Damn,no well have to wait who knows how long to see Moria fight.
Chapter 463: "Pirate Sanji Vs. Mysterious Absalom"
-
-
Moria is the Boogey-man. Watch, he'll suddenly spin around like crazy while spouting centipede from his stitched-up body. And then Luffy Skelling will own him…
-
I think people were really mistaken when they assumed Invisiblity was Absalom's main power. Waving his hands that way, turning invisible, the turban and cape and the fact that he's a tiger(siegfried and roy?) make it pretty clear to me Absalom's powers are magician-like. Which means he probably has a few tricks he hasn't pulled out yet.
Also Sanji is just a beast. He goes into prety much eveyr fight just pwning the hell out of his opponent.XD
And Luffy not wasting too much time fighting the shadow clone and going straight for Moria made me laugh. Luffy always has the right idea whether he realizes it or not.About the teeth..isn't Moria a vampire-like creature anyway?
-
tiger or lion?
and what connection exactly would Moria have to vampires? Hildon has an obvious resemblance but i dont get moria.
-
Well, all the crazy devil fruits people have thought of will be revealed next chapter (I think/hope)… geez, theres 3 big shonen manga I'm looking forward to
One Piece
Naruto - Sasuke, dead???
Bleach - Grimmjow, dead??? -
Turning his shadow intoa thousand bats makes me think of him being vampire-ish. And his character design, doesnt he have pointed ears and all that?
-
bat thingy (thousand? where did you get that number?) is just makeing him look like a wannabe vampire imo =P he could just as easily have turned it inot black doves or something since it was essentially still jsut his shadow shaped like bats unlike vampires that turn into flesh and blood bats.
pointy ears dont say vampire to me nor does really anything else about his apearance but each to his own.

He actually looks like Hades from that Disney Movie, Hercules, so I bet the bats were just a touch of Oda, fitting with the whole theme of Thriller Bark.
Anyways, Kaido must be extremely powerful to have defeated someone with such annoying ability as Moria's. I'm even wondering if Mihawk and the Emeperors made it so far because they didn't ate a Devil Fruit….
-
Seeing that the most popular theory about Kaidou is that he/she's one of the Yonkou, he/she kinda has to be powerful enough to beat one of the Shichibukai.
Moria's power definately seems very weird and cool at the same time. He also has some interesting backstory and again, a comparison to Luffy - they both have realized they need the help of others to succeed.
-
Luffy needs the help. Moria needs the slave labour.
"create exeptional underlings" what the hell is up with that?… bastard

Who's Kaido? blahblahblah
-
the
guyperson that Moria lost to. thats all we know. -
Fantastic chapter alright. finally Moria is actually a character and LOL @ Absolom. for some questioned i queried whether or not he was actually a zombie. it seems that's been put to bed. Fantastic work Oda. Thanks to all involved in the release i grabbed (Bloodshock i think)
-
Well hes not entirely human. but are we sure hes undead? perhaps hes just a cyborg like Franky? (300kg is a lot for his body mass)
-
i go with the theory that absalom is wearing invisible weights
-

muscle is heavier than fat and he's a zombie, who knows how tightly packed it is.
We've already been through this. His size hasn't changed. It's just that the three zombies are midgets.
The only difference is he now has pointy teeth. Big deal. His eyes, haircut, pants, gloves, and particular legs were all the same the first time he appeared.
i subscribe to this.
-
I wanna call plot problem.
Moria already lost to Kaido, but still didn't give up his dream, to counter Oda's saying that when Luffy beats someone and won't kill them because he already crashed their dream.
Instead, Moria resolved his stuff and struck again.
And I called because even thought Luffy can make Moria abandon his zombies, there's no telling how he can't get the M3 again and do the same fucking thing, only with more experience. -
luffys opponents have to start from scratch after their defeat, ruining their work
-
…I'm not sure you understood what I meant.
-
maybe not
well, whatever, yes he could do the same thing again
-
think kingudora understood what you meant but was a bit short in his answer. when Luffy defeats an oponent he strips them of their power and crushes the dream they are just about to realize.
however Luffy cant prevent them from starting another dream (beginning all over again). This has already been shown in the BW coverstory, even though all the officers were defeated they still had their dreams. Crocodiles was still to become PK, Luffy did nothing to make sure Crocodile never rose again. The Marines are the only thing preventing Croc to start all over again. Nothing Luffy did prevents him form doing that.
-
Yeah, that's what I said. That's why I called problem.
Because Oda said even while they're not sure to stay quiet, They will stay quiet, they don't believe they can make their dream come true.
But now there's someone who lost, doing the exact opposite. ~~ -

Crocodile actually lost his Nakama, so that made him an indifferent person who gave a damn about destroying an entire country and didn't trust anyone, so that's how Crocodile became the schichibukai he was. Who knows, maybe very deeply within Crocodile, he wanted Pluton to accomplish the dream that he once had with his friends, that being becoming the Pirate King...
So, yeah, it's not the dream what changes, but the means.
Moria lost, so his new means to accomplish his dream is to rely on a vast amount of subordinates, including ones with ubber powers....
PS: I had to point out that, since It wasn't Luffy who defeated Moria and Crocodile for the FIRST time in their lives as pirates...
-
Oda formulated himslef badly when he said that about not killing people? or an iffy translation?
I mean we got all of theese people commeing back. Alvida.. Buggy… Even Gin promised to be back someday in the grand line.
either something is missquoted or its the biggest plothole ever...
-
Quit over analyzing mundane things.
oh wait manga forum nvm

This post is deleted!

Moria has subordinates do his work for him, but unlike Crocodile, nothing we've seen implies that Moria lacks trust and compassion for his henchmen. Perona, Absalom, and Dr. Hogback all seem to be taken well care of. All Moria asks of them is to do their job as subordinates.
-
If i was in the same situation as moria i would trust Absolom even if he was selling his own mother against her will…
Even if Hogback Perona and Absolom arent zombies every other zombie on TB bows to Morias absolute will. Absolom is in a seat of power and relies on Moria and hogback for that power. the chance of Absolom finding an equal or better possition in someone elses crew is about as big as Life evolving all over again in Califas bathtub imo.
-
What in blazes are you talking about, Carter?

I dont recall that. Could you refresh my memory on when that happened?

Simple, he only said to stop theorizing over generic stuff. Whatever if Luffy's opponents lose to him, they still come back no matter blah blah blah. Also, Moria's dream doesn't seem something that can be destroyed by "The Amazing Luffy", in fact it reminds Buggy a bit.
-
Well hes not entirely human. but are we sure hes undead? perhaps hes just a cyborg like Franky? (300kg is a lot for his body mass)
Where was it stated that Absalom weighs 300kg?
How much does he exactly weigh if that is true?
-
this very chapter. by the zombies after Sanji kicks him (Absolom).
300kg is massive. 100kg is usually considered overweight for most bonestructurres/lenghts… unless you are a bodybuilder.. then you are just really "buff". (sorry i dont know the kg to pound ratio we use the metric system in my country)
If its just fat then you will look something like "jabba the hut" from starwars when weighing 300kg. It will require an industrial forklift to move him around.

I disagree
And I"m going to end this with that before it becomes a fight

No need to be morose and angry Rootbeer, that discussion's just crap over lack of point.
-
Who said I was angry? I must say Im feeling quite SUPAAA today!
Speaking of which, the cyborg has been growing on me as of late. Though I still believe Oda could have done a better job on his character
-
that instant bridge building technique could really come in handy in the future. i just hope things dont get too easy or it wont be fun
-
That"s the major reason why I"m pretty iffy on Franky"s fighting style
Endless possibilities of deus ex machina -
Well, at least Oda doesn't try to explain all that stuff by making up some hidden, all-powerful force (thinks of Naruto).
As for Absalom being 300 Kg's, he probably does have some mechanical parts in that body Hogback made for him; considering he can shoot fireballs out of his hands (while having a devil fruit that makes him invisible; which is probably the case).

Invisible Weaponry…
He must have weapopns like Usopp, yet others to do heavy damage, perhaps an iron ball with a chain or yo-yos of doom...
-
Hehe, great chapter. Of course, I'm such a big Sanji fan, so of course I'd like it. I was a little disappointed in that it went so quickly, though. I'd like to see Absalom put up a little more of a fight in the next chapter.
-
I'm going with the theory that Absalom is a magician.
I think that he shoots the invisible balls (or whatever) from his sleevesand I'm stiil not clear on Perona being a "spirit woman"…
Isn't that all magic? or something else?
I thought that OP wasn't supposed to have magic, or did I think wrong? -
Perona is a Devil Fruit user.
-
actually i think oda may have a misconception of actual weight considering he said sanji was 5'8" and weighed 108 lbs.

I thought that OP wasn't supposed to have magic, or did I think wrong?I still say it's invisible weaponry. The zombies must have been surprised because they knew that Absalom was carrying lots of weapons, explaining his weight of 300kg…
And OP does have Dragons, or at least that would be the case if the Ryuuma of this arc had the exact past of the Ryuuma from Oda's one shots, so there may be a slight chance for Magic, perhaps it will be involved with the creation of Devil Fruits, but there's a greater chance that "Aliens did it"...
-
This was a good chapter! I'm still enjoying Moria being a lazy fat slob! He's not a handsome, fit bishonen and that's jim dandy. It would be cool if the reason Moria's weight correlated to the time he met Hogback. That would explain a lot!
As for Absalom, there's a 99.9% chance he has a Devil Fruit. Why not? In the One Piece world, almost everything paranormal/supernatural can be explained by Devil Fruits. It would be odd yet interesting if Absalom had a non-Devil Fruit power. On the other hand, Perona and Moria had Devil Fruits so why not Absalom?
-
If Perona is a DF user, what's the name of her DF?
I always thought nothing was said about her abilities except that she uses negative hollows…hmm...strange...In what chapter was it explained that she has a DF? Don't know how I could've missed that... damn!
so, basically she controls spirits, right? if that's true, then I bet she'll have all kinds of other attacks like stupid hollow, or confuse hollow...?
I want Perona to join, that's why I'm interested
-
Perona has the Ghost Ghost Fruit (Horo Horo no Mi). It allows her to create and control ghosts. Her ghosts have the ability to make people negative. Perona even says she has the Ghost Ghost Fruit in Chapter 461. I kid you not!

I don't remember what chapter it was but she did recentley mention having the ghost ghost fruit here's an artical:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thriller_Bark
As for Abs I rather like the magican theory, the original Romance Dawn one shot had a magican in it and it would explain Abs' taste in clothes. -
If it was mentioned in Chapter 461, then BS Manga forgot to add that little tidbit.
