Rock lee
master of the power punch and the loopy fist
So Lee drank elixir and is apparently the master of the loopy fist…
potion punch was superior.
Kenan and Kel is always the best choice.
Also lol at the dub thread on NF.
Eat Da Energy People. Whoever gets that gets a quarter. not really
Yeah, the Loopy first line was pretty retarded. I honestly thought they'd just call it sake, but even Naruto can't get away with that I guess.
It was pretty obvious that they wouldn't. They wouldn't even let One Piece say grog, after all.

I think they said grog in one the new dubbed episodes…
I miss Gai, too bad the next time we see him he'll probably die. Alas, such is the fate of decent Naruto characters.
If he does die, he's the type of character that'll go out in a huge explosion.
Have to say, this looks pretty good. I thought it was the actual anime at for a sec. Probably wouldn't have know it was a game if not for the bumper on the side:
!
That's… that's pretty damned cool. Graphics have never really caught my eye in video games but this has got me interested. I expect this to be the minimum for all future anime games!

The game looks like a graphically superior version of Rise Of Ninja and
hopefully three things will come about with this game
1.The game will be good
2.The game will have good cover art
3.Have Dual Audio
Lee's "elixir" made me laugh a bit. Then again, you really can't go telling kids he's consumed a good amount of sake. Oh well. Shikamaru's and Lee's fight do make rewatching the dubbed counterparts worth it.
Tenchi Muyo had a number of mentions of sake and yet Naruto can't have them, even worse was the fact that they changed it into elixer didn't help much, nobody drinks something called elixer unless they're name is Dr. Jekyll.

Wasn't sake called tea in the Tenchi dub?
Elixir is apparently another word for alcohol anyway. That was mentioned on NF at any rate. And in this context, loopy = drunk.

Besides that, most can pretty much figure out Lee's drunk anyways. The speech and the the way he flails about pretty much give it away.
I don't see why people are all surprised at something we all knew was going to happen.

I think we can agree that standards now are completely different from when Tenchi Muyo was on toonami.
That goes for ALL cartoons, and probably television in general.
It's a sad thing.
Fire Fist" Ace and dlo62282
Using speculation as fact since Winter 2005
Yeah, when did I EVER use speculation as fact?
@Janken:

There was at least a few occasions where it was referred to as sake and others where it was referred to as tea.

Naruto can be more violent then One Piece despite the latter not being as violent as the other in it's unedited form.
loopy = drunk.
Dumb sounding substitute for drunk

I think you meant to use "former".
and I always thought Naruto had more "Violence" or whatever than One Piece.
That's what he said: the latter, One Piece, is not as violent as Naruto in their respected original versions.
Nah what I meant is Naruto isn't as violent as One Piece in Japan (though Naruto seems to have more scenes involving dripping blood than OP) whereas in the states it's the exact opposite though for the record I've seen more episodes of OP in japanese then I have of Naruto so I might be wrong.
What the hell, One Piece isn't violent. Most of it is just people flailing on each other in a cartoonish manner.
Buggy Arc
Baratie Arc
Arlong Arc
Alabasta Arc
Skypiea Arc
This doesn't appy as violent to you.
OP has more blood than Naruto I think. Not sure on actual violence.
Each arc has maybe one or two "violent moments," which is actually proven by your attempt to prove otherwise. A few of those you exaggerated on, anyway. BELLAMY HAS A FIST MARK ON HIS FACE, OHGOD
I hardly consider that grounds for calling One Piece "violent," especially when you take into account what is shown in children's manga in Japan.
I pretty much have to agree.
Thinking about it, I really can't recall a decapitation/gore scene in One Piece. (Maybe save Zeff starting to crush his leg.)
On the other hand, Naruto and even Bleach have that shit going on in pretty much every major fight.
I honestly don't think one is particularly more violent than the other
Debatable…Zaku had his arm blown clean off during his fight with Shino that I personally thought was far more violent than any of Luffy's punches.
We've also had Gaara in the forest bursting people like blood water balloons and Kankuro spearing Sakon and Ukon as well as Haku getting killed by Kakashi.
Lastly we have Zabuza popping that guys head off with a kunai...doesn't get much more violent than that.
@Cap'n:
I honestly don't think one is particularly more violent than the other
Seriously.
and I don't get why the two are always compared to each other like it's some war.
Especially when they are both dubbed by two different companies who probably aren't thinking "Well the other one got away with this, sooooooo…....." while in the process of translating it.

Funny because if it wasn't as violent as you think it was Funi would've left in the fist mark including the scene following the hit anytime a guy hits another guy as hard as that and blood comes flying out of his mouth that pretty much equals violent and what scenes did I exaggerate?, all of them were fairly violent and bloody and I only listed the ones I listed because some I don't remember or there's too many too list though Drum seems to be one of the few arcs in the series devoid of much violence & bloodshed.

Naruto to it's credit had one decapitation scene (manga only)
Bleach on the otherhand has probably has more bloodshed it
it then OP or Naruto combined.
I really think saying "this is more violent than this" is just splitting hairs. None of them have any qualms with showing copious amounts of blood or getting cut up or stuff so the difference is both negligible and irrelevant.

One Piece & Bleach are the guilty parties and on side note Mumbo
you gonna keep you're banner til they unveil the original final two
members of the Shichibukai.
Just shut up about OP VS Naruto in terms of violence. People kill. People die. They bleed. It's all child's play compared to VIOLENT manga so just let it freakin' be.
Hey, another ninja teacher died. I'm so shocked.
I think people are under the impression Naruto is more violent because it has actual maiming. Limbs and heads being severed. One Piece no matter how powerful the slashes are the character will just end up with a wound on his chest.
Yeah, the only people that have had permanent maiming in OP are Shanks and Zeff.
I do think OP is bloodier though since it's so exaggerated.
I don't even notice the blood and stuff in those nemore after reading / watching some other series
@Sandai:

Two decapitations, Gatoh and Hidan (twice).
But yeah, what Greg said.
Oooops guess that shows you how obscure a character Hidan was.

Hey, another ninja teacher died. I'm so shocked.
Really random question but are those from Shonen?
That's from Battle Royale. Pretty much sure it isn't shonen.
Hidan isn't obscure, he was Akatsuki for Christ's sake. There was an arc based around defeating him and Kakuzu.

Funny because if geg hadn't reminded me of him and his two beheadings
at the hands of Asuma & Shikamaru I wouldn't have even remembered him despite it not being too long since I read that arc with him and Kakazu.
That's from Battle Royale. Pretty much sure it isn't shonen.
Something told me that was Battle Royal (haven't it read it FYI) with that
being the case that doesn't really bring the argument of One Piece being more violent than Naruto to a close seeing as how the discussion involved those two series which both fall into the shonen genre whereas BR is a third party not involved in the discussion which unlike the previous two series we've been discussing falls into Seinen (I think) my two cents though.
So Hidan's minor because you can't remember him? WOW
Both of them are mild when compared to dozens of other series, and both have had their examples of reasonable gore. I don't understand why you persisted in this argument for two pages.
Yeah seriously, HUR DUR ONE PIECE IS MORE VIOLENT is one of the most worthless discussions ever in this thread
and this is the fucking NARUTO THREAD so that's saying a lot
I predict the following post from Sandai Mera:

Okay…...
Wasn't BR supposed to be a manga about a bunch of people fighting each other with average weapons? How the hell that guy grew so big? :S
Anyways, I think the "most" violent things in One Piece so far are the fight with Lucci and the one with Mr.1. The others were not as bloody, and mainly focused on goofy beating.

yes it does.
They're not violent.
Children read them. Babies watch it on TV.
You read a children's comic.
You watch a children's Sunday-morning cartoon.
They are both further edited in their animated form.
Even their comic forms are subjected to editing.
Any 'violent' scenes are either edited with bars in the same way OMFG 4KIDS did but even worse OR such 'violent' attacks are performed on fantasy-like creatures that can't don't die with such an attack and none of it matters anyway since NONE of it is even remotely 'violent' compared to what REAL mature (read: violent/sexual, not that people reading it are mature) comics contain.
They're both children's rags.
And they happen to be really fuckin' good for their respective reasons.
I agreed with your post up until the "and they're both good for their own reasons part."
Claiming Naruto as good cannot be forgiven o heathen Greg and may the holy fire of the heavens come down upon you
@Mr.:

No he just wasn't that much of an intresting character probably the first time I've openly disliked a character in this whole entire series and the whole I can't die even when my head is detached or his rantings about his dogma really wore on the nerves after awhile, the fact that Kishimoto could even bring a loon like that into series is really puzzling I mean you can say that the originality was there but the execution was way off IMO.
Both of them are mild when compared to dozens of other series, and both have had their examples of reasonable gore. I don't understand why you persisted in this argument
Like I said a comment ago I was comparing the level of violence of Naruto and One Piece and only those two series I'm fully aware that there are other series out there in the same genre or others that are far more violent & bloody than these two, so if anything I can't see why people couldn't seem to understand that I was comparing these and only these two series in terms of they're content.
and this is the fucking NARUTO THREAD so that's saying a lot
(Putting this whole thread in Perspective once again)
Yea the same Naruto thread which tends to spark a lot of debating, flaming, & bashing regarding the series,it's creator,it's characters, the flaws with the series in terms of story, artwork, character development etc,the people who like it, the people who use to like it but no longer like it, the occasional moments where the thread goes outside of discussing Naruto when we have nothing of major pertinence regarding the series to discuss.
Do you understand what "splitting hairs" means
I mean Christ just realize that no one gives that much of a shit about it and move on
I agreed with your post up until the "and they're both good for their own reasons part."

I know you're just teasing but seriously, Kishimoto makes THE best villains. Sasuke is another bag of potatos, but that fuckin' bone guy was genius. I don't think I'll see another villain I like that much….ever. Plus the voodoo dude, the paper chick, that puppet master, they all rule.
Too bad he sucks so much at creating a likable hero.
Too bad the paper chick was pretty much ruined the same chapter she started fighting in
just add water
and you have another worthless Naruto female
A lot of his more minor villains are really cool. The problem is that the new apparent main villain for the series is one of the worst characters in the manga, and that's coming from someone who actually enjoys reading the series.
Except for Sock Pain, he's awesome.
@Cap'n:
Do you understand what "splitting hairs" means

People seemed to give a shit seeing as some refused to see the orginal reason for why I started up the argument after having to go over this like 6 or 8 times I'm pretty much done defending my earier stance & opinions.
Moving along
Too bad the paper chick was pretty much ruined the same chapter she started fighting in
just add water
and you have another worthless Naruto female
Wow coldblooded even if that is true to an extent.
