I figured Oda-sensei wrote/was very involved with it during the time of the tenth anniversary, I suppose you can call it the big, final gift as part of One Piece's ten years of existence. If this film is canon could it be a glimpse into the future of One Piece to be later finished in the comic and then adapted into the series?

Son Goku's father was originaly only in the anime,from what ive read,and adapted by Toriyama into one panel.

That's why it's called a teaser. Think back to a lot of the movies, we may not know if some of the stuff in the trailer will actually make it into the movie or not.

Regarding Oda's involvement.
He's always served as supervisor and designed all new major characters.
As I understand Mushieur was the first character he actually created entirely himself for the movies from scratch.
This is different though. At first I thought it was the same old same old but on seeing it again I noticed that it makes a big stink over it being 'the first time in OP movie history' that he wrote the story so I'm gonna have to assume at this point that yes, he actually wrote the whole story himself.
Interesting to note the seal on the envelope. It LOOKS like a mikan. Did she leave to do something and tell them via that letter? If so, what connection could it possibly have to Nami since this person/thing has supposedly been gone for 20 years? You don't think….somehow related to the devastation of her hometown?

Wow, that was a pretty neat teaser. I like how their outfits are from that colorspread, which is one of my favorites. And I couldn't entirely tell, but I THINK Zoro had his new sword with him, which kinda makes sense, since Brooke's with them. Just putting it out there.

Oda's break a week ago would seem to be related to the film in some way. This means it is probably completely unrelated to his comments at JUMP Festa for something 'this year' and his previously mysterious comment in JUMP that mentioned something 'next year'. Chances are he either took a business trip to check on progress or something 'Japanese' that takes a lot of time in the business world that Westerners would accomplish by spitting on their palms and shaking.

Also, yes, I rather see this 1st than Choppers movie, and that doesn't mean I don't wanna see Chopper's movie, it has (maybe) Oz, in it, and the movie is in one of my favorite cartoon styles, like Movie 6, so….......! NO offense!

I just watched the trailer and I gotta say it does look good. I wonder what Nami has to do with things… Atleast this time if she is in fact leaving she left a note and didn't steal the ship. I notice they are all wearing the outfits from that awesome colorspread which I'm using as my wallpaper.

WOW! I'm totally stoked. Looking great and a real story written by Oda? Sounds like Toei's really getting their act together! I have to kinda wonder, if Nami disappearing is partially due to the fact that it Golden Lion Shiki or at least assume kind of "on the surface" bit.
Unless something regarding Nami has happened in the Manga that I don't know about.
