The other sword is that cursed demonic sword, where all the previous masters have supposedly died or something.
The one that was destroyed was the free sword that the shopkeep offered for no charge.

Why does everybody think that the shadows will be returned if theyt beat Moria. Whats the point of Zoro vs. Ryuuma if when Moria is beaten the shadow goes back? Same with Robin vs. Cindry…
I wouldn't mind this arc getting wrapped up soon anyway, I love it and all, but its closing in on lasting almost eight months... I am itching to see Jimbei.

Well, if Luffy and Co. are so confident, just go with the flow. It might even count as a plothole if Moria won't die and the shadows will be freed.
About the point with the shadow fights, it's purely for self defense. Zoro is protecting Brooke and the rest are threatening the SHs in various ways.

Probably that little thing called "fanservice".
That, and we don't know what happens to the shadows after "purification" (unless I missed something). Zoro also needs a new sword, and it's not like these zombies are going to step out of the way. It's a thing of immediacy.
It's not like Perona & Co. would just let the Strawhats swarm on Moria, anyway.
That, and technically, Zoro and Franky were already too late in saving Brook's afro. The only reason it wasn't hacked off is because Odz was fucking around. Basically, the Strawhats don't really have time to just go beat up on Moria, since both Nami and Brook need to be protected.
i dont think brook want to go back to laboon before he get to raftel
it would be like "sorry we couldnt make it to raftel. we were to weak and died"
i dont think laboon would be happy
@Kaimei-Karasuhebi:
Or he can use whatever that allows Thriller Bark to get back to West Blue, and since he already knows West Blue, then it would be far easy to get to the Mountain without having to fight against the thousands of pirates that are awaiting on the New World….
Whatever allows TB to get back to West Blue? How do you know TB can come in and out of the GL so easily?
Not to mention, he'd need to control this huge ship. With who, the old and wounded grandpas waiting for death?

what!?
think about what you just wrote.
if i put it this way, laboon would be happier if brook made it to raftel before he returns to laboon
@bluebird47:
just quickly now, if zoro obtains this 21 sword, and he has another 21 sword given by his master, what is the other sword he's holding?
I don't think it was stated what class the cursed sword was in, only that it was a Wazomono, though it's likely in the same class as the Yubasashi that broke (one fo the 50 Ryou-Wazomono), since the 1st generation was one of the 12 Saijou Oo Wazomono, and the 2nd was one of the 21 Oo Wazomono, I'd assume the 3rd generation which he has would be a class lower if it's grouped like that.

But wasn't there a list in the Databook which shows all wazomono swords and their rank… And the 3rd kitetsu wasn't in it??? But I'm not sure...
Why is everyone ignoring the fact that the entire F'ing reason he protects his afro is because he said it's the only part of his former body remaining and it WONT grow back! So why would any other part of him grow back? That'd be a complete controdiction.
i don't know if anyone replied to this, but we've seen flashbacks with brooke's skull damaged, and when the SHs first met him, his skull looked fine. it's still unclear whether this is just a manga device of characters going from hurt to healed or if brooke undergoes a process that heals his bones. it could be an aspect of his resurrection DF.
the afro won't grow back because it survived the decaying process from that long period of time when he was separated from his body when he became a skeleton. it's the last remaining vestige of his former human self.

How about the idea that Brooke simply glued his skull parts back together? His afro, on the other hand, would have to keep its entire length to stay in its afro-shape (unless it's cut off at the roots and fashioned into a wig…).
Brook's skull should grow back. Assuming his body works like a normal one, bone grows back, slowly though. Brook's will probably heal faster, though, for the sake of getting on with the story.
Also, I didn't check the posts before but did anyone else notice that in the last panel with Chopper and Hogback, Jigoro and Dogpen are coming towards Hogback? Not hard to spot at all, but it tells us how Hogback will 'fight'. He's going to hide behind the zombies because he probably has no combat skill at all, which is why he was threatened by Brook easily without being able to retaliate.
Also, does anyone else see a resemblence between Hogback and the Millenium Earl?
Also, does anyone else see a resemblence between Hogback and the Millenium Earl?
I've mostly been drawing parallels to Eggman from the Sonic games. Both round-bodied mad scientists, and all.
Also, does anyone else see a resemblence between Hogback and the Millenium Earl?
If Hogback had the Devil Fruit of Nightmares, lured people to turn their dreams into reality, but actually used them to gain power from their greatest fears, thus creating an army of Nightmare monsters, then I would have tought that Hogback was similar to the Earl, but yeah, he's far more similar to Eggman and the Doctor from Nightmare before Christmas.
Anyways, I think the Unnamed Zombie, the latest Hogback finished, will play an important role, at least to stop Franky and Brooke for a while untill more appropiate opponents like Captain Jonh or the Gunslinger arrive…
I'm talking look-wise. The coat from the freezer, the round shape, the ears, the perpetual grin and more.

to save a nakama in trouble and it would be lame if luffy was da only one to fight and everyone watch like in dbz
I'm just glad that Zoro's sword problem is over. :]
and I can't wait to see Sanji kick some ass, although Nami ((when she wakes up and it's all over)) Won't recall a thing and so sanji will get let down, once more. :P but hell it's funny anyways.
and as far as this arc goes, I 'm ready to see either the Redline or Jeimbi
Yeah, I want to see Sanji go supersayin on Absalom's invisible ass.
This chapter is definitely a great one. And the whole arc is really cool.
I'm glad this week's spoiler wasn't a fake one !

I thought Ryuma said it was one of the 25 best swords in the world? Wouldn't that put it in the 21 Oo Wazomono or something?
Prutas… CodedTech is talking about the second sword zoro got. the cursed one he and Tashigi picked out of the bargain bin at that swordshopp in lounge town.
So yeah Ryuumas sword is one of the 21 wazzayoumightacalleit.
The marine girlfriend-like of zoro is going to be really jealous the next time they will met !
have someone got a brook gif?

That's for sure!
If not for breaking one high grade sword, then for acquiring (soon) yet another one. And the new sword has markings similar to Tashigi's sword – so the swords could somehow be related. Which would probably make poor Tashigi even angrier.

Oh my god that's not Zoro's girl friend. Can we please not call her something she's not.
Zoros demonsteel belongs to the third greatest group ^^
Hmm Ive always wondered what kind of sword Mihawk has. Wouldn't it be cool if it was best sword in the world? Very fitting for the best swordsman in the world.
It seems like a big mordern chinese sword, but in christian style- kinda some sort of spaninsh fencing? But the sword is most likely jsut the sword HIS master agve him and ahs no histroically connection like The Meitou is this world. These meitou has connections with real famous swords from some of the best swordmakers in japan/yhe old Japan.

@Stephen's:
Mihawk: I will remember it.
I have not seen such "strength" in some time.
And with the courtesy of the swordsman,
I will sink you with my ebony blade, the strongest in the world.
16 hawks

Its not his girlfriend not even in the slightest bit… :wassat: They are basically enemies with a slight aquantance. Sadly, they probably won't meet for a few years time (I mean real life years).
Great chapter.
My favorite parts were when Odz was destroying Triller Bark, Odz using Gatling Gun at the general zombies, and the fight with Perona and Usopp.
I predict that Nami will awake from the shaking of Triller Bark and Usopp will use a new weapon to fight against Perona.
Anyway, can't wait for the next chapter.

Did I call Tashigi his girlfriend?
No.
Did sernico call Tashigi his girlfriend?
Sort of.
(Sernico said she was "girlfriend like", but not "girlfriend".)
Neither of us said she was his girlfriend.

Sorry, but I disagree (to some degree …) - Zoro and Tashigi have quite a personal relationship.
Zoro is struck (and very irritated) by Tashigis resemblence to his old girlfriend and feels rather uncomfortable with this.
Tashigi felt personally betrayed/fooled by Zoro when he turned out to be an "evil" pirate after she got on friendly terms with him in the sword shop (and was surely impressed to some degree)
So it´s surely not the regualar marine vs. pirate story between them...
I´m afraid this is the nearest thing to "romance" we´re gonna get in OP, a man who is irritated by a woman (and trying to avoid her) and a woman who´s pursuing a man whom, in other circumstances, she rather would have taken a liking into - excuse my english
before anyone says that kuina or tashagi wasnt/isnt zoros girlfriend just cut it out guys its a language barrier problem dont get so upset about it.
He picked up her glasses without being told to do so. He got ready to defend her before he realized that she could defend herself. When she said she wanted to take all the best swords from all the evil swordsmen, he flirted with her – asking her if she intended to take his sword from him. Later, when she insisted that he buy a certain sword, he agreed with her assessment and even asked her to choose another one for him.
With the exception of Robin, we've never seen Zoro treat a woman so kindly before. We've also never seen him switch his opinion about a woman so quickly before, after Tashigi accused him of lying to her. They fought, but that's what "passion" is: suffering.
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/passion
Sometimes it's suffering for something good, and sometimes it's suffering for something bad. And in their case, I think it's a bit of both.
I don't think they'll ever be romantically involved, but they'll probably always feel strongly about each other – good and bad.
[As a side note, just wait till Franky finds out that Zoro told Tashigi that he "can't accept the fact that she exists." – Franky'll give him hell for that!]
Hmm Ive always wondered what kind of sword Mihawk has. Wouldn't it be cool if it was best sword in the world? Very fitting for the best swordsman in the world.
黒刀 夜 Kokutou Yoru: The Black Blade Yoru
Yoru being 'night' and blade being 'katana'. It's also one of the 12 Saijou Oowazamono!!
From the Yellow thread.
Oh yeah, guys Zoro defended her, but guess what! Zoro also defended a bunch of villagers at Coco village! That must mean he is cheating on Tashigi!
And he asked if he wanted to take this sword from him because he was more looking for a challenging fight, not in a sexual or indimating way AT ALL. And Frankly, I wouldn't even consider Kuina his old girlfriend, they were more just buddies at the dojo. I didn't see a relationship bloom besides friendship. Yes, people, girls can be boys friends too without being their girlfriend! Yes, its suprising isn't it?!?!? I hope that gets my input through.
Wait, are we talking about love….in One Piece?
What kind of crap is this?

…. just chill Moria, there´s no reason to become upset.
from my (admittedly old) dictionary:
"girlfriend - regular companion with whom one may or may not be in love ..."
edit: and onemoment is of course right - there doesn´t exist something like a "romantic" girlfriend in One Piece (probably some gravity anomaly in the shonen universe).
I didn't see a relationship bloom besides friendship. Yes, people, girls can be boys friends too without being their girlfriend! Yes, its suprising isn't it?!?!? I hope that gets my input through.
It does. And you're right of course.
It's just friendship. But is a very intense kind of friendship – a friendship that sometimes leans towards love and sometimes leans towards hate.
Maybe you haven't had a friendship like this before -- and that's ok. It's usually better to avoid them if possible, because they usually cause a person more heartache than happiness.
So I'll repeat just once more and then I'll promise to drop the subject: I never said that Tashigi and Zoro were boyfriend and girlfriend. I only said that they have an interesting relationship. (And when I say "relationship", I don't mean "dating" -- I only mean the way that they interact with each other as friends and as enemies).
Ok….getting back on topic.
I have been noticing people have been calling Oz "Odz". Is that some kind of bizarro spelling people are trying to make popular because ever since his intro it's been Oz.
According to resident Japanese expert guy Greg, it's Odz.
Ok….getting back on topic.

This is it in Katakana:
"オ—ズ"
That's "O" stretched and then "Zu". There are two ways to represent zu a hard one and a softer one. Since this is the hard one I'm guessing the translators used "dz" to stress it. But they missed out the stretched "O". Maybe they thought Moria was emphasising it when he first said it in chapter 456. Or maybe they have accents that pronounce "Odz" with a stretched "o" naturally.
Anyway that was the source of the confusion but it's going start up all over again in a year or so when this part gets animated and people hear it said.
Hmm Ive always wondered what kind of sword Mihawk has. Wouldn't it be cool if it was best sword in the world? Very fitting for the best swordsman in the world.
it is, In the one piece world. :P
