If someone would kindly help me translate this, I'd gladly appreciate it. I know it says Avatar was No.1 this weekend, but I don't know if it says One Piece has grossed 4b yen or is going to soon or what.

Actually it's written 40 billion yen, but it's wrong. It should be 4 billion, which is about double of the first 10 days.

So Movie 10 will exceed more than 40$ million. Awesome….

Ok, so got back from seeing the movie late last night. I can't possibly put in half the effort that Greg did in his amazing review or offer any greater insight, and I'm really bad at meshing spoiler/non-spoiler talk, so I guess I'll just keep it general.

I echo Greg's sentiments of dissapointment with certain parts of the film, and I think that because despite Oda being involved, despite the ridiculously awesome trailer and promotional campaigns surrounding the movie, that's just what it is–a One Piece movie, and at times it seems like things are simplified to remind the audience that (I was thinking mostly in regards to the Zoro/Sanji fights). Anyway, I hope that makes sense?

Regardless, I absolutely loved the movie. I'm kind of a manzai geek so Shiki's antics made me laugh quite a bit (and this was kinda awkward in a not so full theatre of silent Japanese people in Saitama). Despite how the Zoro/Sanji fights played out, I still found them to be badass in their own right. What Greg refers to as the best sequence of the film in his review was definitely the selling point for me, and sent chills down my spine. But most of all, I was just really touched and moved by the ending and how the film had set it up. I thought we were just going to get a typical "here are some badass fights and a little comedic ending", but Oda gave it an extra push that reminds us why we care about the crew so much.

I had prepared myself to be let down, and maybe I was with some fights, but the dialogue, character interactions, and just the way everything flowed has me wanting to see it again.

Biggest problem for me is that I can't pick up my Volume 0 until next week.

Anyway, I wanted to add more than that, but need to head out. Shiki merchandise is a must for me at this point.

its a lame attempt to get hits on their site. No one on there has the pull to get a HQ subbed episode of Strong World, at least without the risk of doing time or getting the entire onepiecehq site shut down.

Well, it's December 29th now, and I'm in the Mountain timezone of the US, so it's the 29th everywhere now. They now have roughly 21-22 Hours to prove if it's bullshit or not.

My money is on it being Bullshit, but I've been wrong before.

As far as we know, they're not. But FUNi's been so good to Toei, that I really think they deserve to dub it. The only reason they got to dub Movie 8 was because it was part of the license package. So when they purchased the license in 2007, One Piece Movie 8 came with it.

Ah, okay. That also explains why the haven't done any others yet.
Someone did mention in another thread that it wasn't likely because the English speaking audience doesn't know who Brooke is and that Franky has only been seen through video games, but I bet if the got enough letters, they'd at least consider the possibility.
Regardless, it'll probably be a while before they're able to dub it and put it out.

Yup, Toei's the one that needs to be convinced to license. I'm sure FUNi would've been more than happy to dub Movie 10 (you could tell how much money a DVD of that would make just by looking at the trailers), but I don't think Brook has anything to do with it not being dubbed….If a new crewmember was the sole reason, then Toei would've given FUNi Movies 1-7 by now, since we know all those characters joined already.

We are in the year 2010, when a movie for quarter billion dollars gets on pirate bay before the cinemas.
It was some sort of a dumb luck this one didnt get out yet.

The only way this movie would be coming out in 4 months would be if it would be a lame movie nobody cared about...but as long as their is interest there are pirates out there...

I ll call it pathetic if we dont get the movie within 1 week. (unless ofcourse the movie is only popular in japan and then who gives a fuck about us westerns and when we ll get it)

I believe it was mentioned that Japanese tend to be very against movie piracy, so I doubt we'll be seeing it soon.

Japanese goverment does the same as the USA one…they arrest a few people every year so they scare a few more meanwhile loads of new pirate dudes come on the scene.

A bit overreacting however lets not fool ourselves. They cannot prevent movie getting out, only the pirates can...with their lack of interest.

To this day there has yet to be a movie we would have to wait a DVD release untill we could watch with the exception like I said XYZ movies general mass-es dont care about

And since it is my belief that this movie has cause a lot of rocus I expect it online soon
