Why not a female with a Logia power? The last joiners of the crew haven't been THAT strong, so a Logia-female could very well tip the balance for the ladies and those three overpowered guys.

For the 423,352,243 time… Logias are not meant to aid the Strawhats in any way. They're created purely as an obstacle to overcome. Goku never got regeneration powers, Light never got the Shinigami Eyes, and Naruto doesn't have Sharingan. There are certain powers not meant for the main characters to have.
I called it wrong, so long ago. I guess this needs to be changed.

But if any did join it would cause too much confusion in if Luffy is indeed stronger than him/her. Also I can't imagine a super strong character joining. Characters always have some progressiion in stories. That is why we like reading em. Good stories yes, but we love to see them get stronger.
That is why Zoro, and Sanji will always be stronger than any newcomers. All the newcomers have been decently strong. Stronger than the weak members, Usopp and Nami. But no where near the top guys. This is so Oda can show us their progression instead of having some other god aweful strong character be in the crew. I mean you clearly saw how impressed and awed Brook and Franky were at seeing Zoro and Luffy fight. So they are obviously not as strong as them, and I believe any new members will be a bit weaker than Franky/Brook/(chopper, he is tough to tell his level)

There could be a very useless/harmless logia fruit user. (Light Element Fruit, Type: Holy perhaps, yeah basically the user has no real form but holy attacks will only work on the evil/injustice people)
I suppose every element has its weakness, as for Enel, he might be a tough one because the marines probably do not have as much information on him. But BlackBeard would simply own him.Brooke and Franky are a nice addition to the Middle Trio. I think it's time to add more nakamas into each category to balance it out. Perhaps one of the member of the Middle Trio would train harder to catch/move up to join Luffy/Zoro/Sanji.

I don't know if this was mentioned but whatever… do you think that the next nakama won't be so easy to find? just think - SH declared a war against WG. IMO not everybody would like to be WG enemy just becouse he/she is in SH crew... Maybe Brooke would NOT join if he knew in what situation he is...

the next nakama will be an insane old man with a long grey beard that keeps muttering to himself. Unnaware of the danger he doesnt mind joinging the strawhats because he thinks he won a luxury cruise.
The reason the strawhats will take him onboard is because Luffy finds him funny as well as Robin beliving him to be the key to reach raftel after reading another note from GDR on one of the phoneglyphs.

But any sword he made would be subpar to anything they already have. they would need a swordsmith to compete with the named blades in the world.

This is my firt time posting, so here it goes. Regarding the new member, I think that a thing that must be discussed is the color scheme Oda has for the crew. What color scheme will the new members have? We have red, green, orange, yellow, blue, pink, purple, cyan(light blue), and what is brook? I guess he could be white for being a skelleton or black for the afro/clothes. So the only colors left are black/white, depending on what color Brook takes, brown, gray, and maybe light green. I don't think brown will be used since chopper and ussopp seem to use so much of this color. With that said, I think that next crew member might be a light green themed female, maybe a mermaid of fishwoman.
As far as jobs, the last few chapter have shown that Oda can probably come up with creative jobs. I mean designer and mechanic are two jobs that could be used for a crew member.
PS: Not to revive and old conflict, but this color scheme is the reason why I thought Paulie wouldn't join back in W7

I just hope the next nakama won't be an old timer. After Chopper joined, all the new nakama keeps getting older(Robin, Franky and now Brooke). If that trend continues(hopefully not), the next one will be reeeeally old.

Brooke's 88 (Well, if you don't think he's aged since his first death, he's 40), so it'd be really hard to top that. Even Crocus was only 72. If Kureha had joined, NOTHING could top that.
Did anyone say anything about how long Gyojin live? I know Giants have roughly 3 times the life span of One Piece humans (said by Broggy, I believe), but I'm not sure if any comment has been made of the life-span of Gyojin. In any case, Octopako doesn't look old… maybe in her 30's.

age, so far hasn't affected their appearance very much, if Brook were a 20 year old skeleton he'd still look the same, and Robin and Franky don't look that old either.

I kinda assume Camie (note, I'm not a Camie fan) would perform the "get things quickly" task. Being that she could help them get fish as food and find sunken treasure.
If I had one choice, Kaku. But otherwise, I'm betting the next Nakama will be a little girl. Yeah, that's my bet. Nothing specific that I know now, just a strange little girl.
