seeing as my station refuses to air this season till its finished-Im sorry to not be able to discus much guys, much as I love Lost, the descriptions are a litle too litle for serious discusions, but from what ive read, well the flashforwards kinda miss some of the LOST-ian stuff we had in the flashbacks as well.I mean, the Ben/Sayid situation is a nice shocker, but the whole scene kinda doesnt look anything like Lost to me.
LOST Season 4 *Spoilers Abound!*
-
-
Ya it is diffrent (i hated flashforwards at first) but i've gotten used to it. i think it was actually the sayid flashforward episode that changed my mind actually.

Hey guys, I'm sorry, that I didn't respond here to any of you and the whole topics, for a over a month now. (Did anybody even care? lol)
My best friend just died in a domestic fuel (is that the right expression, when more or less your house is burning, and stuff? I'm not sure…) with his whole family, except the father...
Knew about the prolonged Season 4 for some days now, but didn't really feel like responding to it, still thank you, Greg.
Maybe I'm really crazy, but this little topic always seemed like a safe haven for me.
So let's keep it this way, and well, just wanted to thank you all for the stuff in here. Now, let's wait one more week for 4x09.
-
sorry to hear about your friend and his family :(
but glad you come back and yeah less than a week for new lost :D
-
The Bagel.
Challah
Snake in the Mailbox.
and now….
The Frozen Donkey Wheel.
-
Well, as Locke said: "I was wrong!"
! More freighter guys are on the island! And now they've got Alex! I can't believe I actually thought it was Richard and the Others!
-
Oh shit.
That's all I gotta say
-
Ben controls the Monster!
And I was a bit shocked that Sayid started working for Ben on his own free will, as well as the reason.
-
CRAZY episode.
I couldn't believe those spoilers were actually true…nobody believed them LOL
I don't think the next episode will be even CLOSE to as good as this one.
-
Damn good ep this week
! They really killed Alex. Wasn't expecting that. Seems Ben really does know about the smoke monster and can apparently summon it.
! So they're going to see Jacob again, mindfucks are sure to come.
! The preview at the end was interesting, but if Jack really dies, I'll eat my hat. -
copy and paste of my new dork shitty reply;
holy shit
;~;
henry you are fucking awesome again and probably forever
that was good. i was on the phone the whole time and my aunt was crying on the other line during that one scene. poor guy.
when the guys kept shooting people and yet never hit sawyer once (GET INSIDE! bang GET AWAY! GET INSIDE! bang DAMMIT, GET INSIDE! bang) my cousin and i couldn't stop laughing
edit: I'm sorry to hear that, Ganner :<
edit again: How could Jack die? He gets off the island.
-
Haha yeah I actually totally forgot that he is one of the ones who gets off.
derp
-
anyway
BEN LINUS
even more of a badass motherfucker, yes?
-
Ah yes indeed this was a great episode. Also probably the most violent Lost episode to date. Alex died and then all those mercenary guys were killed by the smoke monster. Oh, and I know it's terrible, but I too was laughing when all the cannon fodder Losties kept getting shot as Sawyer told them to get back inside.
And yes, Ben is of course f***ing twisted. Although this episode did show that he genuinely cared for Alex, so I guess there is some love and compassion in him. I actually found Sayid's motivation for teaming up with Ben very believable. Anyway, great episode for Lost's return and well worth the month wait.
-
THE BLACK SMOKE STRIKES AGAIN!
Damn finally stuff are gonna be revealed, hope the next ep. is gonna be about Jacob.
Oh and-
"NO WAI!"Also this confirms it; Saeed IS one of the 6.
-
we've known sayid was one of the six ever since he shot that guy on a golf course.
-
I was actually suspicious of him being one of the 6 since they were supposed to be 'famous' not 'feared like the plague'
-
So, does that mean that Juliet didn't even know about Ben controling the Monster? Remember, back in season 3 when she saw it with Kate, she said something among the lines of "We don't know what it is. But, we know that it doesn't like our fence." Either she's lying, or Ben never let anyone know. Still, we got to find out a bit about what The Monster is.
-
I don't think Ben's people know anything about him, or the island. Except possibly Richard, since he was a native.
I also didn't know the smoke monster was referred to as the Cerberus System. That's a pretty cool touch. Before I learned that, I was thinking throughout the episode the smoke monster is Cerberus, and Ben is a servant of Hades/Jacob.
-
Say, has it been confirmed whether or not Charles Widmore has any connection with the Hanso Foundation? He did say that it was his island before Ben.
-
Don't think they've ever formally been tied together in the actual show outside the Lost ARG. Though, I think it's a safe bet that he (Widmore Corp.) along side the Hanso Foundation was once probably a chief financial backer behind the original DHRAMA initiative.
-
Did you see that?
DID YOU SEE THAT!!!????
THAT'S TELEVISION!!! THAT'S STORYTELLING!!!! BEST SHOW EVER!!!!
That was AMAZING!
-
c'mon, greg
elaborate, man.
i love reading your rants.

I think I mentioned that as a possibility once. I've been thinking the same thing ever since Naomi got onto the island.
Charles Widmore is an excellent villain of the series! I guess that makes Ben an anti-hero of sorts. We know that Ben's already shown his true colors, and isn't the evil, twisted person that we've all believed he was last season. From what we've seen in yesterdays episode, especially the last scene with him in Widmore's bedroom, that really showed that he has good intentions, although his methods are a bit questionable.
-
and isn't the evil person that we've all believed he was last seaosn.
ahem I have said from Season 2's finale that I believe he's a hero.
A highly disturbed hero with control issues and one helluva mother complex, but a hero.
c'mon, greg
elaborate, man.
i love reading your rants.
I just, I don't even know where anyone could begin to talk about this episode. I mean there's just SO much going on that's gonna play a huge factor later.
I mean, this is the fanboy in me but that scene where he dissappears and comes back, "Excuse me James." Sure, maybe he flipped some ancient dials and shit to call the monster, but how awesome would it be if he was 'travelling' at that point and did something we won't see until the finale of the series. The ULTRA fanboy in me would have him witnessing the death of James then come back with his emotionless, "Excuse me James."
ANYWAY, that's just the giggling schoolgirl in me.
Seriously, where do you go with an episode.
Shit blew the fuck up.
Daniel is awesome.
Jack's getting a visit from 'Aunt Flow'
Daniel & Co. really DO know more about the mission.
Sayid becomes Anakin.
The (probable) conclusion of the Nadia story.
Time/Space travelling Ben with a goddamn Halliwax jacket and shady wound.
ALEX DIED
BEN LET ALEX DIE
Widmore ORIGINALLY 'owned' the island
Smoke monster FUCKS SHIT UP
Going to see Jacob
Claire almost died
Red shirts dropped like flies
Locke 'can't be allowed to die'
Jin and Sun are mute
In 45 minutes of a TV SHOW
A TV SHOW
I give up. I mean, I have some pretty crazy wacky creative ideas and I love to make stories and shit or put my imagination to paper, but this is on a whole other level. I suppose it depends on where they go from here but I don't think anyone could argue this is shaping up to be one of the most intricate and expertly told stories of all time.
Sure there are 'Stranger in a Strange Land's' here and there but when you get these episodes you just know they are in control and know EXACTLY what they're doing.
Just fantastic. I dunno how I'm going to survive until next fucking February come June.
-
Red shirts dropped like flies
^^I loved how they perfectly mixed a really tense scene, with a hilarious wink & a nod to the fans, without it being too over the top.
I mean, SHIT! A log carrier & a red shirt dying within' moments of each other. Love it.
-
insert image of cast member winking
Yeah I was laughing my ass off, Darlton must have had a laugh thinking that up. At the same time it established a nice, "They're NOT fucking around", atmosphere.
-
-
Jacob better dish on what ol'Smokey actually IS.
Don't think I could bear anymore blatant question dodging on that particular matter.
Time to fess up.

Yeah, seriously. I did think it was ridiculous enough without you pointing that out. It did feel very Star Trekky.
-
Jacob better dish on what ol'Smokey actually IS.
Assuming we actually meet Jacob in the first place right?? ^O^
No really, I believe they're going to wrap up a good deal of the island's lingering mysteries by the end of the season. I dunno about Smokey, but when you think how far we've come knowing about 'the Others' and what they do, it's pretty incredible just how much we've learned.
It's actually come to the point where when asked about who they are by new/curious viewers, even though I genuinely try to explain, I find myself repeating a mantra from the show itself, "It's not that simple."
It really, REALLY isn't. They've taken their time explaining and revealing bit by bit and even AFTER you put it all together, it really is complicated as hell and the best answer just comes down to two things.
Whether you're 'good' or 'bad'.
-
@Battle:
Time to fess up.
I WANNA KNOW ABOUT THE FOUR-TOED STATUE DAMNIT!
Oh and what do you guys think of Sawyer now? He really seems to have changed during his stay on the island. IMHO more than some of the cast.
-
My feelings are that we're very close to getting something substantial in regards to the black smoke, not a total disclosure of course, but something meaty, with some real gristle that fans can really chew on & savor, without letting the cat out of the bag completely.
I think the writers can only fake out the viewers so much and with Locke's question still persisting more so now than ever, it almost seems that they've committed to seriously indulging the viewer in some solid information about 'what it is' and somehow if they do manage to contact & converse with Jacob, he probably wouldn't be the type of person/spirit/entity to be all wishy-washy and indirect about it.
..and even if Jacob doesn't reveal anything, Ben has exposed his own lie, so there's no way he can play coy anymore, Mr. John "Stick a grenade in your gob" Locke, will get answers. Either way, I have high hopes for the next two episodes and the remainder of the season in terms of solid monster development.
-
^^
WELL, they can change their mind, but in an interview they said they didn't want to reveal the truth about Smokey until the end of the Series.
-
@Freeman-12:
I WANNA KNOW ABOUT THE FOUR-TOED STATUE DAMNIT!
I can help you, I have answers….
"The true story was that the statue was it originally stated to have six toes in the script, but ABC executives mandated that it better have only four toes, which was considered less "weird" than six toes."
-
people are born with extra toes ALOT.I read about a kid with 8 fingers on one hand.

Ah, I love unintentional humor in Lost. That was the best moment since Locke was too busy playing chess to help Sayid and Kate with Mihkail.
And of course, there's the Jackfaces. I should watch some episodes on DVD and pause just to see how ridiculous Matthew Fox looks most of the time he's on screen.
-
Ah, I love unintentional humor in Lost.
Oh believe me, that was intentional. Darlton must have been laughing their asses off when they concocted it.
Jackfaces are fucking awesome. Just browsing them at Lostpedia had me on the floor.
Anyone else think that Ben's Excellent Adventure may not have exactly transpired in the order we perceived it?

I had almost given up hope of there actually being a season 3 original soundtrack. So I stopped routinely checking Michael's site & Varese Sarabande after January, but a random tag search of Giacchino on DarkUFO brought some startling news:
LOST fans have been going crazy waiting for this Season 3 soundtrack. And here it is! Finally! And this one is special. Composer Michael Giacchino composed some of his most complex and captivating music for LOST’s third season. The season contained so many highlights that we couldn’t squeeze them all onto a single CD! So here’s our own LOST surprise … Disc One of this Season 3 soundtrack contains the best music from the season up to the two-hour finale. Disc Two features the complete original score from the two-part finale episode Through The Looking Glass.
No fan of LOST will be able to do without this one! Michael Giacchino’s music for LOST has consistently ranked among the medium’s very best and for the third season he was really able to let loose. His music is moving, compelling, more than a little tense, mysterious and heartbreakingly beautiful.
LOST Season 3 is the soundtrack everyone has been waiting for and now we offer more than could have even be hoped for. 2 CDs for little more than a single!
Available: May 6th
Definitely dropping cash on this right now.

cool, cool glasses.

As much as I hate using the "Ship names" …......
! We saw some Jater action going on in a flashforward! Now, all that's left to find out is if this happens before or after Jack's breakdown.
-
Lost is on now, just gotta say…WTF. Lost loves messing with its viewers -_-
! Im going with before the breakdown. EDIT–i was wrong -_-
! Russo is really dead. wasnt sure of that one. Karl was obvious tho -
! And Hurley's creepiness grows the more we see him off the island.
-
! I'd be insane too if a dead friend visted me regularly lol.
! Edit–
! ...WTF?! GREAT EPISODE. lol -
! It's been awhile since Christian Shepard on the island creeped me out. Seeing him holding Aaron was the biggest WTF moment with him to date.
-
@Senshi:

Yes it was (we can now type without spoilers right?) but previews show claire so shes in no danger it seems. but the scene where Jack told Kate she wasnt even related to Aaron implied he knows hes his uncle. this was a really good episode with quite a few wtf moments. and the whole talk about sawyer staying behind was interesting, looks like some where given the chance to stay or go. thats cool.
The best scene for me was Christian sitting in the hospitals waiting room. the music and suprise of someone else (the doctor) gave it a creey and really cool feeling. Tho there seems to be a lot of "dead" people lately and another ones comming next week lol.
-
I was hoping we'd see what Locke and Co. were up to this week. Oh well.
At least we now know how Jack became a pill-popping Alchoholic.
