I wonder if the same people arguing that Bulma should have blue hair are the same people that argue elsewhere for Japanese animation to be taken seriously.
Because then that would be way too funny.
1. Nightcrawler is a mutant that looks like a blue devil. His whole body was blue and demonic and cool. Not just some random white kid with some blue hair
2. That didnt look good
[Uuups.. the post order got screwed up. Anyway]
2. Yes, the blue hair did look good in Ultra Violet
And I don't see why you are acting as if it's so "strange" as this is a freaking fantasy story.
Blue hair isn't even the unrealistic part, as tons of people have it in the real world. It's just a main part of her character that differentiates her from the rest of the cast.
I only saw a little bit of it so you might be right

Right, I mean just look at that sentence.
Regardless of how well X-Men may or may not have done, it wasn`t anything you could take seriously as compared to say…..Batman Begins which actually makes it seem realistic for a man to cosplay as a bat and a doctor to pull a sack over his head.
Now I would never argue that a DB film could be take seriously, but I`m finding this interesting gap.
The DB film should be done right to honor the maturity and emotion found in the original!
cry the die-hard fans.
Okay...well if you want it to be taken so seriously, then why have a chick running around with a full head of blue hair?
Even in Fifth Element Jovokovich (sp) stood out with flaming ORANGE locks even more than a hip-hop-techno-opera-singing blue...thing.
You can`t have your cake and eat it too here.

I don't really see how a "hair color" can make anything seem more or less serious. It's all about how dramatic the scene is.
That TV show "Alias" had tons of serious moments.
Even when she went under disguise with different colored wigs and such. Yes even blue.
Some of you seem to want something bland and natural, like your eyes normally graze.
Why in the world would anyone want something like that? -_-

Are you sure that had nothing to do with her running around naked/half naked in the early part of the film or that one fight scene aboard the ship.
Well, I'd just like to the visual feel to have been kept.
Or they could have just done it in Advent Children style.
Or they could have just done it in Advent Children style.
Jumbled, brooding and suicide-inducing? ^o^
No, he meant with the CGI and….
Oh Greg! I nearly missed that.
I finally gave in and visited this thread. Now that I've seen those pics, I plan never to return to this thread.
Goodnight, all.
Yeah, that was quite funny.
I still say they should have made a film for IX!
More pics, this time including Yamcha & Chi-chi.
eh so that orb thing in his hand wasn't chi, it was just the Dragonball.
Yamcha doesn't look very Yamcha, but he does look the part of the anti hero that he was when they first met him in early Dragonball
<–-- Wants to see Fifth Element, now.
So, Goku is the only one that ISN'T Asian.
Sense makage meter.... explodes
Tsk, tsk, tsk, didn't you know Goku is alien, of course he ain't asian.
That being said, this movie doesn't seem too watchable even if I erase my fanatic dragonball expectations out of my system.
That's the only thing that's made sense in this whole thread.
@VL7:

I believe he was referring to Chatwin.
The point still stands. Goku wasn't Asian in the original, he was an alien. And Chatwin isn't the only non-Asian. Pretty sure the girl playing Bulma is Caucasian.
And it looks like that isn't Goku's gi, but rather the movie characters general outfit. I personally think the film looks very good, I'm enjoying the fact they aren't trying to make a real life version of the series. That'd look plain ridiculous.
Almost none of the original cast was asian.
'Cause all aliens are white.
Good point.
I mean, look at Michael Jackson.
cricket chirp
I want to see this because i'm a dragonball fan
The title looks different than the previous poster.
That has got to be fake.
looks like it, just thought id post it
Whose the guy/mask ?
I'm calling fake, and boy am I glad cause I really don't like how that looks.
Looks like an Orc, or Ganondorf…A Orced up Ganondorf.
I'm calling it real. I like it too.
I'm hearing it's a fake on SHH.
Looks like an Orc, or Ganondorf…A Orced up Ganondorf.
I thought the same thing, even tho I've never played a Zelda game or any game with Ganon in it. I just know what he looks like.
What might I ask is "SHH"?
Superherohype.com but believe it or not they're more headache-enducin' then forum-goers here are…but it's pretty much 24/7 there.
Do I hope this turns out to be a good movie, seeing how I'm a huge Dragon Ball fan, this better not hurt Dragon Ball rep.!
DragonBall's reputation is already suspect.
@Sandai:

Nah, DB is generally pretty popular and well-accepted in most communities, especially Anime-watching ones.
Z is a different story.
Okay let me rephrase myself the later and generally more popular half of DragonBall is suspect.
New info: Ernie Hudson is playing Mutaito.

Hmmmmmm….... Ernie Hudson is playing Roshis teacher interesting ....... I personally expected a Caucasian to play as him .
I'm not seeing anything recent that mentions this, so I've been meaning to ask - is it true about Krillin being replaced by a pudgy Mexican side-kick named Tito, and that Goku's going to school alongside Bulma but he isn't popular though he has killer martial arts skills?
Because if this is true.
:wassat:
(please tell me it isn't)
They should just make this movie a remake of DBZ Worlds Stongest

I believe the latter has been confirmed?

Yea make a remake of a movie that isn't canon but then again with the way they're fucking up the original continuity it wouldn't be a big deal.

No, it's not true. Or at least, that's an extremely pessimistic, skewed way of putting it.
Yes, Goku does go to school. However, the school thing especially is being blown way out of proportion in most places. "School" =/= "angsty teen drama flick." With everything else from the plot that's been revealed or described so far, we're left with probably like, 10 total minutes of it, tops. Goku is still described as being raised and taught martial arts by Grandpa Gohan. Odds are, he's being sent to highschool eventually just like Gohan was in the series. He's described as being "unpopular," which isn't too far fetched to describe someone who's a naive, uncultured bonehead who's not good at much of anything but Kenpo Club. Wouldn't be surprised if it's his first time even being in a city at all.
We don't know exactly how Bulma meets Goku, but odds are it will be in a similar fashion to originally; i.e. running him over. But Bulma is looking for the Dragon Balls, since one was stolen from her father's collection or something, and she wants to use them for scientific progress.
There is a new character named Weaver (Teto was a mistake or mistranslation) who is a nerd, and an associate of Goku's. But he's nothing like Kuririn in appearance or behavior, and there's absolutely no evidence that he's "replacing" him. I'd bet money they're saving Kuririn for the sequels.

I don't think that's why people have their faces twisted up about the school scenario.

Then you're not looking in the right places. In a lot of instances, people are complaining about this as much as anything else. They're convinced, "Oh, high school, great. It's like The O.C. meets DragonBall," and stuff like that.
I understand Goku being in school is kind of a flaw. But it's not a big one. At least, as long as they do it right.
