Dun Dun Duuuuuuun!
-
@DanialG:
The impressions were horribly unfunny imo. Though this is probably the only FUNimation episode I've hated so far, that cause of the impressions and Wyler's(lol) voice xD
Though, I'll have to get used to it eventually.
Huh? What do you not like about Wyler's(roffles) voice? It seemed pretty good to me.
And damnit, I totally did not leave my seat because I thought i'd see something PG-V like….
-
You know that scene where Luffy and Usopp get the crap kicked out of them by Sanji because of the impressions? I dunno, some scenes just don't have the same level of funny when Sanji isn't sucking ash.
Tonight's lulz-worthy line/s:
"♪ Take my ha- ♪"
"NO SINGING!"
-
..Why was it raited PG again? It didn't ev- HOLY CRAP A ONE PIECE MOVIE COMMERCIAL!! -en deserve a Y7 raiting.. more like a Y raiting..
-
Wiper sounded average for me today, Robin didn't sound like a bitch today even when she made that remark on Nami she just sounded cheery. The Sanji impression was pretty funny, the Zoro one… not so much.
-
Well, a show usually has a stationary rating, no matter how much the content risens or lowers from episode to episode.
Although One Piece (FUNi) usually goes from TV-Y7 to TV-PG so… No clue.
-
Curse you, work. Why do I keep getting home with five minutes left of One Piece.
grr.
-
Why do so many people hate Wyler's voice? I think it has a unique sound to it, sounds like he has lung cancer in ways….which he might as well.
-
Tonight's lulz-worthy line/s:
"♪ Take my ha- ♪"

That was funniest thing in the episode, and I thought Luffy's Sanji impression was funny.
-

I asked myself the same question…I really like his gruff voice. It's a voice one can only get after tons of smoking and ass kickin'.
-
Have they been erasing Wyper's burning stick thing in his mouth?
-
A good job tonight, I think. I didn't find Luffy's impressions to be terribly funny, but everything else was good. Great, even. Nami's mental breakdown mixed with her usual bickering with Zoro was fairly well done as always, the only line from Robin that I honestly feel could be construed as out-of-character was her first (though I do have a little theory as to why Funi might be taking what liberties with her character that they are), and the scene with Chopper drowning gave me chills.
And while this isn't necessarily the work of the dub, it's episodes like this that really make me appreciate One Piece's soundtrack. In those last few minutes of the episode, as Nami and Robin were putting the pieces of that mystery together, I couldn't help but once again feel a real sense of wonder and adventure–a feeling that I really don't think would exist if not for the majestic background music. Just...simply amazing.
Also, I like the voices of all of the Shandians. >..>;
EDIT:
Have they been erasing Wyper's burning stick thing in his mouth?
Yes, they have.

Totally agree with ya there. I definitely had that sense of wonder and adventure when that sound track played at the end. Made me feel light and definitely got my heart pumping a little. The soundtrack is so damn good, I even downloaded some of the tracks. I'm glad Funi kept that in because the epic music is the one of the reason why I love the anime. (Am a manga reader).
-
I see everybody's been complaining about Wyper's voice
I found a video that plays Wyper's never used 4kids voice (4:07 - 4:13)
WARNING: Might cause bleeding in right ear XD!
-
That is old. We've heard it already.
-
I'm all too familiar with that video. Epic phail.
Tonight's episode was fantastic! The music really got me into it.
-
Pretty good episode. I'm lovin Sabat's Zoro. It was really good when he and Robin were talking. I only watched up to about 10:20 though. Had to catch HaroMoni@ for the first time.
-
Cartoon palace torrent is up for those poor saps like me without cable.
-
Hey Chibi! When is the episode gonna be up?
-
@Sniperking434:
Hey Chibi! When is the episode gonna be up?
He isn't uploading it.
-
Wait, so he's not gonna?!
Why NOT!???? -
he said earlier that, you know what screw it, I'm quoting him:
I'd rather leave a note, since I'd rather not be rude and not have the episode up tonight.
I won't be capturing the episode tonight, for a number of personal reasons (One of them being I need sleep…). So I have to apologize. So no rip or anything from me for this week.
Again, I'm sorry....
-
I agree about the sense of wonder and adventure due to the music. Music has always been one of the high points of the anime, at least to me. It's just great, and I listen to it almost everyday and I can still say that!
-
A mod should edit http://bt.cartoonpalace.net:6969/ or http://bt.cartoonpalace.net:6969/torrent.html?info_hash=6357abbad5e388ed1edf29354ef765f7bcb2b2ad into the first post then.
-
Oh OK
I understand
As long as there is a reason for this, I'm fine -
I thought it was another excellent episode. You know if I am on the side of the hardcore Funi supporters that find nothing wrong with the dub then I should be rather proud of that.
-
I really enjoyed the episode. Like people said, it's also about the MUSIC, I forgot just how great it sounds in this episode. I couldn't even place it, where did the music come from (like did it come from a movie and which one) All I think of when I hear that music
is the final climatic resolution at the end of Enies Lobby. -
I always loved One Piece's Jazzy or dramatically fitting tunes. It's the kinda anime music you never forget.
-
This episode was enjoyable as usual, though I'm looking forward to the next action set-piece (which is one of my favorite things about One Piece).
Bring moar "Knights" plz. :B
-
I forgot how much I loved the ending to this episode. The music that went along with the revelation of Upper Yard being Jaya was so amazing. Makes me really appreciate the composers for the series. The music is just wonderful. And seeing it in English just makes it an even more enjoyable experience.

Lung cancer Wiper kicks the crap out of his angry Mexican Vegeta version from Pirate's Carnival. I think the deep, gruff voice is fitting. Though it did surprise me after I imagined more of an angsty teen voice that sounds a bit like Zuko from Avatar when re-reading Skypiea for the last week or so.
-
I don't think I got the opportunity to post last night since I'm sick and was extremely tired. XD
Well, I found it to be a slightly entertaining episode. It was, well, good. My opinions are quite foggy right now. XD I'll just say I liked Gedatsu and Aisa's voices.
-
For some reason I missed the episode, so was there blood in this episode? I heard that rumor some where.
-
Well, there were those red splotches on Chopper… But that's about it.
-

Hmm, if I remember correctly, I think they left SOME of Robin's blood in when she remembers the poneglyph in Alabasta. It's very toned down, but I THINK they left some of it.

Scratches on her right lower cheek, besides that all gone.
After seeing this episode;
Wow, Zoro's and Robin's conversation was so casual and believing. I loved all their lines, the best was Zoro's "Chopper? He's pretty tough for a fuzy kind of guy. He can handle himself when he needs too."
Chopper… this episode did it for me. Brina is doing a fucking A job! I mean Chopper "giving up" was a hell of a lot better than the Japanese version. I was actually getting depressed.
Usopp and Luffy are really growing on me. Sonny's way of work around Usopp's injuries when speaking is just brilliant. And Luffy's voice is starting to move from "Girl playing boy" to "sounding like a boy".

I don't think I'd ever want to hear Wiper sound like Zuko.

It was like they kidnapped John Williams or stole his score to Hook.

This episode was excellent. Every last one of them sounded fantastic. Extra props for Sonny and Briana for a great performance.
Aisa is really good too.
-
I gotta agree with you guys, so far this episode has had one of the best solid performances from the main cast. They all seemed to hit the marks.
I think I finally know what feels off with Wyper's voice. While it is a good voice, he needs a bit more intensity. Just a little mix of King Leonidas, and it'd be perfect IMO.
EDIT:: Heh, I must have an ear for picking up oddities.
I noticed with Gedatsu's introduction they didn't have him doing that "MMmmMM!!" thingy as much. Turns out it's because rather then displaying a moving image along with his name displayed, they opted for a still. It's probably just easier to use that way.
Nothing wrong with that, just peculiar that they only chose to do that with him and not the other Priests.

That's pretty true, usually.
Anyway, I watched part of the episode. Nothing seemed that bad. I still want to kick Aisa off a cliff, no matter what language she's speaking. Most annoying OP character.

How can you honestly say that after we JUST got past Satori?

How can you honestly say that after we JUST got past Satori?
I liked Japanese Satori and Funi one was okay. But Aisa is just…ugh. All the screaming for no reason, and
! trying to kill Gan Fall
Just the way she's presented overall made me hate her throughout the entire arc. It's like a One Piece standard that all children have to butt into things they know little about, yell for no reason and often, and most of all have to be extremely naive. (Not that children aren't but I rarely see a somewhat sensible child in this series except….)
That's also another reason why I <3 Chimeny. Innocent and naive without it being annoying.
