I like entertaining the concept that crappy shows Lost actors commit themselves to are purposefully ignored by their target demographic because everyone wants to see them back in Lost.
It's a secret sadistic desire shared by many.
So just when I thought I could wait it outwithout getting all hot and bothered, they do a podcast. Dang.
Oh…and Mikhail is dead?? That was confirmed at Comic Con stephen?
-
Yep, confirmed dead in the present.
Though, as with all deaths there's a chance for a guest spot within flashbacks.
-
Didn't he kill himself at the season finale with the grenade under water, so Charlie died because of the broken window? Yeah, that was Mikhail, so it would be weird, if he would survive and exploding grenade, which was in his hand right before it detonated.. lol ^^
But I did really like Mikhail. A great character,
-
Yeah, that was Mikhail, so it would be weird, if he would survive and exploding grenade, which was in his hand right before it detonated.. lol ^^
That scene is the reigning king of incredibly hokey LOST moments. But yeh, I liked Mikhail as a whole, though I wasn't one of those happy with the choice to bring back after the sonar fence encounter in 'Par Avion', especially since the explanation was so… crappy!
"The pylons were not set to a lethal level"
C'mon writers! chunks of his brain were shooting out his ears. :getlost:
-
so it would be weird, if he would survive and exploding grenade
Stranger than him surviving the fence, CONTINUAL beatings and a speargun to the chest?
I'd like to chaulk up his 'durability' to an influence from the island, but we'll see.
Anyway, I'm sure he'll be back, along with Klugh. Besides….we have to find out how he knows Locke :-D
-
I've got an idea.
Let's talk plot holes.
I can't stand plot holes and although part of me WANTS to believe they had every detail of LOST planned out before it went to cameras…....
yeah.....
So the biggest and ugliest one that stands out in my memory is the Season 2 opener. This is a real bastard of a plot hole because it cheapens an otherwise AWESOME scene and easily one of the most surprising moments in a TV drama.
So we see him inject himself with the meds right?
Okay. All well and good. There was supposedly an illness.....But then what about Kelvin? When Des saw Kelvin with a tear in his suit, then wandered out after him, he didn't take any precautions. And THEN, later, after he's recovered. He says the meds don't do anything.
Yeah....don't think they're going to be able to explain that one. That's a damn sin.
That and.....why did John banging on the lid save him? He knew about 'hostiles' as I recall so why did that act save him? Why would he be happy about a hostile banging on the hatch? Furthermore, if he didn't think it was a hostile, why didn't he walk out the side door around the corner and go say, "S'up Holmes?"
ouch. It hurts when I have to admit Lost isn't the air-tight package I wish it was.
-
I see my 'plot hole' idea for discussion has generated no interest. I'm hurt deeply.
I was wondering about something though. Something slowly crept into realization the other day. So stealthy was it in nature that I dare say it was ninja in origin.
When Des woke up… and input the numbers in the Season 2 opener.....
He did it from his bedroom.....
Why did this cause him to panic when the computer got shot? This wasn't some long-term mistake, it was something they dealt with in the first few episodes.
Is there any explanation for that?

Let's keep our fingers crossed!

I'd have to go straining my mind to remember all the details of the season to come up with any plot holes at this point in the year. Plus, I am terrible at finding them because in the vast majority of fiction (and I guess Lost would be one of the exceptions), if you can find a plot hole, you're probably thinking too hard about it in the first place.

Let's keep our fingers crossed!
Meanwhile, CBS has some decent replacement shows waiting in the wings, including another season of The Amazing Race and the return of Jericho
Early demise of Cane, Nestor freed up & Jericho back. That'd be Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

Me too. But I actually started rewatching from the beginning with a friend in Ono who never watched it. Although there are plenty of nitpick details fans have noted that are crazy, the season 2 premier and the first three or so episodes are really problematic mostly related to Desmond and his actions/reactions when put in perspective with what we know about him from the Season 2 finale. If you have a free night just have a good watch of the first 3 episodes and you'll see what I mean, it's actually pretty awkward.
On the opposite end of the spectrum….
Watch the confrontation during The Hunting Party again and listen to Sawyer/Tom's exchange. It left me grinning.
-
I'm still trying to get my dad into Lost. I should try to get him to watch all of the episodes so far by the time the fourth season premeires. We stayed up all night watching the first 6 episodes of the first season on vacation at our hotel room this summer. When we saw the end of Locke's flashback in Walkabout, I could tell he was just as surprised as I was the first time watching that episode.
-
The nice thing about TV here being behind the US schedule is that I get to rewatch "brand new season 3 episode" as they are being broadcasted. I still think that commercial breaks completely destroys the mood tho so DVD/leeching wins. Anyway, I don't remember anymore what particular episode I was rewatching and I might be slow because this took so long for me to notice but I came to realize that most of the characters seems to have some sort of father issues. I wonder if this is intention…
Anyway, a Lost Easter Egg in HF2's Episode 2:
! Don't ask me why people can't take smaller screenshots.

but I came to realize that most of the characters seems to have some sort of father issues. I wonder if this is intention…
It was one of the three, Damon, J.J. or Carlton that said, characters without father issues aren't interesting.
-
After 3 seasons of superb character writing, I can't bring myself to disagree with that.
Apparently Valve has also even hidden the logo of Dharma somewhere nearby that computer. Someone there must be a big fan of Lost.
-
First Official Production Shots of Season 4:
!
! Eh? Locke back in with the Losties, after knifin' Naomi and nearly gunning Jack down? Though, none of the above were at the radio tower when that happened, perhaps they don't know?
! Looks as if they're back at the front section of the plane. Which we haven't seen since the 'Pilot'

Oh man. If only February weren't so goddamn far away. You know what? Screw reruns. All though fans who were bitching about them can bite me. I'd much rather have Lost spread out over a period of months rather than this waiting BS.
You realize with 16 episodes it will be even less than the 'second batch' of episodes that ran straight last year. ugh.
-
If it allows for a tighter format and gives the writers more focus and it cuts down on all the unnecessaries that come with doing 23-24 episode season. Then I'm all for it.
Absolutely loathed the re-run-o-rama of season 2 and the break up of season 3. So I'm happy with Carlton & Damon's push for one cohesive season, without re-runs or breaks.
-

More focus I'm in favor of. I never felt LOST got…. (no mustn't say it)....OFF-TRACK during the long/regular seasons but if it helps to avoid calamities like the first three eps of Season 2 (plot hole galore) then yes I agree.
But....
That was supposed to be worked out with them having a definitive ending so I can't really see them being handicapped by a 'normal' season.
As far as the seasons being shorter, well actually that's just me griping because the actual number of episodes is exactly the same (or close to it) that they said Lost would clock in at. They originally said 5 seasons and at about 24 eps per season, that's 120 eps. Well, we now have 16 episodes for 3 seasons right? 16 x 3 = 48 and 48 / 2 = 24 so in the end, it's exactly the same as having 5 seasons which is all good with me.
However, I for one enjoyed the breaks. What I WOULD have liked, is for them to have been more vocal ie. THE NEXT LOST WILL AIR ON THIS DATE instead of a guessing game. I thought the breaks made for AMAZING discussion and wild ideas. I think the BEST time I had on AP bar none, was discussing Season 2 with you guys. That was an AWESOME thread. With these straight episodes it's like over before I realize it.
-
Evidently Cane's 3rd episode went down another 8% pluging it a total of 23% down from its premier. I heard there was an initial order for 13 eps and they ordered 4 more scripts. Evidently we didn't factor in that there's nothing good on CBS so shows that would normally get the axe elsewhere have a chance…sadly.
You know...Nestor was offered a role as a regular for Season 4. Why in the hell did he turn that down.

ever thought that MAY have just been a PURPOSEFULL Dis-Information?
Simply put that he was lying (stupidly, but hay,its been never said that the Others are geniuses, hasent it)
-
Lying, why would he lie? It was the truth, the fence obviously wasn't at full power, or he'd be dead fo realz. Though, it doesn't escape that fact that it was a weak explanation, caused by spotty writing.
Anyways, I was watching re-runs of American Gothic last night and there's a scene from episode 2 that almost mirrors the Jacob reveal from 'The Man Behind the Curtain'.
In short, Caleb is on the run from Buck in the middle of the night, he finds an abandoned old shack in the middle of the forest, which has a close resemblense to Jacob's shack, the decor inside is fairly similar too. Anywho, this guy grabs Caleb, camera shows a quick glimpse of him (like Jacob in the chair) and then cuts to almost the same 'eye' shot as in 'Behind the Curtain'.
I couldn't get over how uncannily similar those two scenes are, in terms of tone & direction.
-
the best on the scene where carl is brainwashed is the flash of : "God loves you as he loved Jacob.".And we got the importance of it much later.I posted it in the "lets count to 9000 " thread at OPHQ and "CliffJumper"who is a wery adept chistian started to think of it religiously-NO ONE GOT WHAT I WAS AIMING AT.It was funny.
Especialy when I wrote it like this: "God loves you as he loved Jacob." QUO-ting.not stating.
-
Battle, or WAS IT? DADADUUUUUM!
I dunno, I still think they'll find a way to explain such oddities IF they care enough to do so. Remember the scenes during Paulo and Nikki's episode? Sure we'll see a lot more of, "Guess what XX was doing then!", as time goes by.
Uh….in other news.....uh.....writers' strike....possibly delay in the season....uh...boo?
-

Hopefully it'll be a lot more natural, then all the stuff they shoehorned into Exposé.
Uh….in other news.....uh.....writers' strike....possibly delay in the season....uh...boo?
…and here I was just thinking how lucky LOST is for having 90% of its production done in Oahu, seeing all the other TV shows being disrupted by the SoCal fires.
But now this...
-

Okay, I spent a day on Lostpedia looking for an 'explanation' for that episode and came up with a good one.
Bitching fans again.
Nikki and Paulo were obviously very awkwardly thrown into the season. The response to them made their bitching about Ana Lucia seem almost civil. I agree they were strangely involved but I was interested in where it was going. Because of that strong reaction, they decided to deal with them right away but…...
The original idea was to spread out little scenes of them doing X and Y during the season and then have them die near the end. They basically took everything they wanted to do with them and did it in one episode, not different from a quick pull on a Band-Aid, to get it over with quickly.
The episode was SO awkward and dealt with SO much important stuff like Charlie's reveal to Sun etc. that I feel it would have been better with the original idea.
Fanboys strike again.
-
Probably my biggest sore spot with Exposé, it took a once pivotal episode like '?' and took a heaving dump on it. You think about events that lead Eko & John to find the 'Pearl' and Eko's unwavering faith in the power of the island after they found it, which was pretty powerful stuff, when you consider Eko's journey up to that point.
Then all of sudden, you have all that shattered by a mid season, filler-esque episode with crazy adventures of Paulo & Nikki. The power of the island, and Eko's journey to the Pearl seems so much less meaningful, when you think Paulo was just bumbling around and found the Pearl by chance, all in order for him to hide ze diamonds.
sawyer840 has some pretty crazy set shots on his blog. Potentially huge spoilers.
-
I can't disagree with you, but (and the is merely wandering into mere fanfiction rationalization) it does fit the theme of LOST. Any sign of a higher power (call it faith, call it spiritual) is countered with a scientific/realistic explanation. Locke and Eko's discovery may have been a journey initiated by the island, or it could have been crazy dumb luck…or....maybe something inbetween.
Whether they think like that or not, I dunno but it makes sense looking at the big picture.
I'm such a nerd.

This post is deleted!

Cane is sinking faster than Luffy in a pool. I hope this means it'll get cancelled and Nestor will come back to Lost as Richard.
And in other Lost news, Daniel Dae Kim (Jin) was arrested for a DUI.
http://darkufo.blogspot.com/2007/10/lost-actor-daniel-dae-kim-arrested-for.html
How many Lost actors is this gonna happen to by the time the series is over?
-
Sucks for Daniel. I doubt they'll cut him loose or anything, he's just too nice of a guy to be given the pink slip.
Locke and Eko's discovery may have been a journey initiated by the island, or it could have been crazy dumb luck…or....maybe something inbetween..
By and large Eko's journey was heavily influenced by the island, all of the manifestations created by the island (..or cerberus, rather) were just bread crumbs along a trail, Yemi simply acted as a prompter, someone to guide him on.
Which in the end, Eko misinterpated it as some great confirmation of faith, after finding the Pearl. But in reality, he was just a puppet of the island, who had been strung along, all in order to push the button.
..and we all know how that worked out. -_-
-
I hope you're right. There's a high chance Jin won't be written out of the show. In one of the Podcasts, Damon and Carl mentioned that Ana-Lucia's death was planned before Michelle Rodriguez was arrested.
-
The arrests have nothing to do with them getting written out.
Even though it wasn't highly publicized, Sawy…er Josh was also arrested at one point.
By and large Eko's journey was heavily influenced by the island, all of the manifestations created by the island (..or cerberus, rather) were just bread crumbs along a trail, Yemi simply acted as a prompter, someone to guide him on.
We dunno though. I mean sure Yemi is Cerberus when he appears when Eko is awake, but in the dreams? I'm not sure about that.
I'm still on the side that believes most of what's on the island isn't a spiritual force, or if it is, it has a strong link to history. Besides science VS faith, I think it's also a great deal of coincidence VS fate. Certainly these people were brought together randomly, but this random assembly of people is exactly the right group of people that will eventually save the world (should we assume the goal is to change the numbers).
LOST can be taken a number of ways but from how I see it at this point, that discovery didn't cheapen their experience. Because for all we know, maybe the island wanted N&P to find it just as badly… DADA-DUUUUUUUUM
-
I have heard that online you find a new video of Dharma, someone can you tell me where to get it?
-
Is Hawaii really so boring, that the main attraction for the actors is to get drunk and drive themselves home because they're too cheap to get a cab? (And while we're out it why home? Or at the very least, why their own home?)

That was the bonus clip they showed during the big Lost panel at Comic Con. I think I mentioned it but I know there were captures on youtube immediately (despite all the warnings they gave against recording equipment).

candles in so yes
-
stephen, dude, I had no idea it was canon material! That was very intriguing!
-
It kind of seems as though they either created some type of time traveling machine or teleporting machine. Unless they's just a really cheap 'special effect' Dharma cooked up to edit in a cloned bunny.
Does everything on this island with one of the 'numbers' have to be evil? Good thing they don't have any sports teams, they would lose half their players every season.
-
Well the people on the island don't but….
-
Soooooooooooooooooooooo any new trailers/teasers or shit?

Wow… Creepy stuff. He clearly says "Don't let them near each other".. Who knows. Is someone saying "Bad twin"? g
And... here are some set-pictures of season 4, which I have found on a german fan-page.

I knew it! The Losties are really in the Land of the Lost.
Cha-Ka is a failed Dharma experiment.

In that video with the rabbits there was a flash in the middle of the video that said "God loves you as he loved Jacob"
O_O
