That, and it's not to say that Jose would have to be limited to just one kind of magic.
Makarov's bio said that in addition to his giant magic, he was also a master of fire, ice, and thunder (if I recall)

Yeah, but Joses spells seem to be always surrounded by the ghostly aura, so maybe it's actually just a variation of his Main Magic..
Anyways, I didn't notice untill now that Makarov's friend is part of the Magical Council.
I found it odd because she hates humans and lives in the middle of a forest…

Yeah, that's true about Makarov, and yeah, you can probably have multiple kinds of magic to use, but Kana or Marijane or someone specified that he magic was "Shade", which let him make those soldiers, but that aura seemed to let him do the lasers too. I think all he's used has been "Shade" magic, but it's just unclear what the limits of that magic are and what can be done with it.
On a different note, does anyone else feel like we got to a point like this too soon? I just feel like there could have been at least 2-3 arcs before this one. I'm enjoying where the story's going, but I'm thinking "Whoa, shouldn't this wait until we're in the triple digits?" I just hope Mashima can keep bringing the good stuff after this arc.
I felt that way in the beginning of this arc, but I'm sure Mashima could churn some less epic, but still enjoyable, arcs after this one.
Besides, it would be nice to have a couple more arcs focusing on some of the side-characters' back stories, kind of like what he did for Grey. (For some reason, I'm anxious to see Loki's past, and , as long as it's fun, an arc focusing on that wouldn't be all that bad.)

I agree, making me wonder if perhaps Fairy Tail won't last very long.
Well we've barely seen anything about the Magic Council yet, which is like the equivalent to OP's World Government. I'd say this arc is like the Arlong Park of Fairy Tail. Everyone's getting a fight against a sorta powerful guild, and our heroine gets some back story in the process.
I'm hoping next arc we get Elfman's version of Grey's arc, and get more into Elfman's and his sister's (if she's gonna join the main cast) backstory. Then we'll have a Loki arc, and then the story will probably really get started.
At least that's what I'm hoping for. Cause FT is getting to be right up there with my faves.
There's still Igneel too, and finding him. Although, that seems to tie into Seig Lein's master plan, to me, so that will probably be all rolled into the major evil arc.
There ought to be an arc dealing with Natsu becoming S-Rank too, so maybe some Luxus/MistGun/Gildartz action going on, arc-wise? There's a lot open to speculation at this point.

I clean forgot about those two plot elements.
Though what I meant more was Fair Tail may not last as long as series like One Piece, Rave and Naruto. Not that I want it to be to short or anything.
Well, this isn't One Piece…
We have TEN holy great wizards instead of SEVEN Holy great wizards, but since Makarov is the headmaster, then that would still leave EIGHT Holy ten wizards for the main characters to meet in the future. :P
Anyways, I don't think the story is as rushed as some may think. I mean, Natsu and the other FT members already had some time doing their stuff before Lucy popped out from nowhere, so it's not like one of those Shounen where the Main character starts off as a rookie in a world filled with monsters....

can Natsu eat fire made by Makarovs magic? (think i remember makarov tossing some fire and natsu catching it like a dog) He opened his eyes already right? Is he comming back before the fight is over?
If that were the case, that could be interesting, Makarov showing up and rebuking Natsu's power. Although, if Makarov showed up, wouldn't he be fighting Jose and not go to Natsu?
And with all the "Ten Holy Great Mages" talk going on and people comparing the numbers of mages, remember that it's the top ten in the country. I'm sure the plot could grow to include the greatest mages from around the world.
ah, i think he will just drop by set sagiterous on fire (thus forceing Lucy to get a bad contract) and then continue on to Jose…
Nah not really =P
I thought you were serious, because that is an awesome idea. Or maybe just set one arrow on fire and have Natsu beautifully catch an arrow in the air in his mouth.
But Natsu's "power-up" comes next chapter, and all that probably can't fit in one. Maybe he finds a loop-hole to not being able to eat your own element.
He uses the fire . . . . OF HIS SOUL.
He does Diable Jambe and eats his own leg.
He lights a match on Gazelle's arm.
He uses sparks from Lucy's Taurus's axe.
The possibilities are endless.
He farts and power-ups his now weak flames with the gas! :P
@Kaimei-Karasuhebi:

That's just silly.
He'll drink a bottle of sake then shoot fire and booze out at the same time making a massive blast of fire.
Love it, But I have to say that it looks a lot like OP not in a bad way but a nice honouring oda style
Sagittarius …actually done something....never expected that >.>
hmm..i wonder when the scans will come out :p
HOHAHAHA Nice!
! A bit of a mix of the Arlong/Croc fight here. Hero on the verge of losing. But manages to come back and litertly wreak the joint in the process. Nice to see that Sagtaurs played a role after all though I kinda saw that arrow/metal sparked fire thing coming a mile away. Still the beatdown was nicely done, like how Natsu redirected Gazelle blast back at him. All that left now is how their gonna deal with the ringleader.
effing kickass. PERIOD.
! best finish by natsu yet, but still not as awesome as grey's ice bazooka
! and the spreads are beutiful (specially the erza one hoho)
Awesome ending to an awesome fight, and the chapter was full of awesome color spreads.
Next chapter, The Number One Guild. And I'm guessing Fairy Tale isn't the number 1 guild, so we might be getting some more faces showing up.
Then again, Jose's still around, so who knows.
Epic chapter is epic.
So great, and no crazy power up, just Natsu at his regular power level, but revved up. And Sagittarius does something. Was very much like the Crocodile smack-down, though, I admit to that.
The three color spreads were nice too. It seems to me like Oda-sensei and whoever does Fairy Tail use different things for "cm", because Nami and Robin, according to Oda-sensei, have much larger breasts in terms of cm than Lucy, yet it's obvious in the manga that Lucy is "bigger".
Oh, and little Luxus made me chuckle.
This is the greatest chapter in Fairy Tail ever!
The way Natsu beat Gazille reminds me of Lucci got beaten by Luffy.
Haha, Fairy Tail started off as a kindergarten.
…and yeah, funny how Erza seldom feels a need to protect her mid section. If her armors keep shrinking like that she'll end up wearing nothing but a thimble.
That was a great chapter I might actually buy the full magazine for that Erza poster and colourspread, Sagittarius expression cracks me up
Reusing pictures? You shame us.
Yeah, awesome chapter, Natsu's finish was really excellent, reminiscent of Luffy's storm.
WTF?
And..
CureSlime?…

cm? are you talking about centimeters?
what are their measurements?
cm? are you talking about centimeters?

!
! The author has also replied to a fan's question to saying that Nami's measurements are as follows:
! * Height 169cm (5' 6½ feet) Making her the shortest human in the crew.
! * Nami's dress size is (according to Sanji) (B95 W55 H85) 37-21-33.
Yeah, and Robin's B99 W59 H89 (39-23-35).
And despite her being 11 cms bigger than Lucy, when you read the two, it's kinda clear that Lucy's drawn to look bigger. Not a huge deal, just something I noticed, and the post-chapter lull has come in, so we need something.
Aria's in the lower right corner, or at least it looks like him, lol.
Think Oda would do such a tribute to the Fairy Tale manga-ka? Even if it's small lol.
…I'm not attacking you here, but what did that page have to do with Fairy Tail?
Aria's in the lower right corner, or at least it looks like him, lol.
…What I said.
16facepalms
Oh.
No, no it looks nothing like him.
Top hat, crosses, black collar, sure it's a generic design, but it still could be him.
But I'm not gonna argue.
Makarov needs to show up to beat Jose now please.
ID: what images have you compared?
useing that cover image of Lucy and the first random decent panel of Nami i could find i cant tell which ones are bigger.
(maybe im getting confused by the thinner frame of nami and robin…)

That was brilliant. Mashima perfectly crafted a satisfying end to the fight, all while cramming everything else I love about this series.
But really, the real hero of this story is Sagittarius. In a handful of pages pages, he has become simply amazing. Best summon yet.
Anybody read the extra chapter and the omake? It was in Binktopia's release. It gave me a nice chuckle.

Yeees, shōjo-Natsu was awesome^^
Please stop comparing cartoon breasts now thank you guys
Sagittarius is pretty cool, although I also liked the CLOCK SHIELD or whatever.
VERY glad Sagittarius helped save the day. I wasn't really expecting him to be useless but.. you can never tell what these crazy authors are going to do these days.
(And yeah, I got a bit of a Arlong Park vibe from this, too.)

Where could one go to get it? Does Binktopia have like a main site or anything?
