Gee, I didn't realize how harsh people could be. So people are actually faulting this game for things like the programming choices with physics? Isn't that kinda part of the balance of the game… Like they make it easier in order to keep it from being frustrating? It's not hard to make physics realistic, it's not too complex math-wise, that's why all the old video games have it. But I guess it's a matter of how the control feels, too. I dunno, see's over critical somewhat to me.
I've seen a bunch of videos and I can't say I've looked into it as deep as some of you guys or the people you're talking about, but it looks good. Doesn't look ground-breaking but it looks good.
Honestly I never quite got all the complaints with a lotta the previous games, I liked the Sonic Adventure games. Though some of the later ones had boring parts or made things too simple or too convoluted, they weren't really BAD. Just not say, as good as the 3D Mario games, the series didn't naturally evolve into 3d as well. I think they still may find some good way to make the games in the future.
Oh yeah, and what's gonna happen with the other episodes? Supposedly there'd be Tails and Knuckles, but it seems like this "episode 1" has a whole game in it by itself. That's also something to wonder about. Though I doubt they're gonna change the physics engine.
If I recall there was some statement made a few months ago where they said they were aiming to improve it over time and it wasn't like the games could drastically improve in just one game, and all the problems could be fixed. This game falls into the "trying to implement 2D ideas into a game" category, and maybe they'll get into trying to make the 3D game more like how the fans want, too. Like with the light levels in Unleashed.
