That's sorta disappointing. :( I thought it would be some scenes that were cut from the original movie + the new Oda stuff, which I figured was some strawhat interaction, or maybe about those nasty plants that were also at the island Luffy trained at during the timeskip (and how they got to that place).
ONE PIECE: MOVIE 10 ~ Strong World

the SW movie will air on fujitv the next 12/01/2013 at 21:00-23:10
(1st time tv worldwide airing):http://www.fujitv.co.jp/b_hp/130112premium/index.html
for those who want to know if it's a DC version: no it's not.
the movie length is already 1h55 long on the BR + the fuji advert (15min max, which is not much for fujitv) during the airing, it can't be a director cut version like the arabasta movie (and it's not announced like a DC in the ad neither).

Wait, I thought Strong World has already aired on TV?
-
Wow really, a whole year? Wouldn't summer be more reasonable?
-
@Galaxy:

actually you may have right, the guy said 土曜プレミアム for the Saturday primetime, i misheard something else when i watched it before,
even if i don't remember the movie being broadcasted. -
Hello and sorry for bumping this old thread. I want to clarify one thing about this movie, once and for all. So straight to the point: Strong World is a canon or non-canon movie ? I know, that Chapter 0/Episode 0 are canon, but so is the film (I mean is there any official confirmation by Oda that this film is canon?)? Thank you in advance.

Nothing was ever stated to the contrary so as far as I can tell it's non-canon to the manga and simply uses some canon elements. Oda never specifically said SW happened in story to my knowledge.

Ah the memories of this thread. Waiting for SW so anxiously, hoping to get any piece of info and then the joy of seeing it and then finding out it didn't really work as what it claimed to be, even less so when one really thinks about it.

It's canon, Oda even mentioned it was meant to be a story arc within the series early on but he held off due to other elements at the time and just settled on making a movie of it. Sort of the last great adventure of the crew together before they reach Shabody.

really? where was this if you don't mind me asking. I thought it was established that the characters and chapter 0 were canon but the actual film plot wasn't?
-
It was in one of the interviews though I forget which. Besides Chapter 0 ends with Shiki planning the whole East Blue takeover which leads into the film. So…
-
Canon villain, non-canon scenario. I mean, where would the movie take place in the main series?
-

Between Thriller Bark and Shabody they said.
-
Well if it does turn out canon ok, but for the mean time, I'm gonna stick with my stance of Canon character non-canon scenario.
-

But none of the Marines that witnessed the aftermath have commented on it I thought? Also Zoro should have still been worse for wear. The timeline would be super squished if that was the case wasn't it?

Also Brook said that the fight against the Flying Fish Riders was his first fight as a member of the Straw Hats. And one would think that Sengoku would have brought up Luffy's victory over Shiki amongst all his unbelievable accomplishments, especially seeing how he brought those up in the same scene that established Shiki as a canon character anyway.
So yeah. The character Gold Lion Shiki is canon to the manga. Luffy encountering him however, does not fit into the manga's timeline.
This honestly kinda annoys me. As it stands, as far as the manga's concerned, he's just a dangling plot-thread unlikely to ever get resolved. -
Still my favorite OP film

In the US, Fathom Events launched a special event of Strong World on the big screen to celebrate One Piece’s 1000 episode special (and it includes the half hour 3D Straw Hat Chase beforehand). The 7th was the showing of the dub and the 9th is the showing of the sub. Just got out of the dub showing near me.
Wanted to bring up the original thread to see old posts and compare that to my viewing now to see how it holds up. It probably has been about a decade since I last saw the film. I’ll probably leave comments on my new experience just for archive’s sake.
If you can try to catch the showing on the 9th people.

One Piece Vol. O RAW (HQ-MQ), from Raw Paradise:
Strong World is my favorite One Piece movie because it's the first time Oda was heavily involved to the point he actually made a canon manga chapter 0.
I know I'm 12 years late but does somebody have a new RAW scan for Volume 0? The link above is dead and this volume is super rare.
Please help, I would really appreciate it, thank you.
-
Yeah, best film for me still, too. Emotional arc, especially for Nami, and the villain is great.

I had to search through two old laptops to find this, but I've been meaning to take a look through them anyway. This gave me a reason to actually get around to it.

Yes nice!! Oh man, thank you so much.

Hiiiii! Sorry to necrobump this (and others OP FILM threads) but I was wondering if anyone here has some link, or another way to access, Oda's sketches from the movie. I tried to search online but most of the things I came across (on Pinterest, zerochan, etc) were with really crap quality, so I decided to try here. Thanks in advance!

Wow, it's been a while since Strong World premiered.
