honestly, this thing went all out. the beginning and ending songs? i fergot about those.
voices were top notch, tho sometimes sanji's sounded not so perfect. but ill love it over time.

Every assumption I had was correct.
Luffy and Zoro are barely tolerable. Everybody else was great. Kinda upset that Chopper's grown up voice isn't deep but other than that it was wonderful.
Hearing the opening in English was incredible. And I don't even like that particular opening that much.
So if you suddenly gain 3000 pounds your voice is supposed to change?
Yeah… vocal chords don't work that way.

Mato, you and FUNi should be mighty proud of yourselves. Not only did you help bring One Piece back to what it was originally, but I'm literally floored by all the glowing comments I'm seeing here. I know the 4kid's adaption was crappy, and I knew in a way that you guys would do a good job, but never in my wildest dreams did I expect nearly all of AP to come together in agreement over just how much they love the new dub. Heck, I never thought a good portion of the AP members could come together to agree on anything aside from their hatred of 4kids.. o_O
Edit: And damn, now I REALLY can't wait to see this episode.. D:

Favorite moments:
- THE OPENING ZOMG!!!!!!! =O I LOVE YOU FUNI!!!!! ^__________^ <333 like, forever!!
- USOPP. I actually don't want to kill him now!
- I laughed SO much. Even more than the japanese. Like, especially with her flirting with Masira. and the skull falling in front of Usopp… it was amazing.
- I forget which scene, but there was one Masira scene that made me go totally fangirl. I think it was the second scene after the ship stopped moving.
my eeeh... moments:
- Sanji's "loopy" voice. It sounded kind of normal...
- the ending was short. sads. I wanted more suteki funi songs. Even though that wasn't my favorite ending theme.
overall, this was the first episode. Just like with Naruto, I think the more feedback they get from fans the better it'll get. Not all the voices are flawless (Nami's and Usopp's I wouldn't change a bit. Remind me to stalk Usopp's voice actor later.), and there was minor stuff here and there, but nothing I'd even complain about. I mean, I watched all of the commercials even, and I NEVER do that. Not even for my favorite shows. I always leave. If I get back after the show's begun again, oh well. This time I wasn't even gonna chance it. I love you Funi. <3333

Dude, we all knew the openings and endings would be english forever and a day a go, and they all stated their perfectly logical reasons. And like Geg said, it's not a Japanese type of setting, to the average person it would suddenly be "WTF".
Anyway, I can say now that I am officially pleased with FUNi's dub. This was 100% watchable and 100% improvement from 4kids IMO.
Even though some of the voices share similarities to their 4kids counterparts, the biggest difference is in the delivery of their lines and the scriptwriting. They talk NATURALLY. They show a variety of different EMOTIONS that sound genuine. They aren't constantly spewing horrible dialog. And one thing I don't think anyone else would have mentioned, they know the art of silence. I was thinking about how in the underwater scene when they were all quiet, 4kids would probably have dubbed over a barrage of made-up dialog to fill in the space.
Of course, it was beyond AMAZING to hear the original score in the background. I know it's not something everyone cares a great deal about, but for me, it really makes a huge difference. I hate hate hated 4kids crappy synth stuff.
As for the individual voices themselves:
Robin - perfect
Nami - Can't imagine anything else now
Chopper - It'll take a little getting used to, but it's good, it's rough comparing to such a talent as Ikue Ootani.
Zoro - I like it, I think it fits him, although I can't help but wonder if it would have fit Sanji better (I think someone else mentioned something similar once)
Sanji - It's so good to hear something other than David Moo, that it's just an awesome relief. I think he could sound a little deeper and more aloof than Eric Vale is portraying, but damn, he sounds good, he does the lovey voice pretty good too.
Usopp - We all know 4kids Usopp was my worst nightmare. Even though Sonny's Usopp has a lot of similarities to to Jason Griffiths, he manages to sound appropriate. He gets that Usopp's voice has variety. Not the same squeaking clown in every freaking situation. He made me laugh quite a few times too, for being genuinely funny.Luffy - OK, Luffy's the only one that somewhat disappoints me. But I never expected much, because there's just something about the way Mayumi Tanaka does Luffy's voice that just can't be duplicated or matched. But at least he doesn't sound like he belongs on the short bus anymore. I'm looking forward to hearing more serious moments so I can really compare the actress's range.
So, there's my opinions! /me happy
I'll have to watch an uploaded version again to make more specific comments, I know there was some dialog that I could have pointed out for one reason or another. -

I nearly did a fanboy squee when I first heard the opening! Vic does a practically perfect rendition of "Hikari E"
Eric Vale's Sanji is awesome! Usopp is awesome! Robin sound just perfect, refined, intellectual, awesome! Luffy, it does sound similar to the 4kids version, I'll bite to that, but you can definitely see a difference in direction an acting. And I'm digging Masira, got a couple of lols from him.
Can't wait for next Saturday….

Opening theme was done fantastically well, but I couldn't help but picture Ed Elric singing it.
I was actually shocked by Eric Vale. I'm so used to his roles in Dragonball and Blue Gender that I thought he couldn't really deepen his voice, but he did it. I thought it was the perfect tough and mature voice for Sanji.
Instead of Usopp sounding like Krillin, to me he actually sounded like the original Japnese voice actor. He did Usopp's different tones perfectly. Loved his work.
I'm glad Chopper has his tiny voice in big mode.
I love Masira's voice. I thought it would be some big, doofy voice, but it was very fitting.
Loved hearing all the original music again, and I can't wait to see more. Next episode is going to be even better. We got Buggy, Ace, Whitebeard, Alvida, Mohji, and Cahbaji!!!
THANK YOU! I see I'm not the only one to think this. At times, Sonny's Ussop sounded EXACTLY like the Japanese version to me, so much so that it was a little creepy.
Hikari E in English just gave Vic fans another reason to love him, it was excellently done. For those of you who said that the ending was sped up, I didn't notice it at all, are you sure? Goes back to re-watch
