I printed out the big calendar Oda made a while back…but how would you celebrate it?
How will you celebrate One Piece's tenth anniversary?
-
-
I shall dance a merry jig in a public place while yelling "YAY!!!! It's lasted five years longer than he orginally planned it to! Here's to the next ten years!" All the while reciving bewildered stares from the people around me who have no idea what I'm talking about.
Those people are always mean to me…
-
I'll keep continuing with my daily life.
And post "Congrats Oda" in this thread when that time comes.
-
Excellent plans, folks…ya know, I never heard one thing about One Piece's tenth (though I knew it was this year) and no one ever mentioned it to me. I've been a One Piece fan for years, and never got any notice of it-until I got a pic of that calendar thing...it was awesome.
-
Tenth Anniversary? Wow.
Oh, I suppose I'll re-read all my tankobon and bake a cake for myself or something. ^^A private celebration indeed.
Too bad we can't all personally get together and party or something.
-
forgetting a show's anniversary is really common. That happened with the creator of JTHM until his editor reminded him and made a big deal out of it.
how shall I celebrate? probably gonna upload the Enies Lobby arc episodes into my iPod and then watch them all. I'm very boring. :)
…wait a minute....the 10th anniversary is sometime in August, right? Isn't that the same time the new One Piece Funimation dubs are set to release?
-
I thought it was in December, when volume 1 first was released in 1997…
-
I will buy the issue where OP turns 10 exactly.
-
I will watch Naruto. lol jk, I don't know what I'll do probably watch my favorite OP episodes.
-
August 4th, not that long off. I guess I'll just continue on normally. I am happy and proud enough to be a One Piece fan.
-
I shall get drunk…
and people will ask why you get drunk?......
and I will say for One Piece ..then I will be made fun of...but I shall be happy -
Here's looking forward to the next 10 years, that is if the story continues on for that long. Either way, if "One Piece" ends by then, we'll still have the memories, and besides, we can still look forward to another manga from Eiixhiro Oda.
You know, since Oda-san said he originally planned for the series to go on for five years, how exactly did things end up the way they did?
-
probably gonna delay watching my iPod. gonna dress up as a pirate, pour salt on my neighbor's yard and bury treasure there, and drink rum even though I'm not old enough. 3 bottles in a short time to turn me into Monster Point
-
I'm gonna party like Shanks and Drink like Zolo!
-
I will just be on this forum as always.
-
@Flaming:
I'm gonna party like Shanks and Drink like Zolo!
you're going to drink in the morning? nice. better get some aspirin though
-
I am gonna drink ALL the time! Party TIME!
-
Well, I think Oda could do some special thing…
I won't do anything, since none of my friends watch animes...
I could do something with other people that likes OP -
I will smile and think back, and then I will wait for the 15th anniversary to do so again.

I could do something with other people that likes OPOda is gonna do something…In Japan. There's gonna be a party at some beach house and there's gonna be a big OP show at Universal Studios in Japan. here's a link to a thread with details on it: http://www.kaizoku-fansubs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=7219
now I wish I was in Japan right now. oh well, maybe in 10 years…
-
I never envied the Japanese till I became a One Piece fan…

I too agree …. man that is easily the quote of the month
goes to cry in corner -
I think I might actually fly the strawhat flag then.
-
I'll just countiue reading it and see how much longer would it be. 10 years is long, I wonder what would it be 10 years later.
-
@joekido:

Legend.
That's all One Piece can become, a legend. Greatness.
-
In 10 more years One Piece might suck. Or lose its value and my interest.
-
I'm not going to celebrate a japanese comic book anniversary thank you very much.

I'm not going to celebrate a japanese comic book anniversary thank you very much.
it's not just the comic. it's the anime.:getlost:

Aldrich, seriously, why are you still reading this japanese comic book then?
What are you even doing on this forum? If you can´t appreciate the story then couldn´t you at least just go away like far far away?
Seriously. "Dude".
-
I keep on posting here cause it's the only place where people talk to me =(
-
Now you´ve made me cry in sympathy and compassion.
-
Geez…come on, quit making people sympathize...you're causing this thread to go off topic. If you won't celebrate it at all, simply do not comment.
-
I'll keep continuing with my daily life.

QFT
"Congratulations on 10 years. Hopefully there will be 10 more!"
-
I'll end up just forgetting
-
I'll quietly ride my bike to the corner store, with a fake i.d., get a couple of bottles of rum and drink untill I start talking like Shanks and laughing like Buggy XD
-
I didn't made it, and I doubt it would hurt Oda's feelings if people that he doesn't even know don't celebrate the tenth anniversary of his manga. But it would suck if they don't make a party for Oda, that's the least Jump could do for him after years of writing/drawing a story that he planned to end much early…
-
whatever it is.. I'll be reading OP, watching episodes and speaking like a few of the characters XD
-
I do a good Sanji and Usopp impersonation.
-
I might draw a huge group picture of all the Strawhats celebrating their 10 years of awesomeness (Even though it's only been, like, what, 2-3 years in the OP world?)!
I'm also going to make a huge banner and put it over my door. My parents will be all like 'o __O'.
And, of course, I'm gonna make a big cake and draw Luffy's face on it in icing or something. With writing, too!
-
I'll get so drunk that I'll go off on my own quest for One Piece and fight random people in the street while saying stuff like "Don't you dare make my navigator cry!" And then wake up the next morning surrounded by gold and treasure and I won't know why until I read the calender and think outloud, "One Piece…"
-

This is one reason why living in Texas sucks… only beer & wine are allowed to be sold in corner stores. To get liquor, you have to go to a liquor store, which by Texas Law, closes at 9pm. Fucking ghey-ass conservative/religious state.
On Topic: I'll probably self-medicate while watching movie 6.

Apparently [sp? I'm not sure.. but spell check.. uh] 2-3 months. Some underdogs we got there.
Celebrate.. eh. I'll stop thinking for some seconds or something.
-
Probably just go on with my daily life, read the new issue, maybe order a few volumes of One Piece offline (so he gets a bit of extra cash), and probably watch some of the episodes of One Piece I liked the most, and top it off with drawing some OP fanart.

Well, I got volume 35 thanks to Local which I haven't really read. I'll save it for this occasion.
-
I bought some meat and grog
then I drew a black X on my arm -
I'm probley going to have a marathon of one my favorite arcs of the series. Probley ether Alabasta or Kuro.
-
ill go "oh hey cool 10 years" and go on with my usual daily routine
