@ONEinchPUNCH:
Remember when zoro fought Mihawk now I expected him to lose but I didn't expect him to be almost killed. I thought Mihawk would have ignored his challenge disappearing when zoro attempt to attack (similar to how he treated krieg). If it wasn't One piece I'd have believed zoro to be dead, so to me that was unpredictable for a manga like this.
I actually thought differently. I expected zoro to meet up and fight the man deemed the "strongest" swordsman. I must admit, I didn't expect it to happen right at the Baratie. However, from the moment Mihawk showed up, I knew they'd fight, and Zoro would lose. Reason for this is simple. Zoro has to be aware of the gap between him and the strongest. W/o fighting his adversary, there's no true way to judge. By being almost killed, he'll fully aware of his opponent's strength.
I'm glad you play RPG's, so you'll know mirror character sometimes receive more character developement than the final bosses. OP isn't much different from an RPG, the only main difference is you're not controlling the main character. All we can do is watch, while good RPG's have excellent storylines and you control the main character.
While this is true about RPGs, the difference right now is that generally in RPGs, the mirror character is working for the main bad guy and this isn't the case w/ BB. He's an independent. Makes me this the situation is a bit different. But, time will tell.
I don't think this is aimed at me but I'll give my opinion anyway
Now I find it hard to believe BB could just stand there and take an attack from the strongest characters in OP. If he were able to do this he would be truly unstoppable because if the strongest can't hurt him what can?
I think there is a limit to what he can absorb if the attack is truly powerful (like whitebeard and shanks splitting the sky) I don't think he can absorb it. He will be forced to use his DF in another way to win the fight, this is how the strong characters will defeat him (in his current form anyway)
Nope, that wasn't aimed at you. As I said, I'd hope BB takes damage from the attacks he absorbs, otherwise, he's just too overpowered. The thing that has me skeptical is the concept of his powers. They're based off of a black hole, and once you pass the event horizon, that's it, unless you're faster than light
From tthe developement he has received I believe him to be the second from last enemy. His strength has me still concerned that final attack he used on ace was powerful, so at the end BB was fighting properly.
When I see him fighting a strong character ( ace is mid-tier) and win, I'll rank him as the second from last enemy for now.
I really think you are not giving Ace the credit he desires. I think Oda did him a bit of an injustice in that we really didn't know what he's capable of. Apart from what we saw in his fight w/ BB, I can't give any other credible points but the hope that Ace's abilities are a reflection on WB allowing him to be a Lieutenant/Commander at such a young age. I've always imagined Ace as an older version of Luffy. Imagine Luffy w/ 3 years experience, would you consider him a mid-tier fighter after this long? With regard to the BB vs. Ace fight, I considered some of Ace's moves quite awesome and destructive, but I think BB's resilience skews perspective on how strong/weak Ace really is.
@WHITEBEARD - i just noticed you posted and couldn't help responding. I admire your adamant attitude towards WB, and you can proclaim to the canon that no one has stated they'll fight/kill WB till date, but face it. If WB does indeed get into a serious battle, him winning isn't an option from a story telling point of view. You'll have to realize this at some point.
And yes, you are correct. the blatant display of medical apparatas will probably have a play in WB's defeat. And if it turns out to be a way to honour WB in that he went down fighting death till the end, cliche and more power to Oda. I'd have prefered he lose at his fullest. This is more honourable IMO, but that's just me.
@WHITEBEARD - BB was definitely the underdog to Ace. Ace ended up being a jobber to show how powerful BB is. You can't compare reader's perspective to story perspective. The observers would expect the famous "Fire Fist" Ace (WB's 2nd corps commander) to be the victor against an unknown pirate.
