Chapter 364 "Kokoro" Discussion
-
thx a lot, ocean and ooshi78
-
Thanks Ocean and ooshi!
Amzing color spread, I love it, everyone wears cool clothes, especially Zoro and Sanji. :) And I hope Paulie will follow them to Eneas Lobby…
-
This upcoming arc is sounding better and better. Island of Judgement with a vast underwater prison. I wonder if Devil's Fruit abilities will be nullified there, since they're under the sea. Even if they're not, I'm almost sure criminals and former Shichibukai like Crocodile will be there in seastone chains. It would blow my mind to see a once proud, bound and tortured Crocodile on his last threads and hear what he has to say about Luffy and Robin.
Who's willing to bet we'll be reunited with Tom by the end of this arc as well? Hopefully still alive, although with the amount of time he's been down there it may be doubtful. Seems like it would have been better for him if the marines hadn't been using tranqs.
Arlong could be there as well I suppose, although I sort of doubt it. He and his mermen aren't much in comparison to the REAL big fish in One Piece, such as Shanks, Whitebeard, Dragon, and the Shichibukai. On the other hand, the fact that he's formerly a member of Jinbei's pirate gang may be enough to consider him a serious threat. Funny that the marines and government didn't care when he set up a base in the East Blue and tried to take over the entire hemisphere. <_<
-
this upcoming arc sounds long, will it create complications for the anime since it's catching up?
-
God DANG IT!!! NOW we gotto wait 2 weeks for our next fix…oh, how I wish I never opened Arlong Park Forums today...Dang this chapter was sooo damn cool. I can't believe it, I tried reading other new manga chapters and nothing comes close to the anticipation I have for the next chapter like OP did...not even Naruto...XD
shit,..2 weeks...its gonna be a Looooong 2 weeks for me...:(
YEah...Chopper is the cutest character in OP...
-
Thank you, sirs. The summery was pretty accurate, an okey chapter but Inpel Down sounds like too interesting place not to make a visit. About the new umiresha, I hope it's somekind of hybrid of a train and a ship. Perhaps just like said, Tom's prototype, so that I would get mine Steam Ship that I've dreamed of :P.
-
Yay! Thank you ocean. :D
-
Yay! Many thanks ocean and ooshi! :D
Yay! Tom may still be alive! does the happy fishman dance
And damn, I was working on a concept for a prison island for storing DF users. Mine involved lots of seastone - didn't think of putting it under the ocean.
bows before Oda
Gonna need time to digest this one! -
Thank Ocean and ooshi ..man ,have been waiting for 364 .. hope 365 come faster lol
-
That was a lot more entertaining than the spoilers let on :)
Maybe Franky has something to do with this second sea train?

I don't think that could even be debated. :P
It reminded me of "Franky v. Usopp," only there wasn't anything to see.

I was wondering that as well. He's all like "zomg ill stand in ur way," but there's a chance to get back at Lucci, so I dunno.

_No, the anime is filler chocked. But even so, it'd take about 20 episodes to catch up to the manga.
-
that was awesome!
I'm pretty sure Paulie is gonna go on that train with everyone. Now I wouldn't mind if he joined xD!
If what everyone is sepculating is true. I think we'll see Bon Clay again. Mayhaps even, Crocodile and Mr 1. It would be pretty cool is all the old villians were in the jail. But if they were in the torture chamber they might want to get back at the government instead of trying to beat Luffy down xD
-
This chapter is great, both story and Colorspread.
Thanks Ocean and ooshi! :D -
Well, the chapter wasn´t as cool as the last one, but that could be difficult ^^. I´ll read it with the translation…
-
Sanji looks awesome on the color spread. Killer Hippo King! Call Little Mac.
Pretty interesting chapter. Unlike the past few, we've uncovered a lot of new stuff.
Impel Down… sounds scary.
-
We found out some good stuff this week.
I was looking at the color spread again, and yes, Sanji looks awesome, Robin, as always, is hot…But for some strange, inexplicable reason, what I'm really digging, is Zoro in those pants.
-
Now when I look closer to the color spread, Zoro doesnt have any leg hair… WTF
-
The double page spread was great! :P Isn't it time we get a colorwalk 3 oda?
An interesting chapter, we finally know what's so scary about Enaes lobby and why it's a one way ticket for Robin.

-
I love this Impel Down place, especially with Spankind's apparent S&M fetish. It really looks like the Inquisition or something.
It would be so cool to see Crocodile again in some way. I always wondered how a guy like that could be contained. I definitely think there is potential for the cover arc and main story to overlap in some way. Though most likely after this arc we'll see a shot of BW trying to get into Eneas Lobby, Oda has opened up possibilities to have them interfere with the main arc's events. Pretty cool stuff!
And am I the only one picturing a DBGT kind of thing with all of the former villians breaking out of their "HFLL" cells and causing all sorts of havoc for Gok… I mean, Luffy? Haha. This won't happen. Oda's too smart and creative to go in this direction, though the thought of a Mr. 1/Hacchan vs Zoro match would be interesting to see in execution.
-
On another note, now we know why Spandam's appearance was transformed into that of a crazed sadomasochistic freak, and have a pretty good idea of exactly where in Aeneas Lobby he is. There's definitely no avoiding going to Impel Town. It seems more likely that Robin would be sent elsewhere, but I don't think Franky and Usopp will be so lucky. :P
-
I'm thinking KillerSteak is right, Kokoro probably knew all the time what Franky was building. He had a hand in building the original Puffing Tom, so Kokoro could be referring to a next generation of "sea train" built by Franky. I have been wondering how the Strawhats would be introduced to Franky's creation with the Family out of the picture, it seems like Kokoro would be a good candidate for accomplishing that. It still remains to be seen how much of the Pluton blueprints ended up in Franky's ship (UmiFranky?), but I'd be willing to wager that a lot did, I even think this "train" won't need tracks.
All speculation, of course!

All speculation, of course! But not a bad speculation at all though. I would like to know the exact translation of the last by Kokoro or did she actually say: "i'll produce a 'umiressha'" like in ooshi's script?

Yeh, I doubt Oda will go overboard with this. If Crocodile is being held somewhere at Impel Down, I think he'll tease it, it'll be more of a subtle wink to the fans, instead of "ZOMG ITS CROC AND HES HELLA PISSED!1!". But I like the idea of the Ms. Goldenweek Mini arc and the actual main arc mixing, it doesn't have to be too overbearing.. just something small and fitting.
-
Okay, interesting…So, basically, a criminal sent to enias Lobby can either go to Impel Down or Marine Hq, wehere...What will happen? Impel is pretty straightforward, torture or death and no escape, but...What about Marine Hq? It can't be the criminal gets to be a schichibukai, cause' then he'd seen the light of day. Perhaps they can find some "indoor-use" of criminals...strategists or informants maybe?
BTW, Impel Down looks kinda medieval. So did Spanda's office. Perhaps he's on the top floor, and was originally there to interrogate Tom?
BTW II, i really like the "gates of justice" idea. Reminds me of Tower of Londons "Traitors Gate", which probably is no coinsidence.
-
-I was wondering how does Nami know all this stuff about Impel Down, when its seemingly uncommon knowledge to the rest of the crew?
The chapter was decent and it served its major purpose well, to get the Straw Hats on their way to Enias Lobby, as well as several minor purposes:
-Establish Paulie as the frontrunner for the 'shipwright' position
-Sets up the third part of the arc very nicely (Oda always seems to deal with the recent arcs in three's ever since they've arrived on the GL)
-Gives everybody a new colorspreadHowever, as the dreaded two week long break now slowly dawns on us, I'm still not satisfied. I guess I'll just have to wait longer for a Sanji/Ussop/Franky chapter long talk.

-
Oh No, Water 7 was near the Red Line? That is where the Marine Headqurters is, so theofore they go to Aeneas Lobby, then to Impal Down then to Marejoise, that'll suck big time because the Straw-Hats will be in the second part of the Grand Line after that and I think the Straw-Hats should stay in the frist part of the Grand Line.
-
um guys….
they're leaving right now so they can catch up before the other umiressha gets to enies lobby... i doubt there's gonna be any prison break action... just some major train on train rescue action. sorry if this bursts anyones bubble...
ooshi78 (bubble burster)
-
I've got the picture of sanji from the newest color spread as my avatar. I really love the color spread its just colorful.
-
Hey ooshi, great work with everything man.
We probably will see train-on-train action (that sounds 'naughty" for some reason). But Spankind's at the Lobby. Franky's character arc involves him coming face to face with Spankind again. That's why something will happen that will send the train either to the Lobby or Spandam out to the train. And due to his weak character and the weather, I doubt Spandam's leaving his base. Franky has to go there in some way.
-
Thanks for the chapter :)
I really enjoyed this chapter. Paulie was very cool, and Kokoro was… uhm... well... yes ^^; I love the idea of Impel Down, and it looks really creepy.
It made me feel sad when Luffy almost said Usopp's name ("Where's Sanji and U-").
The colourspread is gorgeous.

it sounds naughtier when you say hot steamy train on train action (they are steam locomotives after all). some lupin III train action maybe?
i think nami knows about places and things more than any crew member in general (except maybe robin). she's probably read about impel down and stuff through newspapers and some of the books she's read. i don't think iceburg had anything to do with it (maybe i'm wrong). anyways, it's off to work!
ooshi78
-
maybe kokoro refers to the frog?? so the crew will ride the frog to the eneas lobby (well i know it sounds weird)
btw correct me if i'm wrong? isn't red line is the same with reverse mountain? go check the chapter after luffy & co leaving logue town (maybe chapter 101) to make sure
-

Maybe not right now. Spandam is indeed at Eneas Lobby so as far as we know for the time being the villain and purpose have a place.
HOWEVER
There's the issue of Tom. Chances are pretty damn good at this point that Oda may have kept him alive. This depends a great deal on what 'Pandam will say when he meets Franky but I'm holding out for some hope that Tom is being held in such a place. That said there may be some link to Impel Down (Thanks for the definition Robo) in the near future and I highly doubt Oda would introduce such a concept without addressing it in some form.
 VERY unlikely but wouldn't it be great if Usopp got sent there ^O^
Usopp looks around nervously AHHHHHHHHH
MAN what a neat chapter!!!! I LOVE when Oda makes new history for the world! And now it makes perfect sense what Nami said about Robin planning to die for them. But just like Luffy talking about his bro several years into the story, you sometimes wonder why these characters don't say anything earlier

**But what if, just what if they couldn't make it in time and had to follow the train to Impel Down. The Strawhats could have a reunion with Baroque Works and…...
BON CLAY!!!
Forget all this Franky vs. Pauly crap, Mr. 2 will be the next crew member! He can dance, he can sing; he'd be the musician that Luffy's wanted for like 300 chapters now!
OKAMA-WAY!
Anyway thanks chapter Oceanizer and ooshi, you guys just made my day.
-
BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Oda wins.
-
thankyou very much ocean and ooshi XD finally have chapter 364. the colour spread is lovely, unfortunatelly we will have to wait 2 weeks… :(
anyway... yay Pauley!!! XD he is soo cool.... but in the next scene they're ready to fight >_< fortunatelly Kokoro stops them... wonder how will this other Umi Resha will look like hmm....
-
It's been touched on already, but if Crocodile or the Baroque Works were down there, that would mean intervening with the mini-story of Miss Goldenweek. As neat as that could be, i don't think it'd happen.
It also seems to me that Pauley is going to turn out like Dalton and Pell: a good guy who can hold his own, but just not that interested in joining. I mostly think this because Franky's had a flashback, and doing another multi-chapter backstory for Pauley would just make things ungodly slow
-
Oceanizer and ooshi are the greatest a-p members of all time!!!!!!!
hey has anyone noticed that eneas lobby is the place where big john and captain brandnew were ?
-
thanks ooshi for the translation and to ocean for bringing out the chapter. very thankful.
plus, what if there was some top of train fights like in those western films (sorry but trains sometimes remind me of those western cowboy films).

Robin joined without having a multi-chapter backstory, in fact she still hasn't had one even though she joined over 100 chapters ago. Oda could skip it in the current arc and come back to it later.
-
necessarily flashbacks don't mean everything though they are essential in the straw hat crew (and others such as sky peian flashback and so on). we'll just have to wait and see.
-

No…...
Eneas Lobby is not Marine HQ...... Eneas Lobby is Eneas Lobby.

**Just like how they were going to stop the rebellion in Alabasta or the destruction of Sky Island?
I still say this new revelation is absolutely perfect set up for the third act of this arc.

Here compare:
Up new chapter
Down chapter 96
you see brandnew and john were at eneas lobby!

Holy crap Gunther. Learn to read Japanese or at least the English summary.
That building says 海軍 "KAIGUN". Kaigun is the term Oda uses for Marine. And if you read the word bubble, Nami is talking specifically about the 海軍本部 Kaigun Honbu or Marine Headquarters, not Eneas Lobby.
Case closed.
-
if pauly join, i think it's quite ackward for him to have his past later, since luffy has decided to have a carpenter since beginning
