Was that a poll? I thought it was of the league MVPs that were awarded after the end of the Bando game.
Similiar like that, it's a poll where fans vote the best player in each position (not all, though) to make an All-Star team.

wait they actualy choose Yamabushi and Jumonji over the likes of Line monsters like Banba,Otawara and that crazy bastard on the dinosaurs team ? id take monster guy and Otaware/Banba over both of them together anyday of the week, other than that i had no real oppositions other than that they should have a Kicker(Kotaro ofc) and they should get Akaba and Tetsuma in there to and theyd have a real dream team.
I don't think Gaou (the Dinosaur's monster guy) was on the poll, since I'm pretty sure that voting began before he was introduced. However, going by the page after this, which announced the full results…

Except people probably based their votes on how much they like the characters, and I'd vote for Juumonji and Yamabushi too.
My lineup:
Quarterback: Kid (or Hiruma, I like them both but I think I like Kid more)
Runningback: …I don't really like most of the running backs. But I guess Agon and Sena.
Receiver: Tetsuma Jou, Natsuhiko
Line: Juumonji, Yamabushi, Komusubi, Gaoh (if he doesn't count, then Kurita or Ootawara)
Defense: Rui (lol), Shin.
ah my bad didnt realize it was a popularity contest i figured it was to put together the best team not put together your favorite team,
well if i just picked them due to which i like most and not who i thought would win itd look something like this.
Quarterback:Marco/Homer
Receivers:Monta/Tetsuma
Offensive line:Kurita(center),Otawara(guard),Banba(guard),Gao (tackle),Gonzales(tackle) and Natsuhiko as tight end.
Running back:Sena(Runningback),Akaba(fullback)
Kicker:Kotaro
Defensive line:Onihei(end),Toganou(end),Ikari(tackle),Mizumachi (tackle).
Linebackers:Habashira(Mike),Shin(Sam),Kuroki(will).
Safetys:Agon(strong),Panther(free)
Cornerbacks:Sakuraba,Kamaguruma.
New chapter, aaaaaand
! IT´S A HOMERUUUUUUUUN!!
No, wait, it´s a Touch down using some baseball technique to cacth the ball(Sena did the Devilbat Dive and then passed to Monta, who was in the Touch down field)…but now Ootawara looks angry...
Oh yeah, forgot about my kicker. I gotta give that to Musashi.
There's still one minute and ten seconds left in the game…....I want it to end already!!!!!!!!!!!!! Though I will be mad if Oujou wins after all that.
Dang when I saw Ootawara's face at the end of that chapter, I knew that this game had pretty much entered the final extreme stage. (I've never seen him so angry before) Hopefully they are not going to have overtime but at least the last minute (with Ojo holding the ball again) is pretty much down to "stopping Shin and Sakuraba one more time".
Anyone know a good place to download this? been meaning to start it.

Read this week's chapter:
! Only one thing to say really: the game ends with next week's cover. Sort of surprised Yukimitsu barely seemed to stop Shin by tripping him up..but we don't know if he got it over the goalline as time ran out. Basically, the next chapter determines how much longer the series is going to go….oh, and more great Ootawara rage this week.
Deimon vs. Ojou is sort of getting dragged out, but the suspense is killing me. I caught up to you guys this week.
I like the manga, but the recent cliffhangers make it look like a soapopera.
This game must end. I wonder what Ojou will do if they lose to Deimon.
I wouldn't be surprised if somehow in the skirmish there's a safety or a suicide goal, to drag out the game even more. The pace has been really shitty for awhile now.
Although I really don't get why they have to drag these crucial games to a half year, next week is the ending I believe. Whatever the result of Shin's final play will determine the direction of the series…besides, if the game doesn't end now, then they can't get started on the next game :p
I can understand dragging out all the big games so much, since it has to seem arduous if you want to walk away from it feeling "yeah, they worked so hard; they totally deserved to win that," which is one thing I think this series does best (although the anime cheapens it considerably). That being said, I don't think I'll start reading again until the end of the game; the last part I read was when Sena was trying to stop Shin for 0.2 seconds or whatever, and I'd rather take the game in as a whole instead of in bits and pieces (I caught up with the manga the chapter the Shinryuji game ended, so I was able to read through that in one day).
Oh, by the way, Gendou has the full versions of the new opening and ending…http://gendou.com/amusic/
New chapter.
! Game isn't over. Ojo scored making it 40-36. I think there's 1 second left on the clock and Sena is gonna go against shin one last time to see if he can score.

! The situation actually is this: Deimon gets the ball back with one second left, the plan was to get the ball to Sena, get it back down the field and end it…but somehow Ootawara ended up kicking and the ball is now in Monta's hands. I think there was also something about risking a time out, but the game is basically "over" once this play ends.
! Personally hate that the game is being dragged yet again (when they said "climax", I expected Shin to miss the TD and end it already), but its a great ending and hopefully we get closer to the end next time.

Why? Why can't it end?
@Pirateguywithapplepie:

Hey, they're milking it and its more "cliffhangery" than anything most of the other manga have done lately.
! Although they seem to enjoy dragging it out at any opportunity they can get, at least the game can't possibly drag on into overtime, since Deimon can't get exactly 4 points in one play.
What happened to the extra point kick or the two points? If they got those two points, then a touchdown would tie it. Did I miss something?
The knights were the one who scored, but missed the kick putting them in the lead by 4.
Now with a one second on the clock they have to get a TD to win.
Oh very cool how yuki pushed shin over to give them that one second.
A little bit of news on the anime.
I can only see bad things coming from this.
Well the good thing is that the ES21 anime is coming to the states (even if on Jetstream)…but the bad news is that the ES21 anime isn't as amazing and cool as the manga. At least the good news is if people like the anime, they'll discover the crazy brilliance of the manga.
Hebert needs to play sakubara!
Though this is good news I guess. Though the anime's pretty much crap. Though if it does well then that means a chance that the wii game might come out here, which I've always wanted to play.
Who's dubbing it? Hopefully the english version won't be horrible. It probably won't be that bad. But I wonder what would happen if 4-kids dubbed it…............... They would probably rename the team the Detroit Daring Bats (or something like that......) And they wouldgive each of the characters American names. Anyway I just hope the dub will somehow improve the anime. Somehow.
Viz is dubbing it.
Well Viz has been known to screw up at times, but I'll keep my hopes up.

And what do you do with NASA :p Personally, its a take on a "foreign sport" (American Football) in a country not used to it, so I don't think Viz will change a thing. (unless they give it the Gash treatment and eliminate most of the music and turn Hiruma's guns green)
I'm happy to see that the Eyeshield anime is coming to the US, even though it's nowhere near the manga in quality. I wonder what Hiruma's voice will sound like…..
Anywho, the only problem I have is that it's gonna be on Toonami Jetstream. As great as that service is, it means Eyeshield might not get a TV broadcast, which I'd love to see. And even if it does, they might end up doing what they did with Prince of Tennis and MAR and not even show the episodes in order on tv. (Whoever decided to air the episodes in no particular order when they put these shows on Toonami was a serious dumbass)

They did start airing MAR & PoT in order, but have subsequently pulled them for some reason to bring back F4 and show more TT reruns. Personally wish ES21 would get a trial on CN (bad interpretation or not, at least it will be out there)…or if all else fails, there's the NFL Network. (though I doubt gridiron junkies would want to watch an anime when they could watch some commentators, um, giving a fifth perspective on a game)

Maybe the Toonami people finally figured out how stupid it was to air a series out of order and hope for it to still do well.
I wouldn't mind having Eyeshield 21 on the NFL Network exclusively, although you're right most hardcore Football fans wouldn't be too receptive to it.
Quick note about the early out-of-order PoT and MAR airings; They weren't originally intended to stay on Toonami. If I had to guess, I'd say that both of those were test runs, and did well enough in the ratings to merit a full-fledged run on Toonami.

I can actually see ES21 doing well on a sports network because Daddy sees it as a way to indoctrinate his kids who are more interested in them damn Interwebs and their Jap-a-neez Ah-ni-mays than football.
Whats is so different about the manga? the anime seemed all right to me
It basically guts the source material, leaving only a hollow shell in its place. Babies weep at the sight of it, cats and dogs run into their homes, the heavens turn overcast, etc.
It's really really sloppy and you shouldn't watch it.
Here's what you'll get if you watch the ES21 anime:
-Toned down gunplay & language (OK, the latter isn't that big a deal…but Hiruma does throw F-bombs a lot)
-Loss of the really cool art replaced by "passable anime style"
-Plot points moved, done out of order or eliminated that's extremely crucial for later actions. (Ojo/Shinryuji in the Spring Tournament, Sena's encounter with Marco at the Kanto seeding)
-Fillers...lots of fillers.
At least that's what I've heard.
It's pretty much what'd happen if 4Kids made an anime adaptation of a comic book.
New chapter:
! All I can say with this chapter is that Hiruma is perhaps one of the most brilliant madmen in manga. Using a fake-out play to make it seem like a one-in-four chance of tackling the ballholder leading to Sena getting the ball back. And all I can say now is this:
! Next week: Sena. Shin. Final battle.
@Tokoro:

Hopefully this truly is the final battle and we won't get into another two chapters of this game. I mean it's exiting but to damn long. I'm kinda getting tired of it. kinda like the anime where they keep showing The Nasa Aliens. they appear to much! At least they could have made up a filler team instead of using the aliens over and over. Worse than that is the episode where the Poseidon and the Spiders join together to train the Devil Bats or something. Even worse is when they played the Sphinx during the tournament. i mean i guess they could play together but shouldn't they be working on ways to defeat the teams they're actually going to play? And then they didn't change the hair!!!!! They changed Musashi's hair to the mohawk for less then a minute. Why? Who knows? And for some reason Sena couldn't take Akaba's eyeshield? And then they'res all the other things they've skipped!!!!! Sigh….......... Remind me why I still watch the anime again?
Well anyway with the Anime coming out in America Viz and the American Shonen Jump will show more of Eyeshield. (you know they will)

I think this is it. Time's up and this is the last play. Whoever wins this showdown takes everything.
Then Sena goes down after 16 pages of running/internal monologue and the game's over but then in the next next it turns out he was knocked out of bounds and he grabbed a piece of turf so there's .00001 seconds left in the game and then it all starts over again
And then Ootawara explodes.

That would be bizarre, but the game clock expired in this chapter. If the game doesn't end next chapter, its only because the play isn't over. (though at this rate, its probably going to be the longest play in the history of time…TAKE THAT NAMEK TIME!)

F-bombs or machine guns; hiruma is still hiruma.
the artwork; I actually perfer the anime art. I was thinking of picking up a few ES21 manga, but the artwork wasn't apealing to me, so picked up FMA instead.
plot points/messing with the story; ok, this is a valid point. Though, you've never seen for yourself. I really don't think it's THAT bad as what you say. the anime is still enjoyable, even if panther's coach isn't racist.
is there really that many fillers? i'm sure there are, but your the first ive heard to make a big complaint of it. nothing's really bothered me so far.
you can express your like for the manga, and say it's better. i just don't think the anime suck so badly.
