You know what I hate in anime? That stupid and unnecessary Anime-Fall thing. It was so corny, and pointless. It was getting to the point to where you would see a nerdy kid from school do a Anime-Fall in class after seeing his beloved Sailor Moon do it on yesterday's episode….
Things we hate in anime
-
-
It may not be anime related, but I hate when in shows that aren't anime that try to emulate anime (Martin Mystery, Teen Titans, and those other types of shows) they completely overuse anime expressions to the point of annoyance.
-
All my reasons have been said already, IN BULK
-
and while I don't mind the comedy There are I admit several stupid moments such as the casual perverted character. I mean I didn't mind Roshi doing it but it seems forced in the Naruto series. Sure Sanji has his moments too but I actually find his antics rather amusing. Even if it was ridiculous that he wouldn't fight Calipha.
But Sanji isn't a perv, except in that chibi omake thing…
-
10. Character having strage laughs like "Popopopo" "Derishi shi Dersishi" Its ok in keroro gunsou but nothing else
But characters in One Piece have strange laughs, and it fits okay there
-

Isn't that Sanji's role though? The series pervert. It's just that he's not as bad as Roshi.

-Characters explaining their technique during battle instead of after. Your opponent is given a chance to dodge your attack if they know how it works.
-Characters who don't take the chance of attacking when the enemy is explaining something so long and redundant.
-Fans who always want the original, cannot accept other, even if it's good. In short people who bitch about other versions if it's good etc….CoughNarutofansCough
-No tag team battles, No two versus one or two versus two. It's rare when you see that occasion.
-Most animes have the villain go stronger than the previous one.
-People who refer transformations or upgrades to Dragon Ball Z.
-There are hardly any chicks who can bust out a lance or something and kick ass as much as the main characters can.
-Hardly any characters would teach an attack to anyone. It's nice that it is diverse and special, yes yes, but it'll be realistic if people can perform it too.
-There are absolutely no other language than the language itself spoken in the anime. They are in Japan, then they go to america or something, then all of a sudden you see a black guy and a white guy speaking Japanese along with everyone else(No offense to anyone) They could put subtitles for another language.
-Animes hardly show the character learning some new attack, not even a 30 second clue or them even saying "I think I got it" after a scene or something.
-Animes like Pokemon...Where the hell do they go to school? do they even have a school?
-

Those are way too overkill. Come on.. I don't even feel the need to explain why it happens and there's NO WAY to avoid it. Figure it yourself.
-
toward language:Of course it for people to understand what is happening in the anime but still. Atleast have one person do that.
School: Yes that's obvious too, but I'm just saying how I hate that.
I'm not asking for your explanation. I'm simply just stating how I hate that. For example, the guy who hates the no shoes in house rule. Simple right? Yet no one made a comment like that toward him other than simply saying it's a Japanese Custom.
-

Is that common? Maybe I just don't watch those anime. The few anime I do watch with people from other countries (Samurai Champloo, Detective Conan) have the foreigners speaking in their language with subtitles. Sometimes this ruined the mood, though. In DC, Conan liked to explain things in engrish to the English-speakers and it rarely made any sense and would completely ruin the drama of the scene.
-
The fanbase.
A Zwing and a mizz.
Yeah, that was kind of a cop out answer so here's a little list.
Adaptation Decay, Lame characterization, Piss poor plots, Carbon Copy designs, You know stuff I'd hate in any other genre or category of fiction.
-
-Animes like Pokemon…Where the hell do they go to school? do they even have a school?
POKEMON SCHOOL duh
-
In Digimon there were actually different languages, and I think Folgore is an italian who actually knows japanese, so there are some cases of different languages, but it's mainly in the "Companion fighters" that always stick weird creatures/objects to a practicallly "normal earth", and the sport ones like Eyeshield21 also do that…
-
In general, I tend to hate female characters in anime. They always start beating on the males for petty reasons, yell in annoying high pitched overly feminine voices, serve little purpose other than to act as cheerleaders, and somehow always manage to get caught naked in the middle of a bath or shower. A lot of this applies to One Piece too but is somehow made bearable because well, everyone male or female is constantly overreacting anyway, and the females are relatively more useful and intelligent.
Oh yeah, I also hate the cliche "OMG!! HOT GIRL IS KEY TO THE UNIVERSES!!!!" crappy plotline.
-
I hate sport series that try to come off as ZOMG SUPAH EXTREEEEEEEEME!
Like Prince of Tennis… or Initial D...
-
I hate it when an anime’s fan base grows out of control and then tries to make the anime look like it’s the best thing since sliced bread. Throwing Logic and Reason aside to feed into their delusions.
See : Naruto/Inuyasha Fanbase
-
When the main character kicks the living hell out of a villian after everybody spent the last five episodes saying how strong he was.
Check out this link, you'll change your mind pretty quick.
(yep, it's me.)
-
When anime fans start to think of rediculous couples and make Fanclubs out of those couples, NarutoXIno, SakuraXKakashi etc.
-
Like Prince of Tennis
I once came across the movie trailer
saddest thing I ever saw.
Did anyone mention the low budgets in anime?
-
@DougyDougyGiro!*:

What? Not much to hate in anime except an anime itself, in which case I just don't watch it.
-
Ninjuichi, if you care to remove the picture I'd try to stop myself from harming you for being an idiotic bastard who doesn't care about people's nightmares.
–-
Anyway, I just remembered another thing I hate. Some people might not agree with me, but whatever."Masaka....!!"
-
What does that have to do with this topic exactly? :wassat:
-
I think it was a cheap attempt at a humorous reply to the phrase "The saddest thing I ever saw".
It just wasn't well thought out at all.
-
Another thing I hate about anime:
Why do so many characters have to always be SUPER hungry? Like….Luffy....can eat nonstop. Characters like that. Always dramatic when they eat.
God, I HATE that.
-
Yeah, that came because of DBZ, and it's everywhere since then.
I feel the same way about it.
-
Don't see how it's dramatic at all though.
-
That part was sarcasm.. wasn't it?
-
Check out this link, you'll change your mind pretty quick.
(yep, it's me.)
I see your point. It was DBZ that I was making the referance from.

Of Course of Course! XD
Yeah it was like in the first ten or so episodes it explained that instead of going out into the world and training like Ash does. Trainers can go to Pokemon Tech which is pretty much the easy way.
-

Dramatic? No. Characters eat like that started from that old tale "Journey West" I think… About the monkey, it's basically how Toriyama got the idea for DragonBall but he managed to add things to make it intresting enough so that the fact that the character was a total knock off could be over looked.
-

Saiyuki does it better.
-
If by "do it better" you mean take a giant OMG BISHIE shit all over the Journey to the West legend, then yeah.
-
Damn, Carter beat me to it. I watched a few epis and it was extremely generic and pretty boring.
-
Oh yes I watched some of Saiyuki on Animax while in Vietnam. Pretty boring stuff
-

Meh personal tastes I guess. I don't find it boring at all.
-
Don't the characters use guns? Blech.
-
Only one character uses a gun that I'm aware of. All the other uses melee weapons or (in the case of Hakkai) ki techniques.
-
@Cap'n:
Don't the characters use guns? Blech.
I take it you don't like Trigun then?
I dunno if this has been mention but I don't like when characters always refer to something that the person doesn't know about, if it's a technique or a person "him" or "that".
like, " I can't believe he's going to use THAT."
-
No, guns are fine as long as they're FAR fucking away from THE JOURNEY TO THE WEST.
I mean JESUS CHRIST.
-
I don't see how one character using a gun makes a series bad. Sure the plot is generic but everything else is awesome and badass in comparison.
-
C'mon Carter, Monkey Kings with gats and pistols doesn't sound like a good premise? j/k
-
Are you talking about that show with those 4 guys like in the wild west or something? One uses a pole or something? I don't like the art style in this show and I got wind of it having some homosexuality moments between the guys. But don't quote me on this.
-
I'm mostly speaking as someone who is a big fan of the Journey to the West legend btw.
-

Yeah we're talking about that
and from what I've seen of the series which is a good majority of it there isn't really any homosexual moments in it. You know I actually thought that way about the series too before actually seeing it.
-
After someone makes a big speech, another character will stare at them in awe and say their name.
That gets incredibly annoying since that happens in like every single anime.
-
I think I've grown pretty negative about anything anime that isn't a major motion picture release or isn't called Akira or Ghost in the Shell (original).
You can call 'em cliche' but they're what made those stories cliche' to begin with.
-
@Pass:

… Pass the Rootbeer.
