Sanji would be proud of him, he beat her without actually hitting her! Can't wait to read the trans, thanks a lot for the raws.
Chapter 466 "Conclusion" Discussion

-
great fight. unfortunately much better than absalom vs sanji. dunno why oda somehow stopped givin´ sanji good fights… oO
lysop showed us all what to think about how far he will go for his dream. he bashed perona, without really bashing her xD. great man.
hopefully zorros fight will not take too much longer. i´m too looking forward to frankys and choppers fight to wait another two weeks... slice ryuma and then its done for... -
Hahahahaha holy shit that was the best finisher since Luffy oneshotting Bellamy. Fucking hilarious. Both TB fights have been pure gold so far.
-
Zoro is being knocked around with his bandana around his arm , so I don't think he is going all out here yet.
Him lending brooks sword would be brilliant as a finisher , have to agree there -
Let's hope Perona won't be able to wake up from her shock and start terrorizing everyone again. Didn't know that Usopp was this much of a gentleman Despite that, I'm satisfied with the way this fight turned out.
Did Ryuuma send Zoro through the roof?! On the other hand, maybe it's a sign that Brook should finish his own fight? -
Ho nice, it's out.
-
Rar? Man, why me? ._____." Laptop can't read .rar, can't upload… whatever I need to upload to read .rar... and the v2-site is making problems, too. DARNIT! This isn't a good week ._."""
-
Usopp still blows.
Good to see Ryuuma is a beast though. After two relatively weak opponents it's nice to see a Thriller Bark fighter who can more than hold his own.
And Franky and Brook = pure win. Their facial expressions are priceless.
-
Uh oh… Dinty's not gonna like it that Zoro's lost already....
He's even lost a sword already, but I can't really tell which one. Any help anyone?
Also, do you think the exploding move Ryuma used could be a move that Brooke knows? If so, Brooke is getting even more awesome!
That kind of explosion seems more based off of swordsman strength than anything inherent in the actual technique. Considering the "sky splitting" incident with whitebeard and shanks, it seems likely that upper tier swordsmen can make any attack into that kind of wall shattering projectile.
@natli:Let's hope Perona won't be able to wake up from her shock and start terrorizing everyone again. Didn't know that Usopp was this much of a gentleman Despite that, I'm satisfied with the way this fight turned out.
It's not that Usopp is such a gentlemen, it's that shounen manga frowns on female characters being physically abused by hero characters. Only a bastard would hit a lady so Usopp had to use a psych-out technique.
The way he did it was awesome though. He was playing mind games with the girl who's the master at destroying her enemies will. Usopp could consistently have the best fights in the series if he keeps this up.
Edit:@Aldrich:
Usopp still blows.
Aww, I was hoping that now that Usopp is finally fulfilling some of his potential, you'd despise him a little less. He's not a whiny brat (as much) any more, so what problem do you have with him now?
No worries though, I don't mind a little character bashing. It keeps the forum lively.
-
really enjoyed ussop's fight
also brook looks so funny in last page
-
Awesome chapter. I loved Usopp's finisher.
And wow, I'm actually looking forward to a Zoro fight? How'd that happen?
-
My first thought when I saw that hammer was…"Where the hell did he pull that out from?" Ussop seems to have a habit of pulling out weapons to large to fit in his pur-...utility bag. The 5-ton hammer, the Kabuto, and now the 10-ton hammer.
-

Sticky star, cockroach star and giant inflatable hammer as a finisher.
Once he gets paired against an opponent who isn't a little girl he'll quickly go back to being the manga's token crying punching ball.
-
I was hoping for an impact dial to the face but I can see how that could be cruel, but completely scaring her sh!tless is good enough.
Well she ain't gonna join the crew anytime soon. Still hoping that she'll come back near the end as a completely new person…insane Perona!

Well the Hippo Zombie got an Impact Dial to the face.
Which was another badass scene. Usopp-badassery is awesome.

Don't you think you're hurrying a little, there? I didn't get the impression Zoro lost at all.. he can easily come back while Ryuuma is distracted.
As for the sword he lost, you mean the one that he lost grip of while he fell [I'm having trouble focusing my eyes at the moment + my normal bad attention to detail o_o]? If so, he could just pick it up.. -
Never had a doubt.
Zoro's expressions rock BALLS. That'll be a fun fight.
-
awesome Oda!
Good chapter even if i hope it was the last time i saw Ussop crying like a bitch during a struggle.

i found a translation on mangahelpers if you want to see it go to

@Cap'n:
Awesome chapter. I loved Usopp's finisher.
And wow, I'm actually looking forward to a Zoro fight? How'd that happen?
I think it's because he's gonna actually have to bust his ass to get a win here. He'll have earned that sword by the time he wins.
-
wow… a very nice chapter.
Ussop can be very awsome if he wants to. and I really like his tactic in fight. that's totally awsome. the impact is just cool....
but on the other hand... poor Perona.... I must agree, cockroaches are extremly disgusting, and have that many crawling in your body is .... shiver
btw, seems Zoro got a hard fight. I think he lost Kitetsu there, because I could only see Wadou there. arrgh... really looking forward for next chapter already >_< -

If so, he could just pick it up..Nope, zoro's down for the count. Definitely, definitely. Maybe Usopp will catch up and save his ass?
He didn't just drop it. When he goes flying through the wall he only has his right hand sword. This means that Ryuma disarmed his left sword, leaving the three sword fighter with only 1 plus a broken hilt.
I've double checked and it looks like he still has Kuina's wadou ichimonji but has lost the cursed sandai kitetsu. Has the cursed blade finally turned on him now that he is potentially facing a stronger opponent? His dropping of that sword could have long lasting ramifications. Do swords forgive?
-
Finally found the rest of the chapter…and I am more impressed on how Usopp was able to lie and fight his way at the same time to defeat Perona! After that I think she's probably been scarred to life with the thought of roaches and the 10-ton Hammer! As for the other part...I know we're in flashback mode, but somehow there has to be a reason for how he fell to the zombie...too bad we have to wait two weeks to see what happened next.
-
Awesome chapter! My love for Usopp is now completely renewed. Even though Perona wasn't as threatening, Usopp pulled out some awesome tricks, and defeating Perona with a bluff is totally Usopp-like. The 10 ton hammer is a great way to capitalize on that old gag.
As for Zoro, I just love his expressions in this chapter. Good to see at least one enemy in this arc who's no slouch when it comes to fighting.
-
Actually the translation on mangahelper has Franky and Brook saying the duel is over… That'd be awesome if Zoro really lost.
And Franky's last line is hysterical.

Ooh, thanks for the link! Twas an awesome read.

Nice to see that Usopp isn't a wuss-shit that'll hold back on a sleeping female, like most of the users on this board, apparently.
And people act like Zoro's never dropped his swords before. Zoro vs. Mr. 1, anybody? He used one sword to win that fight.
-
Ryuuma's already dead, so maybe Oda will break his own rules and let us see a decapitation.
Also, I wish somebody would post a .zip file of this chapter. -
Loved this chapter! Really!
Usopp finally won a 1x1 fight, and did that without changing into a serious and bad-ass character! \o/\o/\o/\o/
I hope Zoro did really lost and they have to, somehow, make Ryuuma eat salt.
Or, at least, this fight become REEEEEALLY hard! Since Mr.1, we never saw Zoro having a hard fight :/ -
I dont think Zoro will take loseing. In his mind, taking out a man who took out a dragon that he thought was a myth is a huge step in becoming a great swordsmen. At least that what I'd think if I were in his shoes.
Edit = > heres a theory. Perhaps before Zoro gets a new sword he'll use his broken one one more time. How will he use a broken sword? Its a shounen manga, my guess is he'll swign it fast enough that it'll create the illusion of an actual sword and still be able to cut.
-
@Cyringohn:
And people act like Zoro's never dropped his swords before. Zoro vs. Mr. 1, anybody? He used one sword to win that fight.
Mr.1 was a ponderous and slow one trick pony. As long as Zoro could cut steel, he only needed one sword to take him down.
However, taking away zoro's swords severely limits the repertoire of attacks he has access to. Remember how much trouble he was having with the likes of hachi before Johnny and yosaku threw him their swords? Likely, zoro will need all three to even scratch ryuma.
My serious prediction is that franky will recover the cursed sword and brooke will super speedily give him that and the cane sword to even Zoro's odds against ryuma. As to brooke saying the duel is over, well… neither he nor Franky have been witness to Zoro's super human endurance. He always gets up again, so there's really not much reason to suppose he won't do the same now.
-
For all the records, Ryuma can still be stronger than Mihawk (I doubt it, but), since is unlikely that Ryuma even met him….
-
Sticky star, cockroach star and giant inflatable hammer as a finisher.
Once he gets paired against an opponent who isn't a little girl he'll quickly go back to being the manga's token crying punching ball.
That is his fuction in the manga. He is the weakest crewmeber and he wants to be a brave pirate of the sea. If he would already be a killing machine, his dream would be fullfilled.
The dialoge between sanji and sogekind in enies looby clearly showed, that its not his task to take out the strong bad guys, but to take out the range villians.
Ussop fighting some musclemonster martial arts villian wouldn`t fit in the story.
-
Zoro's never gonna lose again. Well, maybe he will, but not to some noseless underling in a Halloween arc.
-
Wow, that was one of the best fighting oriented chapters in years. Usopp kicked some serious ass there. And Zoro looks like he might finally have a difficult opponent. His fight might actually be cool too. I haven't been this excited for a new chapter in a long time.
-
Okay, keep in mind that I don't really care who defeats Ryuuma. There's a couple things people aren't accounting for, here.
Zoro has a multitude of reasons to defeat Ryuuma, yes. He needs another sword, Ryuuma just happens to have one of the 21. They already started dueling, Zoro said he would never lose another fight, etc. All this stuff has been mentioned.
But people are acting like Brook doesn't have a reason to fight Ryuuma. Ryuuma completely ruined Brook's shit TWICE. Does that mean he has no chance against him? Luffy lost twice to Crocodile before defeating him, remember? Ryuuma threatenens to cut off Brook's only prized possession, has Brook's shadow, and laughs in Brook's face while using his own attacks better than he does. If anything, Brook has MORE of a reason to fight Ryuuma.
That said, I'm kinda hoping for an outcome that people haven't even mentioned yet: teamwork. There's 3 Straw Hats in there, all of which are pretty damn useful. They should just team up and take his ass out, or throw salt in his mouth. Whatever happens though, I'm fine with.
-

But.. but.. but but but but but but but but!
The flashback of 5 mins ago stopped in the middle.I agree with some of your stuff, but damn, it really didn't give the feeling. If everything was explained this chapter, I'd understand, but I can't really picture an explenation on the start of the next chapter without Zoro coming back. It looked pretty serious with Zoro landing, right? But such situations happened many times before.
I'm curious where the Kitetsu is though. There are two options as to what happened to it: 1) It abandoned Zoro, because he could have won with it but lost, or 2) It was loosened up merely because one sword needed to be lost for Oda's story to continue, but it's more fitting than Ichimonji.
I'd bet on the 2nd one honestly, but actually it could be both.. grrr I'm confused.Although I'll hate it, it's possible that after Zoro lost Brook will take on Ryuuma and defeat him. I'd reeaaaaaally hate that.. Brooke was proven to lose already, and this is not YYH when people gain strength just like that.
-

True, but a change in strategy could mean everything. Just like Luffy getting stabbed and dried before coating his fists with blood to take out Crocodile. Perhaps Brook will stop trying to best Ryuuma at swordsmanship and salt purify him?
-
what if oda make a huuuuge twist and makes franky fight ryuuma?
i dont think so but who knows?

Hah, I wouldn't put it past Oda. It would kind of make for such a lackluster fight on an emotional level though, since Brook and Zoro already have so many reasons to defeat Ryuuma.

Zoro would loose his pride as a swordman. He would rather die than let this happen. If Ryuuma would use other things than his sword, there would be no problem with it, but he uses only his sword. So it cant be a teamup.
But Franky and Brook dont know how strong zoro is. they never saw him fight. So the fight is definitly not over yet. -
After read 464-466 all together
So far Usopp vs. Perona was the best fight of this arc. I felt sorry for Perona though, she looked so low begging to Usopp don't pwn her. Still, her DF abilities rocked in the fight, even more than Usopp's attacks.
And when this damn cover story will end?
-
what if oda make a huuuuge twist and makes franky fight ryuuma?
i dont think so but who knows?
That would be SUPER! Unlikely, but super.
-
Usopp: You had no idea who you were messing with…when you came at me with negativity and lies for weapons!
My god, this line made me fall in love with OP all over again.
-
True, but a change in strategy could mean everything. Just like Luffy getting stabbed and dried before coating his fists with blood to take out Crocodile. Perhaps Brook will stop trying to best Ryuuma at swordsmanship and salt purify him?
But the almighty truth is that Zoro is better than Brook [DAMN I need to get used to that!], and anything that Brook could do Zoro could too in terms of combat and against Ryuuma. If it was so easy to purify Ryuuma, Zoro could've done it already.
They can get a teamwork and try to purify Ryuuma [just read your previous post], but can you imagine Zoro resorting to anything like that? He'd try to reclaim his pride at all cost.EDIT:
Eh, Kabul beat me to it. -
Man I really need to know what happens next chapter. If they cut to Chopper's fight already the tension is gonna build too much~!
-
No OP next week? Oh well! Can't wait for the next chapter though because this is looking good!!
-
Dont Flame me but Why no One Piece Chpt next week.

Ryuuma kicks so much ass…
Somehow though i get the feeling from reading the translation Ryuuma's personality is a mixture of both the samurai and Brooke. Maybe Ryuuma was able to retain some of his own personality?
I also want to see more of Jigoroh too...
What I think would be cool is if Zoro used some spirit that showcased a dragon. He did do one attack based on a dragon against Kaku. Also Ryuuma himself said that fighting him was like fighting some large beast.

Holiday I believe. Unless I read that wrong in the spoilers forum.
