The next set is going to have a great cliffhanger with the ending of Episode 26 (since on the trailer for 2nd voyage have Sanji Vs. Pearl, which begins on episode 26.).

Don't count on it. Funimation was unhappy about the early release for First Voyage so its possible that they'll make sure RightStuf will send out the discs when they're supposed to.

We were so excited with how it was selling on some sites, but all these sites (and other ones) are putting massive discounts on it.
This could be good for new fans, as they're probably be more intrigued to buy it cheaper. But we gotta realise a single episode of One Piece takes an estimated $30,000 dollars to dub, FUNi is a big company but they can't afford to let a series as long and unsuccessful in the states to go so cheap.

Yes, but I think what Buuhan seems to be worried about is that some websites may have so little faith in the product that they're discounting it just to be rid of their initial stock. I've said it in another thread, but the fact is, plenty of popular products get a price cut starting out.

I admit, I was among the people who thought One Piece didn't get previews till later (Gerusama) due to K-F's treatment. I actually didn't know better till recently.

Well, finally got me my One Piece DVDs today. It's quite nice. The voices are decent, there's no cuts, all the Japanese audio is there, there's commentary, a marathon feature, textless song THE CRAP THEY'RE STILL USING ZOLO I WANT MY MONEY BACK YOU CREEPS.

the Funimation leaflet in my xxxholic vol. 3 confirms the release date of Second Voyage to be 9/23.(God, I can't believe this account still works, I haven't been around for like 16 months :blink:)

Yeah, my post was kinda related to the news about Second Voyage's release date some posts back, so I guess it could be misinterpreted like that if you hadn't read that discussion. It never occured to me to be very specific about it, as I assumed everyone would catch on pretty quick, the thread topic being what it is. I'll make it more specific.:happy:

I didn't think you were, I was simply congratulating myself on not making a statement which would have revealed me as an Arlong Park artefact having returned after 16 months of absence with dust on the brain.

Wishful thinking on Funi's part. Maybe in the future they'll be out in two month intervals. I think they had to take a One Piece break to work on one of the five other announced series that haven't been released yet.
I know that they had just started on Darker than Black, and they have Claymore, Ouran and a couple other titles.
Oh, the Funi podcast starts today. Maybe answers will be buried within.

I honestly doubt FUNimation is very far in recording. By 'finished with season two' I think whoever said that misinterpreted it as 'set two' because it was recently confirmed that they were only in the twenties and 27+ is set three.

That would have been my general reaction. Of course that's only because the only way I ever would have bought the release in the first place was if I knew they weren't going use Zolo.
