I would imagine that there's some copyright leeway for stuff that is produced in a country where it's legal and cannot be easily edited out (particularly because it's verbal). Perhaps also is the idea that subtitled media have a target demographic who wouldn't understand the language being spoken or the context in which the reference is coming up , but that's just me speculating.
In another case, when ASB was localized, while the audio was left completely intact, the translation team who managed the subs and text were particularly creative in many instances (although lazy in others such as "Zipper Man" for Sticky Fingers). The main example I have in mind is where Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap is kept as "D4C" in the subs and as an attack move renamed "Filthy Acts, For a Reasonable Price"

So basically in Japan there are no copyright issues and so they can get away with oingo and boingo or steely dan and all the rest. But in the west there are issues and so Viz and ASB went ahead and made localized names for a lot of the characters. So the subtitles are using the localized names even though they obviously say something else in the audio.
If the show is ever dubbed they will use the localized names for every character (so mondatta instead of oingo). The only one i'm not sure on is polnareff. Viz calls him that and so the subs do but in ASB he is known as Eifell so it depends what the dub goes with.

Purely based on copyright law from country to country. Some countries allow for more strict guidelines as to what is and isn't permissible. For example, in the US, Prince is notoriously bad at trying to make sure nothing about his songs is used without permission, but in Japan, artists are allowed at least to make references to the songs

Iggy's voice sounds ok, better than the one they used for ASB. I'm actually surprised they didn't have Petshop as a DL character in that game. I'm just glad the Holhorse and Boingo episodes are over. Made me remember how much I didn't like those chapters. Did get some laughs, but damn I just wanted to get through reading those.

Not ice. What Dio actually does is cool down his body temperature to the absolute zero and transfer it over other objects and beings, thus freezing them. The first unfortunate person to have a taste of this ability ended up shattered to ice chunks.

This episode was so good! Just the way I was hoping it would be. I really loved how they showed scenes of Iggy's past and how Avdol and Joseph tamed him. Well, sort of… But not gonna lie... That little moment between Kakyoin and Jotaro made me scream. w
Excited for the next two episodes!
Oh, and I've finished Part 4, it was really good! The ending was sweet. Part 5 is pretty good so far, I have to say that I am loving how much Araki's art has progressed and it seems to be getting better and better. I'm still very partial to his old Battle Tendency style, bad anatomy aside. But Vento Aureo is definitely pretty.

The fight was of course amazing but holy shit the mansion scene was the highlight of the of the episode, the anime made an awesome job to set up the mood.
The mansion part was so unnecessarily epic. Typical Jojo.
