One by one! I will upload this by manga volumes:
Luffy-
Luff has two separate, but closely related, sailing-related meanings.
The first, a noun, luff, is the name for a particular part of a sail.
The second, a verb (to luff, etc), refers to when a sailing vessel is steered far enough to windward, or the sheet controlling a sail is eased so far past optimal trim, that the sail is no longer completely filled by the wind (the luff of the sail is usually where this first becomes evident). This is not always done in error; for example, the sails will luff when the bow of the boat passes through the direction of the wind as the sailboat is tacked.
A sailboat can also be "luffed" slightly without completely de-powering the sails. When the boat is on the point of sail known as close hauled, this is referred to as pinching and is sometimes done deliberately in order to make a more direct course toward an upwind destination (See: Beating to windward…). A sailboat that has come to a complete stop relative to the water because its bow has been pointed directly into the wind for too long is said to be "in irons." Luffing is also a process of Power kites when they stall and the front (or leading) edge falls downwards
It can also mean the color red. Luff may also be chatspeak for love.
There is a crane jib extension called a luffing jib, which makes crane operation more difficult but allows for the erection of taller buildings and efficient hoisting in less spacious areas. Luffing a crane refers to the act of raising or lowering the boom angle.
Roronoa Zoro- His family name, Roronoa, comes from the real-life French pirate François l'Ollonais. / His birthday is November 11 (11/11), because the name "Zoro" is similar to the the Japanese word "zorome", meaning a palindrome (a sequence that is the same backwards and forwards).
Nami- Nami means "Wave" in Japanese.
Morgan- Henry Morgan, seventeenth century Welsh privateer or pirate, became English Governor of Jamaica
Shanks- not sure: maybe one of these: Shank, part of a ship's anchor, Shanks, a family of wading birds (with red legs) or maybe Shank (meat), a cut of meat
Helmeppo- Well, is hair sure is an helm.
Coby- I think this is a character that has been named not for a particular reason.
Alvida- Alvida was named after a female pirate named Alvida
Now i am over for the fisr upload… if you know more, tell me. Oh, i have no idea what Ganzack (One Piece OVA) means.
