I thought it was strange how unsympathetic he seemed considering how he essentially served as Shigure's guardian. Then the next page…!!!

The page was so nice. Seeing Akisame like that was a good surprise.
Also i forgot to mention it earlier, but i like how the elder has to fight and eat at the same time.

I LOVED the eating scene! So many comics want to be badass and tell us how these guys can fight for days without food or water, and it's even more badass to show them taking ridiculously quick breakes to eat something and regain some strenght!

Like who/ what manga?
I mostly actually see the majority of examples like the latter except eating more beforehand, or after, (Goku, and Luffy style), and or taking some breaks during multiple fights. Would actually like some of these manga with the opposite circumstances. -

Good episode, Shigure's Die Hard escape was much better than her previous fight. And it seems Matsuena's still remembers how to draw sexy scenes unlike all that ridiculousness with Miu on the previous arc.

You know a female character is great when she's butt naked yet it doesn't even register compared to how fucking much of a badass she is. I fucking love Shigure.

What has this manga done to me. I just like Shigure fanservice so much more then with Miu. Here, having her bound naked actually makes sense, whereas Miu never learns that changing clothes on the other side of a paper wall might be a bad idea. Maybe like isn't the right word, but tolerate…
Plus, her resulting escape was cool. It's great to see her constantly use every weapon in the room to her advantage, and a little funny. Those solider literally walked in and gave her more toys to play with. I'm also relieved we might not get a rescue arc, but with this ending we aren't out of the woods yet.

Sieg always struck me as having definite master-class potential. I mean, he's got the eccentricities down, and he got stronger just by spinning. he doesn't seem to need a teacher to grow on his own, which is a major plus compared to people like Takeda and Kenichi who are where they are ONLY because of the teachings they received.
so like, even if his growth is slower, I think Sieg will end up being top-tier, I don't see how he couldn't. he's the kind of guy who'll only get stronger as he ages, because he just needs time to meditate and spin and sing and listen to the earth to train.

Yeah. But I don't recall anyone ever saying Kenichi is close to Master skilled.

I think that Sieg would win but it wouldn't be a stomp. Currently I think that Takeda stands a better chance now than in the past because of his new ki move thingie, which may allow him to get some hits in. Before he aquired that I think Sieg could counter anything Tak had to throw at him.
But no shame in that Sieg is a beast. Remember in DofD when an exhausted Sieg was untouchable by a decent team? I don't get how Hermit was ever able to beat him. -
Moving on. How long do you guys think it will be before Kenichi becomes an expert and then a master, or do you think the series will end with him as a disciple?

A long way to go, I would say another 10 years. It will end with him being HISTORY's STRONGEST DISCIPLE.

I've said it before, but I expect and desire the series to end with Kenichi beating all the disciple-level threats, getting a little sugar from Miu and approval from The Elder, while the Masters defeat the Master-class threats and save the world or japan or whatever.
then an epilogue chapter, [15 years later…] that opens with the usual Ryozanpaku intro, Apachai Hopachai the Death God of Underground Muay Thai, Sakaki Shio the Brawling 100th Dan, etc, but THEN LAST BUT NOT LEAST we see this tall, buff guy with a hidden face imitating all the moves the masters just did, he stops, Akisame says something like "that was well done, but your form was a little off with that last one there." and Sakaki goes "aw, it was fine. the hell you still doin' hanging around here, brat? we ain't got nothin' left to teach ya!"
and we pan up, still not seeing the face, as the mysterious voice says "Well, you all say I've entered master-class, but honestly I still feel like I'm a disciple! I still need more training!"

then they all get that gleam, "if it's stronger training he wants~~", insert scenes of unbelievable physical torment, but then Miu comes in with some moe worrying or whatever, establish they're a Couple, then maybe end with the Shinpaku Alliance showing up for something and we see all the familiar faces once more.but basically, I want to see Kenichi climb to the top of disciple-class in-story, and then get an epilogue that shows he eventually made master-class. because I think getting to master-class in the scope of the story would be a bit much.

So, I can't tell what the last page with Shigure means. Is it her considering turning traitor? Does the sight of a massive army put her in a state of euphoria? Will the fight continue next chapter? I can believe any of those things happening but it's not clear.
Also, it's funny how lame these cut backs to Kenichi are, especially compared to Shigure's semi-erotic, character revealing and action packed fight. In three chapters he's decided to keep fighting, train super hard, and decided against asking the closest member of Yami next to him. We're mixing an exciting story with Kenichi finding new ways to be boring.

When was the last time it felt like Kenichi truly progressed? It seems like it's always two steps forward and one step back. Also I thought Miu was essentially master level? In short, this whole current arc feels forced.
