im not buying it…... because i hope funimation loses the rights to one piece so i can get my subs on veoh agian.
It'll be hard to find subs no matter what, Toei Animation isn't going to quit on getting "One Piece" to sell in North America.

….......................
Wow.
I'm definately buying it. Hell, I'm buying the entire series.
Sorry, no thanks. I think I'll just for the Enies Lobby arc instead (If they ever get there of course).
I preordered mine last week, and I plan on getting EVERY DVD released, be it episode, filler, movie, or even TV special. And I like FUNi's dub enough that I trust that they will make the fillers more enjoyable than the Japanese version. (Thanks to their knack for writing really funny scripts.)
So, yeah. A no-brainer for me.
im not buying it…... because i hope funimation loses the rights to one piece so i can get my subs on veoh agian.
Ok opinion or no that has got to be the stupidest, most ignorant reason not to buy the DVDs. I can live with "I don't care" but you are the emphasis on ignorant you remind me of a certain youtuber.

Have you considered the possibility that maybe, just maybe, they wouldn't be able to get to Enies Lobby because some people didn't buy the first sets? Thereby failing to provide the proof that it's popular enough to keep going until then?
Seriously, you 14.47% who voted "no", don't sell yourselves short; your purchase or lack thereof could be the deciding factor that determines the fate of US OP releases everywhere! So do your part, and get the first set to show that (insert favorite arc here) is worth making it to!
and cue fireworks
1. The subs are still on Veoh.. you just have to actually look around a little
2. Enis Lobby isn't the best One Piece arch
Maybe East Blue, Water 7, or Arabasta. But Enis Lobby?..
nah

Why should I even care? I only buy what I like and what I like alone since the EL arc is the only arc that I am intrested in (for my own reasons of course), and if it doesn't make it there then thats fine with me since I already have the subs of that arc anyways. I could care less about the others arcs. Besides, about most of everyone else around here is going to get the 1st season anyways so why should I even matter.
I… I'm not really sure how to respond to that. Sounds like you're all set, then. Well, whatever.

I would like the Enies Lobby anime arc if the anime were a better adaption of it… Dragging it out to be over 100 episodes long with filler, slow pacing and annoying recaps just killed a lot of the drama for me. >.> I do like the arc itself though. But my favorite from the anime is probably Arabasta and/or Skypeia. But it's up to ones opinion what the best arc is anyway, so you've little place telling people with a different opinion otherwise.
Anyway, I intend to get all of the DVDs. Whether it be movie, filler, whatever. I'll buy every anime DVD they sell, hopefully we'll even get an OVA or two. But FUNimation's not to well known to bring those over. =p They'd have a better chance with VIZ.
It'll be hard to find subs no matter what, Toei Animation isn't going to quit on getting "One Piece" to sell in North America.
What are you saying, firecrouch? Are you implying that if Funi were to loose the rights (though based on the preorder stuff right now it looks okay) that Toei would STILL try to push it on North America? But through what company?
I will say that we can't force anyone to buy something they don't want to buy (once again, however, just because you don't personally buy it doesn't mean it will never LEGALLY come your way), but dragonfrost's post kind of bugs me.
Also, how many sets are going to be PURE filler? I figured it out up through the first 18 or 19 boxed sets and we'd only be looking at set #11 as PURE filler. Everything else has canon storyline episodes included - the Apis arc set (set 5), for example, is going to include the last episode of Loguetown as well as all of Laboon and the start of Whiskey peak. I think G8 is going to get a large chunk of a boxed set, too.
I'm sure they would still try pulling the stuff off of the internet if when they get the chance, it's still Toei's show no matter where it is at right?

Exactly. If "One Piece" does badly enough in North America they might be desperate to cover their losses. It's their biggest current series after all. And besides, VIZ is still dependable and Toei Animation has proven they can produce good dubs.

Well from the list that I made a while for all the through episode 351. Set 16 (196-208) will would inculde The G8 arc and the first 2 episodes of the Davey Back Fights. Set 26 (326 - 338) will also mostly be filler episodes since it would have the Ice Hunters, the Chopperman episode, and the first two episodes of Thriller Bark. Anyway, we pretty much have to buy the filler episodes sets to get canon stuff. But here is the list that I made how each set up to Set 27 will be like.

Pretend I said this, but in a far more mean-spirited and offensive manner.
I'll be buying all of the sets in support of FUNi and their dub and just because I love the series and want to own it all on DVD.

I would factor in a two episode adjustment between 206 and 207 (between G8 and Davy Back). There were three weeks between those two episodes when they originally aired so I highly doubt they will be considered part of the same season.
I'd be willing to bet that G8 is released in a single set and will either just be two episodes smaller than the rest of the volumes or will include special episodes.
Did they ever awnser the question about the HD episodes (206+)?
By the time they get around to releasing the HD episodes we'll probably be in the next format war anyway so it'll be a non-issue.
Maybe along the lines, Funi would add more episodes to the sets… That depends on sales, methinks.

Yeah but they're releasing 13 episodes every 6-8 weeks. That's still a higher density than normal airings.
13 episodes per disc * 6 (going by the every 2 months idea) = 78.
13 episodes * 8 (roughly how many we'd get if it's every 6 weeks) = 104.
So we're looking at around 91 episodes per year (13 * 7), not taking into consideration the possibility of TV specials (wishful thinking on my part unless someone else has heard otherwise) and movies and video games. I don't know if we'd really need more or less episodes in a set, although someone pointed out that something like G8 might be nice on its own.
anything to help support funimation, plus it noce to have dvd that can seith from uncut english to uncut japanese
Preordered it .
well more as in I am getting it as a gift :)
ill get it eventually. just need the money to get it

How was We Are dude?
Eh, it was okay. The ending song was okay too. Can't complain really.
Already pre-ordered and waiting (im)patiently
Did they ever awnser the question about the HD episodes (206+)?
And I think they never did clearly, I hope they release those properly on bluray, even though I don't have one at the moment, but I'd like OP to be released in the best way possible.
As for the HD episodes… CN has an HD channel, and the episodes will be widescreen, so... Widescreen + HD = Widescreen HD One Piece episodes. That's already been resolved.
I do wonder if they should ever release those episodes on Blu-Ray though. By the time they get to releasing those, Blu-Ray might be the norm anyway. =)

Nah, I heard that Blue Ray Discs are going to be over phased in about a year. They are about to release these little "marble things" that you just drop into a hole on the side of your TV that plays the movie.

So my anime DVD collection will turn into my anime marble collection ? :pouty:Are the marbles going to be in HD ? :sideways:
I doubt that format may even phase anything…
I doubt that format may even phase anything…
Marbles are better because they doesn't get scratched..
DVDs = Stone Age
lol I wonder what kinda cases they'll come in…
I'm not going to
I can watch the original online and can read it
The new dub also isn't all that fantastic, even if it is "watchable" and far better than the original dub
And I also really don't care.
One Piece Season 1 is NUMBER 1! http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/main/bestSellers/
GOD, I almost exploded today. In the mail, I got some rightstuff anime catolog. I got one with my movie 8 that I ordered back in febuary, so I thought by some miracle season 1 had arived. But it didnt :(
wonder why it came.
Morgan- Brett Weaver
Higuma the Bear- Kyle Hebert
Kuro- Kent Williams
Kent Williams is going to be a great Kuro period.
Wow, Spandam AND Kuro, so Kent is voicing two despicable scumbags in One Piece.
Although I really wanted Rick Robertson to voice Kuro, but this isn't a bad choice either.
FUCK YEAH I'm buying the DVDs.
Just preordered it off the Target web site (Amazon, pretty much). Thank god for Target gift cards!
I haven't seen One Piece for quite a while, and you see, my friend got surround sound and a sweet set-up in his basement, so…
--EDIT--
Hey on rightstuff, it says Season 1 Part 1. Is there going to be a Season 1 part 2 or what?
Totally buying it when it comes out. Ah, it's so nice having a job, makin' money, getting paid every friday. Hecks yeah, buying me some One Piece DVDs~ =DDDD
Of course! It comes out near my parents pay day <3
I will definitely be purchasing the DVD box set when it comes out. I've been waiting five years for this to happen. And as for Kent Williams for Kuro, hell yeah.
The only thing that sucks is that 13 episodes is a weird place to cut off the episodes. It would be right in the middle of the Kuro arc. Which sucks, cuz the Kuro arc is my favorite of the East Blue Saga.
