Every time I leave the thread and come back, there's more content in your post. Its like magic.
What can I say other than 'thank you'? An incredibly detailed post answering all of my questions. And as chance would have it, I'm in the middle of downloading episode 0 already. I'll check it out later tonight and hopefully have an entertaining evening watching it. Thanks, Rob.
Just a couple of things to add to Robby´s perfect post.
The Lupin TV series is divided into 4 parts (not sure i can call them seasons). 3 of them are the old ones (70´s) and the last is quite recent, even though i haven´t watched it.
The first one only has 23 episodes, so it´s quite short. We call it the green jacket series because, well, that´s the colour of the jacket he wears.
It´s pretty good, and i advise you to watch this one in order. It´s a little bit more serious than the seconds one, but that´s a good thing.
The seconds part, the red Jacket series has over 150 episodes.
It´s the longest and more popular i think.
It has a lot of humour and it´s less serious than the first one.
You can just choose a random episode and watch it without worries since it doesn´t really have any kind of plot. If you are expecting something extremely serious, then don´t, Lupin is all about the fun. Some of the things he did were simply impossible, but considering the tone of the series, it doesn´t really matter.
The third one is the pink Jacket series.
It´s… good. The style is less "comic" and a little bit more serious, even though in later episodes it changes back.
It´s a little inconsistent, but good. It tries to mix the seriousness of part 1 and the humour in 2. Sometimes it fails, sometimes it triumphs.
Watch episode 0, then you come pick any random Lupin material and watch it without worrying about continuity. It´s pretty much all standalones, except for some episode of part 1.
