I had an idea today, and I wanna discuss it.
What happens when they get 1000 points? (or however many)
It is possible, in my mind, that there is another point bracket. The originals didn't know about the 100 points and so far, no one has asked if there are any other things to be done with points. Maybe that's what Oka is doing. Saving up points.

There could be, but I doubt it.
I'm pretty sure that there's just multiple weapons you can buy with 100 points, as dictated by the H-Gun, the new GANTZ suit, and the mech.
S'long as you keep playing and performing well, GANTZ'll always have something fancy to give you.

About the weapons… After we have seen this latest power one that smashes the targets into the ground or whatever it does I started thinking about how effective all theese powerups really are.
Isn't the baisic smallest gun still the most effective? I mean the one that sends out bola like shot that then sends the monster to Gantz or whatever it did. Baisicly as long as they get caught it doesnt matter how strong/resistant they are.
(ok this hundred pointer shapeshifter can escape it but against all the solid aliens the small gun seems the most effective) -
The sending gun is pretty slow and predictable. That, and there are ways of getting out of it, as demonstrated by the boss of the Buddha Mission.

Man, I had my guitar in the shop last week and needed somthing to do to occupy my free time so I decided to start reading Gantz. I'd always thought the concept was cool, but never had the time to get into it. All I can say is damn, what the hell was I thinking not reading this shit sooner. One of the coolest friggin stories I've ever had the pleasure of following. So many badass moments, I'm not even going to begin listing all the things I like about this manga.
As for the spoilers, the mecha looks friggin sweet. I've generally really enjoyed the Osaka team so far, so I'm excited to be seeing the Gantz master finally in action, though it looks like we won't get anything really cool until the next chapter at least. I also like Gohn's idea that he is a cripple or something, that could be pretty cool. I'm just all in all looking foward to the next between mission storyline as so much has changed since the last one, and I'm excited to get to know the new guys better.

These aliens make no sense and you know it. They die when plot dictates they should and not a moment sooner

when i first saw the pressing gun i thought it was hot shit. but it failed to kill that one monster and the 100 pointer shrugged it off no problem.
this boss monster in particular defies reason. its ability to regenerate is absurd.

Going back to those spoiler pictures…that's a big ass Gantz suit. That looks to be the end of the chapter, so I guess the fight will start after this one. I just wonder how Oka will fight it off, plus the obvious thing of wanting to know what he looks like.

seriously, i had kinda forgotten about gantz and kept reading it only once in a while after the beginning of the osaka arc. but oka's suit alone made me read it all again over the past few days…
now i'm kinda mad at how lame team tokyo is. they better clear the game a couple of times before the real stuff starts because it looks like they're gonna die quickly if they don't. but it's clear they won't have the time for that.

the tokyo team isnt as hardcore as the osaka group, but they do have a more diverse team. a martial arts expert, a couple psychics, a couple vampires (???), a baby…

i'm not mad at their level of power, i just don't like their approach of the hunt. not one is really into it, you can bet that if they didn't stuck into all the recent events, they would have all left the game the first time they got 100 points.
oh, and i want inaba to die, i can't stand him, he's super bland. so much that i can't remember when he joined.
and yeah, the panda kicks ass. i can't wait for when he'll be surrounded by aliens and will use his suit. come on: panda powers with a suit!!!!

Yea, I think the gantz set-up works really well with an open-ended format. As long as Oku keeps things exciting and interesting, I'll keep reading.
By the way, guys… I was reading volume 8 again the other day, and I was wondering what happened to the Kishimoto clone. Was she ever mentioned again after Kei tried talking to her? Did we ever see any other players with clones?
