Personally (and I'm not representing anyone but myself when I say this!!) I don't care. As long as people will watch, enjoy, and support FUNi, it doesn't matter to me. Don't be surprised if YouTube videos and the like wind up getting taken down though.
I do think it's a bit crazy how some people are going to take the dub and paste it over the Japanese version to get it "uncut" – that's what the DVDs are for :blink:

I'm going to post after the show, since my computer is not in the same room as my TV. But I will post my reaction and over all thoughts on the voices so far, and will not be too hard on them cause I know I will upset people if I am critiqual(sp?).
But I really can't wait. 11 more hours to go now. That art meme I did really ate some time…. o_o;;;

Yeah, seriously…that's just ridiculous. Why settle for a poor quality splice job when you can see it in full DVD glory? You won't be able to edit the DIALOGUE anyway, or put in the name changes. If you want to see stuff like blood so badly just watch the current Japanese versions that we've all been watching already.

Either way, I have always fully intended to buy FUNimation's DVDs when they come out.

I believe the intent is to distribute the TV dub online without having to worry about all the crap CN puts over the screen or lousy video compression.
Slap the TV audio over a raw and you essentially have a visually uncut video file of the TV dub.

Eh, I still think it's a strange idea. I've seen TV rips that are good quality and I feel like some of the "crap" that cartoon network has is part of the package, like are they going to keep the eyecatches, what they do with the ending, even what commercials they show.

I got one of my friends to stay over and watch it. He doesn't really watch One Piece, but his little brother does so he gets the gist of it. He's a HUGE anime fan (much more so than I, but I'm not really really into anime anyway), and hates mostly anything American (despite being American himself), and has a weird sense of humor. So this will be an interesting night
On another note, whenever we hang out, I never get to do anything I want to do, so this shall be a bit tedious. No I don't want to watch Lucky Star on my crappy computer with the speakers on so everyone can look at me weirdly. No, I don't want to play that game with no multiplayer so I can just sit and watch you play it (and do it horribly). Does it anyway

I thought it was a clever title, everyone has been hyped for the dub, and adding into it that Skypiea is pretty much heaven, I thought it fit.
I probably won't even watch the dub unless I happen to catch it. I don't really watch TV.

We did the translations in small batches, and my first batch started at #149. So I'm not as familiar with these first few episodes as I am with ones I've done.

About 3 weeks ago I had a dream about the Funi dub, where I was in walmart passing by the TV section and the dub was playing on a flat screen TV, and it was just like the original. With a TV 14 rating and everything.

It was wierd, because I was at a convention hall, or something. (I've actually never been to one)
The room looked like a giant tan lecture room. I was sitting at some kind of cafateria style table, facing the opposite direction of the projection screen, and I was talking so some old bald dude about One Piece. He didn't seem to know much about it though, he was just nodding and stuff. Then I turned to look at the screen as it started… and I got a phone call (from the physical world), and woke up...I'm not even joking =I How strange.
EDIT: Now that I think about it, that bald dude may have symbolized th Funimation dude from the One Piece Q/A videos on You Tube...
