ONE WEEK BREAK?! GRAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!
At least it's not the same week as the anime. Those weeks suck.

New titles whee
August 16: 413. Luffy's Hard Trial! The Power of the Snake Sisters' Willpower!!
August 23: 414. Battle with Full-Powered Abilities!! Gomu Gomu vs. Hebi Hebi
August 30: 415. Hancock's Confession - The Sisters' Disgusting Past
September 7: 416. Rescue Ace! The New Destination is the Great Prison -
Huh, I'd have thought that they'd do the Luffy vs. Sandersonia and Marigold fight in one episode. They're going to have to either really drag things out, or do a fair bit of filler fighting.
-
Any info about animation directors?

September 7: 416. Rescue Ace! The New Destination is the Great PrisonThese batch of titles are the best in a while. My fav is the Gomu Gomu vs Hebi Hebi. it just sounds cool and badass. I love the use of Disgusting in the third title, really emphasizes the awful tragedy the Boa sisters went through
@Crossword, I think at this point, Toei has proven themselves to have gotten adept at pacing with smart filler.
Also, crossing fingers for Inoue Gear Second.

Yeah, me too. But now I'm sure they'll ruin it. In gear 2nd he fought with ease, but if they're going to make 15 min fight - it's struggling.

This will be a true test of how adept Toei has gotten at handling pacing with smart filler.

Shouldn't be Snake Sister's "Haki"?
Gets shot

Um, I don't want to get anyone's hopes up with a new reply, but when do the batches of episode titles come out? Is it like the spoilers/chapters in that they usually appear around a certain time or is it a "they show up when they show up" type deal?
-
They usually show up around the 7th of each month.
-
-
This is a piece of information that should go to the first post or something. It's asked for every month
-
Yay, it's the 7th!
They show up sometime today right?
-
Hm, someone posted the upcoming episode titles at 2ch. I don't know, if they are fake. In not we should get ready for filler!
**13.9. #417: Love is a Hurricane! Hancock in Love
20.9. #418: The Nakama's whereabouts: Weather Science and Karakuri Island!
27.9. #419: The Nakama's whereabouts: The Island of huge Birds and the pink Garden!
4.10. #420: The Nakama's whereabouts: The island-connecting Brigde and man-eating Plants!**
#421 would be about Zoro and Brook and then from #422 on Impel Down will finally start!

Yay, Toei finally does something that MAKES SENSE! I was actually expecting that each of the Straw Hats would get a full episode each, though⦠Ah well, I'm sure half an episode will be enough, seeing how the manga only had like, two cover-pages for each of them.
-
They should do one for Enel, he was a strawhat at heart.
The Crewmates' whereabouts: Whalers on the moon and the building of a new empire!
-

Well they had one chapter for them as well, right? Or was it half a chapter? Anyway your right, they finally make sense. I'm looking forward to seeing them again. One Piece without the crew is no good for long.
-
Good move, gives Impel Down and the War some solid breathing space, while remaining in canon (for the most part)
-
My only problem is that it doesn't seem like they're gonna focus on any one Straw Hat for more than half an episode. I was expecting a full episode at least for Each SH.
-
Given what they have to work with, I think 10 or so minutes each way is the sweet spot. Don't want it to be too throw away filler-like, y'know.
-
Yeah, it's just, they're VERY Dangerously close to the Manga. 4 Episodes of SH Filler is only a month of Padding, I would have preferred some more, but Oh Well.
-
They might throw another two oyabun specials in after, who knows.
-
They'll probably have Luffy dwell on each ID floor for longer as well. Hopefully not davy-backesque though.
Still better then Pierott, I guess. "Hey guyz lets take time out from the middle of this arc for a filler sword arc!"
-
Wow, anyone think that these filler episodes are going to be material Mr. Oda wanted to put in but didn't have the time?
-
@luffy-gear2nd4ever:
418,419,420 with no luufy at all!that will make three weeks without next release agony!!!i think those eps will turn out to be boring!!!
You know someone hasn't read the manga when he isn't thankful for every additional minute spent with the crew.
-

I'd think anyone who's been reading the manga would much prefer skipping straight to the next arc, seeing as it's ridiculously awesome.
But whatever~
-

That would be really awful. Even in the manga Impel Down felt like a wild rollercoster ride through a horrorshow. I imagine them to do superlong recaps. They can start with Kuma sending them away + Amazon Lili + Everything at Impel Down. 3-4 min each episode.
@Thousand:

No I think Oda has to many other things on the plate right now. Drawing the manga, working on Movie 10, being a father⦠Also there should be more filler if he really had real stories in mind for the crew members. Like 1 ep. each.

It's because we are patient enough not wanting to see it now in slowmotion but rather in a few months and action packed/fast ^^

Ah good. Robin's story needs some expansion badly.
-
Ah good. Robin's story needs some expansion badly.
Don't get your hopes up. For all we know, it could just be stretched out material of what we already know.
-
That would still be expansion, since the coverstory went from ''Metal Gear Robin'' to ''The Revolutionaries Save the Day'' with absolutely no transition or explanation as to things like how Robin got away to begin with, and so forth.

No, you see, you're failing to comprehend the worst case scenario. The worst case scenario is stretched out bits of what occurred in the manga and not the new info from the cover stories.
-
Ah, I was hoping for an episode each but this is acceptable
! Yeah, I wanted twenty minutes of Sanji being chased by okamas, but ten minutes should be fun enough
-
@ Lion:
How are they gonna do that? Show one picture as a freeze frame for 5 min and then the other picture for 5 min? Of course there will be some kind of transition. Transition, and not just keyframes, that's is what anime is all about. -

Transition, and not just keyframes, that's is what anime is all about.I think you're misunderstanding me. I meant they might just animate their situations as showed by the non-cover story part of the manga. Things like Robin getting saved by Revolutionaries, they won't do but will just show her in chains and that's it.
-
The anime has shown recently that it's more than willing to animate stuff that wasn't in the manga. I don't think we have to worry that much.
-
I hope they talked to Oda about what filler to put in, so they don't ruin whatever Oda had in mind!
-
That would be a great move from Toei. I don't think they will they include the latest cover stories.

Just saying, it IS possible. Hence, worst case scenario.
-
Btw how much does the manga need to be ahead of the anime for it to be comfortable? 50 chapters?
I mean I'm all for adding some filler to the many fights in ID, but I don't want to see 5 min recaps and stuff like that

I think we all agree that, provided Oda doesn't give them further insight, they have very little material to work with. Why would they only use that chapter and not the cover story? For what reason? I say they'll use whatever they can get their hands on, probably make up some stuff on their own.
-
They don't have Brook and Zoro's cover stories to work with, though it seems.
-
Aww I didn't get to do it this week.
But yeah, titles are right.
-
Btw how much does the manga need to be ahead of the anime for it to be comfortable? 50 chapters?
Toei have done well in recent years keeping it at around 30-35 chapters apart. Also, there hasn't been another mega-arc since W7/EL, so they've had breathing space to drop a little filler/specials between arcs and still maintain a good pace on canon material.

I don't think so.
Especially how Zoro and Brook will be the last ones, coincidentally giving time to their cover stories finish in the manga.Of course, there's the possibility of only the landings and chapters pages being animated now, then the cover stories once Impel Down ends, for instance. That would make up for their long absence.
