@Fire Fist:
Yeah, if Snake doesn't get his gun, there's a fat chance a mad bomber would get in.
Uh… Snake still gets explosives...
And his certainly look more realistic than OH SNAP BIG BLACK BALL WITH ROPE A'COMIN OUT EVERYONE RUN

Yeah, because super smash is all about realism…
Yeah, because super smash is all about realism…
Sorry, I can see here how I might have been misinterpreted. I apologize.
All that I intended to say was that suggesting that Bomberman couldn't be in when he has such cartoony bombs, when Sanke is already in with things like C4s and mines and Rocket Launchers, is a little bit ridiculous.
Bottom line: Square, Capcom and Namco are the 3 most legitimate contenders for a 3rd party character.
Square: Has contributed a lot to Nintendo in the past with Final Fantasy, Super Mario RPG, is a big supporter of the Wii Ware channel, and helped develop a few first party games. Not to mention, there are a number of Square musicians on the list.
Capcom: Same as Square. Basically every Megaman related game has appeared on a Nintendo platform in some form and they're huge supporters for the Wii right now with Monster Hunter 3. I'm willing to bet that they're getting something huge from Nintendo for that, besides money.
Namco: Link in Soul Calibur, Pac Man Vs, Pac Man in Mario Kart GP(arcade). Would not be surprising at all.
You forgot the fact that the whole RE series is Capcom, a big staple for Nintendo. But having Leon Kennedy or Claire Redfield in Smash would make babies cry.
How is Resident Evil a "big staple" for Nintendo? Only two games ended up being Nintendo exclusive, and they were only a prequel and remake.
Resident Evil 4's Wii port is the best that Resident Evil has ever done for Nintendo. Before that, it was all about the Playstation.
I think he meant that Capcom was a big staple for Nintendo.
Oh, okay. Won't deny that a bit.
Unsuprisingly Fire Fist Ace has dragged this thread into the "Stupid speculation based on loose notions" direction.

Monster Hunter 3 for the Wii? Good, more reasons to get a wii, besides re-playing Super Godzilla when it becomes available online!
Anyways, yeah, I think it's going to be a fight between Megaman and Bomberman to get to Brawl, but who knows, maybe both of them will appear in some trailer at once fighing each other and showing off their remodeled atacks. I mean, Bomberman and Megaman were better options to fit in the Smash Atmosphere than Snake.
How about we just have megaman use hyper bomb. Best of both worlds.
Ah yes, Hudson and Bomberman. They're in a good spot too, since they're getting all of their old games being released on the Virtual Console. So, seems logical enough.

pacman is the worst thing they can put in Bawl.
Well, I don't care who they put in at long as Geno is in.
Why do all of these people have a boner over a boring-ass character like Geno
Because Geno is an awesome character
Because Geno is an awesome character
Your opinion stopped mattering after you wanted G&W to be 3-D.
And Geno is not in fact an "awesome" character. Case closed.
@Cap'n:

Who is Geno?
My SSBB Character list will be
K.Rool
Lucario
add later.
I bet HEATXZ's real problem with Game & Watch is that he's black

Exactly what I was thinking. If he's soo great, how come I never heard of him until Brawl was revealed? Seriously, I don't see anything special about him. I just think that 70% of the people who are saying that they want him in are lame nerds who are just jumping the bandwagon so they can look like they know about some badass character that nobody even knows about.
(and he's not badass)
@Cap'n:

This gave me quite a laugh. Such as sad state of affairs if color affects what dimension a character should be in.
The Geno thing is most likely people creaming their pants wanting a character they think "wuz so coo." Geno is the personification of being overrated.
Yeah there's pretty much no appeal to Geno beyond shit like "A STOIC BADASS IN A MARIO GAMES?! HUGAUDBGLBGLGLBJG" "HE SHOOTS LASER BEAMS"
@Cap'n:

I would like to see him in because Super Mario RPG was an amazing game that didn't get enough recognition because it happened to come out around the same time as Super Mario 64. That game is what got me started with playing video games in general! As well, Geno was my favourite character in that game, and he acted as a catalyst to the plot, informing Mario about the importance of the stars so that he would have a reason to fight Smithy. He has a potential moveset that can be used. He's owned by Square as far as I know, but I would like to see him in the game in some form if possible, whether he's playable or (more likely) an AT.
Also, I was somewhat disappointed that Ness was apparently cut, since Earthbound/MOTHER 2 was the only game that I played in the MOTHER series, but I got over it, since Lucas seems to be an improvement.
I just hate Geno's design. I can't help it, but I just don't like it one bit. It's just blah.
Because Geno is an awesome character
Oh wait, this highly credible opinion with flawless reasoning has just changed my views
Remember how Geno just ran off with that kid's favorite doll
what a dickhead
With Gray Fox as an AT, I thought of someone that'd be nice to be included. Fang the Sniper from the Sonic games (a whooping three that I can think of). Something along the lines of how Blastoise or Staryu was.
Too bad he has as much of a chance of getting in as Cloud. That and my opinion doesn't count anymore since I'd like to see Geno in some way, shape, or form. D=
I agree that Fang was pretty damn awesome, but unfortunately it seems Sega wants to erase all memories of Fang's existence, along with Mighty the Armadillo. I hate how Sega seems to want to erase the good side characters from the Sonic series so they have room to create a ton of shitty ones.
Geno has manboobs.
Seriously, he does.

I'm personally baffled at how Vector made it playable in Olympics. 0.o

Didn't you hear, any halfway decent characters from the Sonic franchise are considered dead to Sega. Only guys like "EXTREME SHADOW" and "PSYCHIC SILVER" are what's wanted now.
Actually, Silver's not in it either. The only "new" characters are Shadow and Blaze.
Shadow still has hillariously emo lines in it. He's a sore loser, he is.
I just hate Geno's design. I can't help it, but I just don't like it one bit. It's just blah.
If you're referring to the ONLY official artowrk he has, that whole game had horrible, horrible artwork. Case in point:
MARIO: Oh god …. I can see forever.
Of course Geno is going to look/sound/be bland because he is the love child of Nintendo and Square. Everybody loves to hate on Square's product, and of course Nintendo is regarded as a kiddy system. But I loved palying SMRPG as a kid, and still get enjoyment from the memories. That being said, I can honestly say that I want Geno into brawl. The Geno=LAZERZLAZERZLAZERZ arguement sounds a lot like any other dribble about characters with low movepools in their original games (K. Rool - CROWNTHROWCROWNTHROWCROWNTHROW, Mega Man - BLASTBLASTBLAST) and even though he isn't my favorite character from the franchise (Booster was the man; model-train riding, crazy-eyed nutjob who EATS the fucking monster cake you were fighting), he's the only chance I see to have that game represented somehow.
And of course I'm a freaking nerd. I'm on a ONE PIECE fansite discussing furries and dolls and crown-wearing overweight crocodiles and giant purple space dragons and underage indigo robots and holy shit, I really have no life.
Hey, I like SMRPG too, and Bowser was my favorit in there too. But I just hate Geno's design, and I'm pretty sure that artwork of him by the world's greatest artist wouldn't change that. He had a cameo in Mario & Luigi and he looked like a pile of turd there too. The only level of Geno appearance I would personally accept is a regular trophy.

Hahaha, I actually want to play as Shadow just because of that.
Sega is pushing Blaze way too much. I mean, she isn't as bad as Shadow or Silver, but she's still pretty blah. I think the main reason she's so popular is because she was born from an actually good Sonic game, Sonic Rush.

I was just speaking in general but thanks for telling me.
Ya know…what the fuck would Geno's new SSBB design look like anyway?
I think shadow suld b in brool cuz he haz like gunz ANNND soof.
But seriously, why Geno when we could much easilly have Fawful?

That's one of the more impressive ways to end a rant that I've seen. golf clap
With all this talk about potential characters like K. Rool, Geno, and Balloon Fighter, I wouldn't mind to see Waluigi as either a playable character or an assist trophy. Even if he hasn't starred on a single platforming game.
Waluigi For Brawl.
Im hoping if Waluigi is not playable he will be a AT or Boss character.
Waluigi is really funny. Never understood why people complain about his "lack of personality" when the Mario series has never really had complex personalities, to begin with.
Being a playable character is iffy [unless they decide to lump him in with the [I]Wario series for some reason], but he'd definitely work as an Assist Trophy.
Any idea what he would do as an Assist Trophy? The only game I've played with him in it that I can think of is Mario Kart DS.
Simple, he'd go batshit crazy and throw bombs everywhere. Just like it should be.
I've always liked Waluigi's design, so it's a shame he hasn't appeared in more games. I was expecting him to show up in a Warioware game eventually, but that doesn't seem to be happening.
I kind of like Waluigi's design
the problem is his existence is kind of unnecessary and a little retarded
Waluigi is a good character, but is used like shit. He's only in the spin-off games and was originally made just to counter Luigi as Wario did for Mario. Hopefully he'll get some more spotlight soon or else Nintendo should just drop him.
That's the thing
did there really need to be another "EVIL BROTHER EVIL BROTHER EVIL BROTHER EVIL BROTHER"
not really
just someone else to slap their dick around and play tennis.
Gilgamesh for smash!
I'd take Mallow over Geno any day.
And i dunno how Waluigi would work as a character/AT, I mean the only potential moves he has is swinging a tennis racket and pretending to swim on the ground.
Didn't everybody just use Bowser and Peach in SMPRG when they unlocked them, anyway?
And i dunno how Waluigi would work as a character/AT, I mean the only potential moves he has is swinging a tennis racket and pretending to swim on the ground.
He'd be the Goldeen of the assist trophies.
