you play? I've played piano for half my life, and I'd love to take a music theory class. My instructor took it and he's a complete badass at the piano because of it (able to play pieces just by hearing it). Unfortunately, I have no free spots in my schedule to take it. Sort of blows.
:U Went to the beach with my aunt, cousin and two of their friends today. :) Had lots of fun! ^^ My swimsuit sucks though and I had a lil' 'accident' with my top. -3-; And I got more sunburns and they are itchy. :U Dangit!
Woke up a bit earlier than I usually do. Played a bit Pokémon SS until midday when my lil' sis called from her diving camp and told that her eye has swollen and is very sore. We suspected that her sinusitis had spread either to her eye socket or to her forehead so my parents took her to the general hospital of throat-, nose-, ear- and eye diseases and they've been away in different examinations ever since.
I had nothing to do, so I just sat on the couch and watched soccer from TV. As I grew bored to the game, I moved to my computer and I've been here for some hours. Kinda lowsy day.
1am now so.. yesterday it was.
It started shitty when the shop that I wanted to get a new tripod and cleaning kit for my camera was closed. :getlost: Had to rushed from the shop to meet my friends for karaoke. That was great. Especially when I inflicted everyone with my cringe worthy voice.
Had tenderloin steak for dinner and my friends celebrated my belated birthday with a cake that was supposed to be black forest. It didn't look like it and tasted awfully sweet but the thought counts.
Decided against drinking at the pub (and watch the boring football match; seriously which team is against which team? I have no clue at all) after dinner. Instead we (over)paid to pay tekken 6 and street fighter on PS3.
After which I rushed to catch the last train home.

Well your lucky you were able to get a topic so fast.
I know I want to do mine in History, but other than that I have no idea what my topic will be.
And I'm supposed to hand in a rough draft by next week.:getlost:
CAS really isn't that bad. The 50 hours of volunteering can be easily done in a summer week and the rest can just be taken from activities you're already involved in. I've already amassed 312 hours after a year of being in the IB program, and I don't think my marks suffered….that much.
And honestly, a sport like cross country is great for IB. It doesn't require too much of your time and its a solo sport, so you're flexible on those weeks where you have a million test and assignments due.
I like volunteering, I do it every Saturday, but 150 total hours seems like too much. If I do have to drop something, it'll probably be martial arts…for the fall, at least, while I have band practice and football games and such.

Wait, you do know that you can but stuff like band, martial arts and football towards your CAS hours right? In action and creativity?
I'd advise you NOT to do anything about analyzing Harry Potter as its an overdone topic. Same thing with Lord of the Flies or The Bell Jar.
My English teacher was telling me once about how he was sure one of his student's essays was a solid A, but she ended up getting a C.
…..Woke up to the sad news of my aunt having committed suicide today. Pretty sad. :(
hugs I am so sorry D:
Your username makes me laugh so hard, I just pictured an old green '83 F-150 with Zoro's face and with epic swords and flames down the sides while the engine makes a snoring noise. Wtf XD
I woke up at like 2:30 PM today (so not even an hour and a half ago XD) The sleep, after these last 2 weeks feels so good <3
I personally think the ACT is harder. I got a fairly good score on the PSAT and got a good score, but I think my practice ACT score was only like a 30… would like to bump it up a few more points. 30! That's pretty good, I think my sisters highest was a 31.
I'm going to take them both as much as I can…I might have gotten a slightly better score if I hadn't been so groggy. XD One of my teachers gave me a book with ACT practice problems in it, I suppose that's how I'll get ready...My PSAT score range was 21-25 when the recommended on was 22-26, so that's okay. Need to work on math more.
I know, that's exactly my problem; if I was only interested in, say, law or medical, I could pick a college and switch around fairly easily...but all mine are so different. If I don't like biology I can boot out pathologist, but history professor and musician are still pretty far from each other.
I play flute for marching band season and bassoon for concert season. Music Theory class is required for all our incoming Freshmen, we take it really seriously here. Alot of upperclassmen have had trouble fitting band into their schedule; a few every year drop out so they can take higher level math and our Jazz band class isn't compatible with IB's schedule either. It's sort of sad; kids with tons of potential drop out of band, and then don't get the diploma.
I'd love to learn piano, and harp, and violin...I wish I could play things by ear, too, but our Music Theory class wasn't that advanced since it dealt with Freshies; it was mostly refining the basic, how to listen, how to tune to each other, that sort of thing.

Not where I am. :( Our IB coordinator said we can't use band for action or creativity because we're required to go if we're in band. I can use martial arts, and I probably will. I have service covered, and I've got some ideas for creativity, it's just a matter of finding time to do them.
Aww, man. Thanks so much for the tip, though; that saves me alot of time. :)
My sister was the same way; her adviser said it was one of the best essays she'd read. Kind of depressing.

You do know that random football (not soccer lol) you saw on TV was most likely a game from the World Cup? Sorry, just that, the way you said it it seemed to me you had no idea about it, and I was just like "Holy shit who doesn't know about the World Cup?"

Of course it was the World Cup. Those matches were just so poor that they deserve the title "random".
Same thing going on today. Watching the World Cup and having a headache.
found out my tv is broken and i have to wait 2 weeks for it
:(
watched Raw and ROH on the living room TV
Found my Art academy show drawing (Disneyland)
Nothing's going right right now.
We have a mouse/rat in our house that is chewing at the food in our pantry. We are throwing everything away in response. I'm not sleeping at my sister's house due to the situation. Pest control is coming tomorrow.

I woke up not long ago….my mom came home from work for lunch, which she never EVER does unless she's sick or something. She had an argument with her boss; something about her working full time but not getting benefits, or getting paid the right amount...her boss saying they didn't have the money or something like that...she got so angry she came home to simmer down.
I hate it when this happens. I just feel so useless.
So I'm drawing now. Gathering all my materials together…maybe I should put up my own are thread on here...

Try telling me, living in one of the cities the 7.2 earthquake affected the most, as well as the thousands of constant aftershocks and then a 5.7 one yesterday which now caused a bunch of aftershocks again when it started to seem as if they had calmed down.
I did pass on "Information Science"
now remains to be seen "TGA" and "Record of Knowledge"
so far I only stayed in Portuguese (gotta take 4,5)
and tomorrow will have a celebration at my college

Gratz on all the passed exam Captain!
I just returned from a very long trip (my arse is still hurting from all that sitting- damn now I sit again) and I have done a entry exam which demanded of me to use an axe and chop on wood for much longer time than I'm used to. I have now blisters on my thumbs, but somehow I'm stupidly proud of how I got them :3
I actually woke up before noon today so that was a good start. And even better I got over my writer's block. Now I'm just going around the internet a little bit before going back to my writing. …I forget why I came on here in the first place. I thought I had something important to do or say. OH well.
