Didn't notice that…BTW,I noticed that Nero has whiskers...is he going to be some cat-type guy?
And look closely at T-bone.his cloak is now only a quarter of what it was.
He keeps using it as a bandage!

OK now someone please explain to me with logic arguments why the hell Nero has to be one guy we´ve already seen in One Piece? I mean just how often did Oda bring one character back with a new ID, huh? Last time I checked Buggy was still Buggy when he returned, and Jango was still Jango. And both of them didn´t grow in powers. Just why the hell should some random weakling be qualified to be a CP9 agent all of a sudden? Someone please explain this to me!
It's just a case of helpless fanboyism. Some of us grow attached to characters that appear for a single arc, and we become delirious with expectations that they'll reappear anytime now. I don't think anyone really expects it to happen, it's more just wishful thinking.
-
They do translate it themselves, at least ever since I started to translate. I used to follow all three (Stephen's, Null's, and mine) and they were different. That was pretty rude of you, omae.
Thanks, but I don't need a manners lesson from you ocean. :)
Konis- After I read the post I did a check on them. That's how I know.
Aaaaand the reason I ask is because I know many a scanlation that does as such. Their timing (I'm not speaking about this individual because I don't know them) is always mysteriously behind the other English translations and even more suspiciously so when English translations for one reason or another are absent for a period.
That's why I asked, no need to get defensive.

Nero being Kuro? That would be wild, but I really doubt it. Seems too far out of left field. I don't think he's good enough to be CP9, anyway.Well, I really just put that in there as a joke (along with a really, really bad pun), but I don't see why he couldn't be in there. They have all the strength they need on the physical side of things already so his relative weakness wouldn't hurt that much, his speed would be rather handy, and he obviously has the ability to go under cover if necessary.
Of course, just imagine what it would be like trying to fight somebody with Kuro's speed who used Rokushiki.
But it really is curious how Nero's identity is being so carefully hidden. I get the feeling that we're supposed to be shocked in some way when we see him/her/whatever.
I think he'll probably just turn out to be utterly ridiculous looking with the whiskers being his sideburns, like Mohji and his ears.

And man, I LOVE the way Sanji looks on page 12. I'm surprised i haven't seen anyone else mention it (if someone has, sorry).
actually, i said it somewhere. at the beginning of 4th or 5th page.. i think. but can't really blame you for not noticing.
because, obviously, i notice all the moments where sanji looks even more gorgeous than usually. my fangirl-heart bursts out of my chest on a times like that. -
If Nero is a cat type human, he may also be a cat type zoan user, that would suit him perfect to CP9, and to their kind of traning.
Isn't Wanze in a kitchen having some kitchen knifes? It looks to me like this will be a cook fight :)
-
I had another thought about Wanze. What if he was one an ex-pirate on Zeff's ship before the accident? You know, an unknown member who might have been able to slip under the marines radar? Then he would have the same kicking style as Sanji does, and it would make for some hilarious dialog.
Also, as much as I like them, I think that we should stop discussing NULL on this thread, only for the reason that this is the SogeKing chapter thread.

-Luffy and Zoro blasting a hole in Aqua Laguna
-Sanji's angle
-Usopp...uh.. SogeKingMore to come!
Anyways, about Franky being attached to FF, wouldn't it be the same with Paulie? I mean, him and Galley-La...
**When Tilestone was knocked down by Bruno, the galley-la workers ran away… They dont seem to have that "Loyal to the death" thing like FF have.. and Paulies closest friends (Kaku &Lucci) were traitors, an other reason why he can join the strawhatts, he need some friends.. Tilestone and Lulu doesnt seem to be his friends.. All he needs is an almost impossible dream and a closer relationship with the strawhatts. As I've said before, Franky already got his nakamas... And even if he doesnt join the crew, he won't be out of the story becasue he has the BP right? ;) I don't think the Gouv' will let that slip so easy...

**The problem is: I've had an argument with you in the past regarding Null on the old forum, so I know it's not completely alien to you… unless your memory is like mine and you've just forgotten. However, even suggesting something like Null using other scripts, even if only as a "not sure about it" thing is dangerous... you're a fairly well respected member on this forum, and something like that coming from you could turn into a little game of Telephone in which some folks might take it for a fact down the line.
That's why I'm defensive. That's a very touchy subject. I don't want people thinking anything like that of Null. I think we've come a long way, and our translators deserve better than that sort of insinuation.
We release up to a week after we find a good raw. Sometimes we release faster than that. The lag is not because of the translators, it's because I'm a slow and tedious editor. I usually have the script within a day or so of getting the first raw that comes out.
There's no real way for us to beat the folks who produce scripts, as they usually have their translations out within hours, and, well, I'm just not that fast of an editor >.>

That would seem kind of redundant, since Lucci is already is a cat type zoan user.
-
for nero i think that what we have seen can be his eyebrows instead of his wiskers  but i think that he will have a very crazy face like T bone :D , but
remember that in one piece even the most ugliest or dumbest character can be powerful and dangerous ;) , plus don't forget that we are talking about a cp9  . -
Maybe, but so far in CP9 the hottest and most intelligent guy is the strongest. :D

Their timing (I'm not speaking about this individual because I don't know them) is always mysteriously behind the other English translations and even more suspiciously so when English translations for one reason or another are absent for a period.
Yeah, right, proofreading and editing takes much more time than translating especially when Konis cleans it so beatifully. One~two week is reasonable time for scanlation. I tried editing several Jump chapters before. It took me one hour each page since I want it to be really good quality.
Even though you probably won't read it, let me tell you another example since I feel like rumbling. Death Note. I'm part of We, the Fans. even though I don't work for Death Note project. I think I do fairy quick job over there, too, probably 2~3 days before I finish translating a chapter. On the other hand, their translator finishes it within one day. She finishes it before I'm done. But they're being slow on releasing it because they take their time for proofreading, editing, and QCing. I think they have 3 weeks time lag now. I don't know how fast Null release their chapters, but by looking at other people's comment, 1~2 weeks? I think that's perfectly normal.
On top of that, translators can work on smaller sized scans but not the editors. Last week we got LQ, MQ (900px height? Forgot), and didn't get HQ (1200px height) until much later. So there is another time loss.
And I know my group doesn't release chapters until half year later from when I finish translating ~.~ Some are even more than a year. One month is the fastest, and that's using Tanko scan, much better than magazine scans.
Such a mystery.
Thanks, but I don't need a manners lesson from you ocean.
No, I'm not giving you a lesson. I'm just stating my opinion, like how you do usually. You're too great, I'm not worthy of giving you any lesson.
Enough of that crap, let me go back to the topic.
I had another thought about Wanze. What if he was one an ex-pirate on Zeff's ship before the accident?
It'd be interesting, but since Oda didn't show his face, if this is somebody from previous arcs, he should be one of the guys with name. Or that's what I think. Same thing to Nero.
… I'm missing some detail here. Is Nero part of CP9 or is he just an individual?
Also, since they passed two Aqua Laguna (one on bridge, one on Rocket Man), does that mean it's guranteed that they won't have the third one? I wonder if any Aqua Laguna hit Puffing Tom.
And it's so weird, Rocket Man is running SO fast that they couldn't stay outside when it first started running. Now in the beginning of this chapter, they can all stay outside and face Aqua Laguna. Or maybe it's just when speed is keep increasing, you'll feel it, but now the speed is stablized, you don't feel it any more. I'm bad at physics.
-
Nero is the newest member of CP9.
Physics? OP defies the laws of physics all the time. We know that. :)

Uh… I think I'm guilty.
Sorry ._.
-
The only downside to this chapter is what 4kids will do to Sogeking.
Rocket man may be able to catch up with the other train before it gets to Anies Lobby if it's going fast enough.

So is he the special ranked guy or something, since he didn't work with Lucci and them?
-
Uh…. not really. They wouldn't alter Soge King just to alter him, assuming that they even get to.....what? Episode 255?
I'm with Ivotas on the indentities. It'd be stupid if it's just some old character in different clothes. None of the people encountered so far really fit.

So is he the special ranked guy or something, since he didn't work with Lucci and them?Perhaps he was promoted just before the mission so he didn't yet had time to participate the operation at Water 7 or he had another task on his hands which prevented his input.

I would assume the RM take off is similar to that of an airplane take off. Initially, you feel the force push you into the back of your seat, but after the plane stops accelerating, you no longer have the force on your body and you are free to move around the plane as you are now moving with the same velocity as the plane, and it gives the illusion of being stationary.
I honestly don't expect 4Kids to get as far as making an episode with SogeKing. I'd be EXTREMELY surprised if they make to the end of the Skypiea arc.
As for Nero, i don't really care what he looks like, i want to know if he can do Rokushiki… i also have these thoughts about Spandam too... i wonder if he spent the last... what was it.. 8yrs, learning the Rokushiki... my guess is that he doesn't know it and is only stronger by rank and by being a CP member for all these years. What are others thoughts on this?
-
It would make sense for Nero to know Rokushiki, but any more people using it would be booooooriiiiiing.
I don't think Spandam would bother with it. I think that he's probably quite strong through his own style, with the sword and all.
-
Just because he swings around a rapier doesn't mean he's strong… plenty of sissies fence for sport.
-
Yeah, I still kinda doubt his strength. But don't be suprised if he starts stabbin' folks outta nowhere.

Seeing as how it's Spandam, if anybody gets stabbed, it'll probably be him. Even Gedatsu wasn't as clumsy as Spandam.

Hehe, very interesting chapter. Sorta late but just finish reading it. It's sort of marumie for everyone to notice that Sogeking is Ussop but I can make sure that Luffy and Franky wouldn't be able to tell by the appearence. I also was very confused that Franky was so familiar with Robin and her characteristic. Seems that he knew that she is a wicked women but she's not
-
I just noticed that there is one major similarity between Chopper and Franky. Denying blatenly showing of a particular emtion.
Strawhats to Chopper doing the Happy dance: You look happy…
Chopper(while dancing and grinning...): I'm not happy at all you morons! Then we have...
Sanji: What's with the crying?
Franky(while wiping his face with a hankercheif): I'm not crying at all you idiot!
quickly followed by a improv touching song.Yup, I see Franky not only joining the Strawhats, but having that conversation about not crying followed by an improved touching song multiple times. Remeber this is the second time he did this. I wonder if he'll do that if he hears the backstory of Chopper, Nami and Sanji.

Something tells me that Franky will not be only joinning the crew as a Shipwright but also a musician. Bad theory but it could be possible.

Actually, the song came first. :P

Franky's no "college boy," but he'd definitely know it's Usopp. I mean, who else looks and dresses just like Usopp and would be sitting on top of a moving train? Besides, Usopp made it all too obvious here:

What's so bad about it? I think it's highly plausible. Also, yeh… I absolutely love Franky's sort of emotional imbalance, and the whole 'crying, but not crying' shtick.
Quote of W7
Franky: "I'm all cried out. Not that I was crying."

True, but on the flipside, it's almost the same for Pauly with Galley-la & Ice. Not to mention any real family that he might have on Water 7?!
-
Franky's denying his tears is just him being manly.
-
Wow!! I think most of you have noticed this already but did Luffy used a new attack or something? It's a cannon!! Coolness!
-
He used that against the Franky Family, too.
-
This arc so just became my favorite storyline. =D Can't wait for the next chapter!
On a side note, isn't it funny that the three guys with secret identities all ended up together?
-
Carter: To break the big armored guy, yes.
But this is a Combo Attack with Zoro, and combos are rare. But I was astounded that Luffy knows the number of Zoro's attack.
-
I was at first too, but eh, we don't see them all the time. Plus, he probably could have heard it when he was inside the big snake.
-
It is possible for Luffy to see the 300 bondo hou when he was stuck in the chimney. Luffy could have got out of the building first then saw Zoro's attack. Then he might have thought of his cannon which could add a spin that would go in the same direction with Zoro's bondo hou attack which would be a perfect fit or else it would be pointless. But because of the water, it decreased the strength of Luffy's attack, if it wasn't for water, the hole would have been a lot bigger. :P

Zoro only did the 36 Pound Cannon there. Luffy wouldn't figure out about 108 that way, because he can't even multiply 108x2. :P
Also, I dont think it's water that decreases Luffy's strength. I mean, showers, drinks, and mouth rinse would harm him then. I think it's just being submerged.

Do you know what scares me? If Franky joins the strawhats (Even if he dosen't) At upcoming One Piece conferences, you are sure to see people dressed up like Franky…Wearing Spandex, with very hairy legs. Forget the towel, be sure to bring the eye soap. Can't wait to see the pictures.
(Note: This isn't an attack on Franky, or Franky fans, of whom I am one of. This is just a commentary on the idea of seeing real people in spandex with hairy legs.)
Oh yes, this is an awsome arc. I WANT SPOILERS BANNED! (or at least those who sometimes weakly succumb to the dark alure of spoilers like myself to have the option of ip banning themselves from that particular thread.) I want to download it, wait for Oceans translations to be complete, then read the translation page by page comparison like I managed to do this week. Or I just have to get a stronger will.
-
I'd like to see someone trying to cosplay as Spandams elephant.

Showers, drinks etc. are most likely freshwater which is not a problem for anybody but Sir Crocodile. I thought DF users should be affected by seawater, and it annoys me that Luffy is able use his abilities.
It does affect the abilities of Logia users and Zoan users. Both require the ability to move their body in order to use their powers; look at how Wiper's seastone shut down Ener's ability to dodge the Reject Dial. The ability to move must be related somehow to a Logia's ability to shift to their elemental state. So if they get dunked into the sea in one form, then they probably won't be able to change to the other.
Paramecia users, on the other hand, have had a permanent change rendered to their body; even if they're not currently using their powers, they're still there. Being dunked in the sea doesn't take away the fact that Luffy's body is made of rubber, it only robs him of his ability to control his body.
-
I too think that it is just sea water that affects the DF users because otherwise Smoker wouldn´t have been able to use his powers in Loguetown.
However what confuses me is why Luffy wasn´t able to swim at Skypiea. Does the cloud sea somehow have the same minerals in it as a blue sea? This is my only logic guess.
-
LOL. Very good. Yesterday I bought the 14th volume and today I found the last chapter. I thin that I have enough… Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!! :D

Some clouds contain particles of seastone that were ejected from volcanoes on the Grand Line, so they have the same effect as the sea itself.
