@dwo:
The axeman is of course Sentoumaru, the next opponent of the SH.
That's an interesting thought, and if it's true, it makes you wonder who he was after in the archipelago before Kizaru was even called in…

Well, Crane's a male, actually, though he looks very feminine. Apparently, women in Odaverse age gracefully, while men get the short end of the stick. I mean, look at Crocus, for example. In his youth, he's buff, in his old age, he's lost most of his muscle mass.
you dont mean Vice Admiral Tsuru by that,do you?
ROFL, Kizaru's name, "Borsalino" means bastard in one of the asian languages (Gujurati).
hmm?Its got a distinctly italian sound to me.
Well, its really pronounced "borsarino/bosraino" but 'Borsalino' also has the same pronunciation.
anyway to aged Robin/Nami-no.The clothes thy have would reveal things we DONT wanna se-EVAH.
Where are Kizaru's special troops ?
And I too hope that Zoro will meet Kuma again, and beat him before entering the new world. Luffy was already able to beat 2 shichis, and there will be more dangerous people in the new world…
And again I'd like him to beat Kuma in front of (already defeated) Law and Kidd so that they'll also wonder how such a guy is not even the captain :-)
Brook's new outfit remind you of anything?
Also, regarding Kizaru Heres a post from aohige.
A clip from an old Japanese film "Truck yarou", a movie series about truckers.
The trucker in yakuza-suit that just shoved this poor man off the road is played by Kizaru's model Kunie Tanaka in his younger years.
The trucker's name is… whaddya know, "Borsalino".His face, glasses, character name, and even the suits he's wearing is the same.
And wasn't Aokiji's apperance Based off some Japanese actor as well? makes me wonder if all the admirals are. =D
@Juggernaut:

Michael Jackson's Thriller?
Great chapter,Kizaru is a awesome character
Nice chapter. It raised a few questions.
And I'm gonna guess that it's the subbordinate guy Kizaru mentioned who's standing in Luffy's way.
gousti-in the batle ship from which h came on a canonball and which seemingly HASENT EVEN LANDED YET. :/

I think someone confirmed that Aokiji is based off one actor's appearance in "Tantei Monogatari", right down to the eyemask he wears.

Aokiji was inspired in Yusaku Matsuda, a japanese actor. In the first picture on thet page, he is even using a sleepmask LOL
oooooooooooooooooo what a day!! WHAT A DAY!!!!!
i've just gone back from watching Batman The Dark Knight (any of u seen it? cant even find a word suited to describe the awesomeness and coolness etc etc etc). and now 507 is out? a great day indeed. gonna read it now
Finally read the scanlated version of the chapter. Great chapter :)
I think all my ideas and theories have been posted. but there's one I want to bring back up / clarify.
When Rayleigh is saying [He had the power… to hear the voice of "all things"]
I assume he's referring to Roger, but pronouns can be confusing, and I don't know how they are used in japanese, so though this may seem obvious. Can I get someone who understands japanese to clarify that it is indeed Roger Rayleigh is speaking about.
Also, Rayleigh seems to know who Clover is very well. Could Clover have been on Roger's crew??
just finished reading it through. i must say, i also find it a bit confusing as to who were rayleigh referring to, it could have been roger or clover. anyway, i liked the part where chopper told zoro how to use the vivre card. hilarious
I'm really curious what Kizaru's real intentions are. Maybe the Tenryuubito incident was just a scapegoat to go to the archipelago and in fact he doesn't really care about Luffy's actions at all.
He might not even have the intention to search carefully for Luffy, but of course that'll be obsolete, if Luffy has the luck to bump into him. And three days are a very long time, so I'm quite sure he will…
I didn't read a comment abou usopp's question, now it's 100 % clear that usopp is pure fail. Not only that he's the timidest pirate in history, he asked rayleigh about the one piece. Its a proof that this character is absolutly retarded. This asshole has to die.

A bit harsh, don't you think? Sure, he was out of line by asking, but it's no reason to condemn him for it. And he's not as timid as he used to be, especially since Thriller Bark.
Holy fuck!! I just reread the chapter to clarify things and noticed that Brook is tall as hell!!! He's, like, twice the height of everyone!!(except Franky)
Edit:Kizaru used Soru.

It'll happen in chapter 762.
You heard it here first.

why 762
maybe 750
maybe 1000
but 762…
it would be awsome for Zoro to get some more praise from the other supernovas law n kid. N i think Law will save Zoros life. I think Zoro heart is about to give in n the only one who can help him is Law. This will be for Zoro defeating Kuma just before kuma defeated law and kid.
Law seems like the guy who helps those who help him.

While Usopp is not one of my favourite SHs… I can definitely recognize that Usopp's character is that of a real person. He asked the question that everyone wants to know. If I met Rayleigh, I would have asked him that exact same question too. This is who Usopp's character is. At least, my perception of who he is.
There's also two posters featured in this issue of Jump with a ton of characters from past and present series.

They both look really great.
strange, were all these characters drawn by different artists because Sakuragi (Slam Dunk) looks like he was drawn by the author of Eyeshield, narrow face, big eyes, definitely not Inoue-sensei's style.
So, it seems that Aokiji is the only Marine Admiral with a sense of restraint. Because so far, we've seen that Akainu had that whole I DESTROY EVERYTHING IN THE NAME OF JUSTICE motif going on when we saw him back in Ohara. And, Kizaru is just plain reckless and trigger-happy, but still keeps that calm smile.
I dont know. It really sounded like roger had a df ablity…... no one really talking abouted so i could be wrong
That Luffy in the poster, heck, half of the characters I can recognize definitely don't look like they were drawn by their respective authors. Damn it Jump, I demand authenticity!
Yes, Robin's panties made this chapter worthwhile 3.3
But I think that all the Admiral's are users of the six form fighting style and they each also have a Logia, that would make them stronger than CP9 and definetly formidable.
I'm still waiting waiting to see Kidd get pwned XP.
KIzaru is awesome , i wonder if he used rokushiki or his df ability

That my friend is what we call useless dialogue.
I will say one thing though, the questions that were asked in the bar were obviously NOT going to be answered. So why did Oda do that? I feel like the conversations in the bar was useless besides the fact that Silvers telling us how long the coating was going to take. but besides that, nothing in the conversation got accomplished, and Luffy's chessy cliche lines of how he wants to find out about the One Piece himself and how he would quit being a pirate if Silvers gave him the answer (obvious).
All in all, I found the chapter pretty much uneventful (Yellow Monkey pwning some fodder was expected) but once I heard Kuma wasn't in the chapter probability was high that no high profile fights was gonna happen.
It was obvious that Luffy wouldn't want to know what is One Piece, but his exact reaction, to quit his dream of being the pirate king, and disbanning his crew, it is something that wasn't predicted, now is the obvious conclusion but no one would have thougth it last week.
I'm starting to yearn for a fight, but it wouldn't made sense if only raeligh said "coating will last 3 days" in one panel, and then all the strawhats got opponents just like that.
That being said, we now know Luffy's greatest weakness, the only thing that can break his dream and separate his path from his friend's, is the same thing that we feed on, spoilers.
lol…okay chapter....I can't help but laugh at those assholes who thought Kizaru was spandine....shakes head.
Although, from that picture of his chin way back, I thought he'd look a little cooler....oh well.
I think it is funny that Oda has yet again made another whole story arc before Fishman Island. Now we probably have to wait another year before fishman Island because if I know One Piece correctly,
3 days of waiting = Some shit is gonna go down and fight match ups.
First Thriller Bark and now this place. Thanks Oda!
(Even though this arc is bad ass!)

Cat's Eye was a Shonen Jump series?! I had no idea. Neat.
Personally, I see nothing wrong with Usopp trying to ask about the One Piece. He basically had the exact same impulse as Robin did in asking about the Will of D.
Now I'm curious about the Lost 100 Years. Rayleigh's description sounds like something that needs to be seen/experienced to be truly understood. Just hearing about it can cause even someone of Robin's intelligence to jump to the entirely wrong conclusion.
What kind of situation could possibly get so skewed in the re-telling that it needs firsthand experience to be truly known?
Also, for Bege's "military force" comment. My guess is that it's simply that Bege's men are hidden and ready to jump the Marines surrounding their boss. After all, this is conspicuously the only time since his introduction he hasn't been seen with his men. While the same might be true of other Supernovas, Bege seemed to have more control/reliance on his crew, in my mind. So seeing him solo is more unusual than seeing Bonney or Hawkins alone, as their men are more background than character so far.
Chapters like this reminds me just how much I love One Piece even tho I know how much I love One Piece. So many great things…
I also learned that the admirals are based off actors. That Aokiji one is great! Shame the actor died. If he was still alive... wonder if Toei would have got him to voice Aokiji. XD (Wonder if they'll get the other guy to voice Kizaru.)
First, I am glad about Robin saying no to Rayleigh about saying what the blank history is. Also, the way Luffy said that he will quit being a pirate if Rayleigh said what One piece was really shows a new perspective to Luffy's character. Second, Bonney's devil fruit power looks interesting. Lastly, Kizaru's character design looks awesome. I like how he is calm and has a smile on his face most of the time.
Awesome.
Who was Aokiji based on?
I have to agree with Buuhan1 another really great chapter. We got a little more information out of Reilee, and we got to see Kizaru. Also, I really don't see why people are having trouble with Luffy saying he will stop being a pirate if he is told about One Piece. It fits his character perfectly. As did Usopp asking the question. I'm really looking forward to then next chapter, as always.
So uh, when the SH's split up and hide for 3 days, do you think it'll be in groups, or separately?
The Monster Trio.
The Middle Trio.
The Weak Weak Trio.
You mean individually?
That is assuming none of them get wounded facing whoever is confronting them.
Can someone post a link to a high-res & bigger image of the chapter's color spread?
Also, if I had to wager money on it I'd say Kizaru is a light logia (or paramecia). Awesome though to see some of the other rookies making their move, and Bonney's powers make me think she deserves to be more than one of the minorish rookies (ie NOT Law/Kidd/possibly Drake).
Edit: Also, also, I'll bet the guy facing the SHs is the Axeguy seeing as how he is a character they haven't met yet, and the SHs make no indication of knowing the person ("Who are you…?!!")
…When Rayleigh is saying [He had the power… to hear the voice of "all things"]
I assume he's referring to Roger, but pronouns can be confusing, and I don't know how they are used in japanese, so though this may seem obvious. Can I get someone who understands japanese to clarify that it is indeed Roger Rayleigh is speaking about. Also, Rayleigh seems to know who Clover is very well. Could Clover have been on Roger's crew??
using the words from Carlos Net's translation, "Rayleigh: We were mere pirates… we could never hope to match the intellect of a genius like Clover, or the scholars of Ohara… // He had the power… to hear... // ...the voice of "all things"......... // That's all there is to it..." (bold is my emphasis), it is not worded exactly as fact, but I would say he was referring to Clover (he) instead of the scholars of Ohara (they). So, when I was first reading it, that's how I took it as well, that Clover will be revealed as another of Roger's crew members in the future...
Or, just for an added twist, it may be revealed that Crocus somehow knew how to read the poneglyphs besides being the medical doctor on their ship (Clover and Crocus are both named after plants, so maybe they're from the same area and have similar intellect???)
Could the power to hear the voice of all things be Mantra? Aisa, at least, referred to her ability to sense others as "voices." Either that or Roger became the uber bad-ass he is while all the while having a Devil Fruit like Apis'.
