When I first read this 2 hours ago, I was so giddy with anticipation, I could have rivaled a paint shaker for how much I was bouncing with glee XD
Also, To address something I saw here:
@LC:
-ONE PIECE dub song CDs. I want 'em. You want 'em. See if the FUNi people have considered them
I already E-mailed Vic Mignogna asking about this (Among other questions) and he told me he didn't know, so he forwarded my E-mail to Caitlin, and she already answered this question for me.
@Caitlin:
The other songs we've recorded for One Piece have not been recorded as full length versions, just TV-length. And also, due to legal reasons, FUNimation is not allowed to release any type of soundtrack with the English songs. Sorry to disappoint you!
Also, just to add that, I also asked if the Lyrics to the English "We Are" that Vic was going to be singing were going to be the same inaccurate ones that were in the Knock-Up-Stream episode, or if they were going to use more faithful to the Japanese Ones, here was her answer:
@Caitlin:
In regards to the snippet of We Are you heard in that one episode- that is not the version that will be on the DVDs of the first season. At the time, we were under deadline and the usual music adapting team wasn't able to adapt it yet. But rest assured, the version on the DVD is much more faithful to translation.
@LC:
-I know it's a little early, but ask them politely if they have any good ideas for "You-Know-Who"s VA. Yohohoho! (I know it's really, really far away, but if Unlimited Cruise comes stateside, they'll have to pull a Franky again)
! Just my opinion here, but considering he seems to be singing all the male-sung songs in the Show, Vic Mignogna would make a GREAT brook! His work on Bleach as Ikkaku shows he can do a lower toned voice than what he regularly sounds like (since Brook's Seiyuu has a somewhat deeper voice) and since he's the musician, it would work because we already know Vic can sing!!
Now, about Questions I'd like to be asked at the con:
Can someone ask if the DVD Cover art we have for OP on Most Websites is the final version or not?
It's a decent art choice, and a nice background and everything, but the placement of the characters is rather poor, IE Zoro was made HUGE in the background, so he looks like the main Villain or something.
Also, I'd like to know how far into production of Season 1 they are. Like What Episode they're working on now.
Oh, and I want to know about the "Season" Designation for the DVDs, like where Does Season 1 end, and Season 2 begin for Example? I only ask this because of 2 things:
Number 1: the 4kids Dub cut approx 39 Episodes worth of material out, so around Episode 104, the beginning of CN's "Season 3" was really something like episode 145.
And Number 2: Toei already has a rather Nice season List, that actually also fits the story Arcs.
So I want to know where they're drawing the "Season" Lines?
Personally, I'd like if they Followed Toei's Season Designations. It would be a lot less confusing (what with the 40 Extra episodes they would have to account for otherwise)
According to my Copy of One Piece: Rainbow, Toei's Seasons go as follows:
! 1st Season: East Blue Chapter - 1 ~ 62
2nd Season: Entering The Grand Line Chapter - 63 ~ 77
3rd Season: Enter Chopper at the Winter Island Chapter - 78 ~ 92
4th Season: Arrival At Arabasta Chapter & Arabasta Kingdom Chapter - 93~130
5th Season: Rainbow's Edge Chapter - 131 ~ 143
6th Season: Sky Island~Skypiea Chapter & Sky Island~The Golden Bell Chapter - 144 ~ 195
7th Season: Escape! The Naval Fortress & The Foxy Pirate Crew Chapter - 196 ~ 228
8th Season: Water Seven Chapter - 229 ~ 263
9th Season: Enies Lobby Chapter - 264 ~ Present
! NOTE1: For Some reason, Arabasta and Skypiea were split into 2 halves each for the DVD release, and thusly were given 2 titles, but It doesn't specify in Rainbow where the splits actually take place during each. Also, strange enough, Jaya isn't one of the splits, the splits are "Skypiea" and "The Golden Bell"
! NOTE2: The East Blue arc was actually the only Season to not have a title listed with it, but since it's obviously the East Blue arc, I called it that so it wouldn't look out of place, being the only one without a title. Also, the Rainbow Mist arc was given 3 designations, but listed in sections instead of all together at the title area, so I chose the one that best described it and used that one.
! NOTE3: Info for season 9 came from CD Japan, since Rainbow came out before the S9 DVDs started coming out. And obviously, the series is past Enies Lobby by now, but the Season designations and titles are all made for the DVD release, and the DVDs in Japan are currenly still in the middle of EL, so I have no Idea where the 9th season ends.
(it's a long list, so Spoiler'd for convenience)
@jigijigi: FUNi doesn't own the Australian Rights to OP, Madman Entertainment does. Madman just has an agreement with FUNi so they can use their dub, like they did for Dragon Ball. FUNi won't know the Australian DVD info at all, but I assume if Madman released the FUNi dub of DB over there on uncut Bilingual DVDs, they'll do the same with One Piece. In fact, they TRIED back in the 4kids days, they even had a tentative deal with 4kids so that 4kids would produce an uncut Dub for them to put on their DVDs, but for some reason the deal fell through.
@Mele: well… Jerk isn't a curse word... in fact, I've seen other, non-anime shows on Cartoon network use the word Jerk... And, they've already confirmed at conventions that words like Damn, Hell, Bitch, Ass and Bastard can and may appear, while Shit and the F-bomb probably won't. Plus, on the Movie 8 DVD, Chopper says "Damn you bastards", and Luffy says "Kick Crocodile's Ass" in the dub, so yes, it's 100% confirmed there will be some swearing.
