So apparently SEGA's next sport game will include Sonic and Mario, but it's still not worth my money.
BTW sorry for all u 56K users ^_^;;

/insert obligatory Sonic for SSBB here
So people actually buy Nintendo/Sega sports titles?
-
Mario whoring knows no bound.
-
Bowser and Dr. Robotnik team up to steal the Olympic Torch, and it's up to two major franchise characters to foil them
-
^ Lawlz I can so see them using that plot, This looks interesting though.
-
This is just absolute madness. I thought Mario and Sonic were done doing actual human stuff back when they were introduced and ha their own low-quality cartoons. And now this comes along. Well, at least they're in Asia this time rather than America.

@Cap'n:

Place your bets.

@Private:
Place your bets.
i got 50 bucks on that one
-
Hopefully this crap will distract all those "Sonic for Brawl" people long enough for HAL to keep him out.
-
OMGWTFBBQ
Sonic and Mario…finaly in the same game....Even if it is a sports game, THIS IS SO SUPER SPECIAL AWESOME! This better not be an April Fools Joke, it is not even April yet. But WOW no one saw this coming. I am not sure if this helps or hurts Sonic's chances of being in Brawl. It could help by showing that Sonic and Mario do fit together, and also another exclusive Wii game for Sonic. But it could hurt because maybe Nintendo did not have enough time to put Sonic in Brawl, so they decide to do this instead. Hrmm....
-
Wow, looks cool. I bet my money on Capt Carter's plot idea.
-
Hopefully this crap will distract all those "Sonic for Brawl" people long enough for HAL to keep him out.
NO IT WILL NOT SONIC WILL BE IN THERE
-
So how would Mario outrun Sonic in an olympic race? Super-powered Plumber boots?
-

Not Only that, THEY'RE IN CHINA! Beijing

Where's the link?

o_o
All my life I've wanted to see a Mario/Sonic crossover game but like THIS… Honestly, I don't know what to think. I'll wait for more information.
-
http://arrisconsultants.comI dunno, I may be wrong, but this could be an April Fool's trick.

http://www.nintendo.com/newsarticle?articleid=t5eT-QaVMFMIfXI3Z_abfVviRBskksJrIf it's on BOTH Nintendo's AND Sega's official websites, then it's most likely true. Besides, it's a little early forl an April Fool's joke.
EDIT The chances of Sonic being in SSB Brawl are definitely looking up!
-
Look, Snic is still barely my favorite chracter. The 4Kids voice actors and the games that shouldn't have been made, it's really ruining y favorite character.
Who knows, maybe they can turn it around with this. I don't know what Nintendo was thinking giving Sega the rights to make a game with their mascot alone, though.
-
Hopefully this crap will distract all those "Sonic for Brawl" people long enough for HAL to keep him out.
Why would they keep him out if both of their creators AND the director of SSBB want him in?
-
Why would they keep him out if both of their creators AND the director of SSBB want him in?
I don't know what that guy's problem is(who you quoted). Sonic deserved to be in Brawl.
Why are there idiots out there who think having Sonic in is a bad thing, and act like people who want him in are as bad as those people who put characters in fiction together as a couple? It's not like we're saying "OMG Sonic needs to be in brawl so he can marry Mario" we're saying we want to use Sonic to kick Snake and Mario into oblivion!!!!
-
Yes, because a differing opinion automatically means he has a problem.
-
Look all I'm saying is that Sonic is a miserable franchise that should be wiped from the planet.
-
More unnecessary proof that its for real: http://sonic.sega.jp
-
Did you ever notice how Sonic people only have a single eye with two pupils?
My future roommate will probably buy it when it comes out.
Edit: Geno for SSBB
-
Yeah that always bugged me
-
This has to be an April Fools joke…
-
That is not a good idea. Period.

Oh Shit!
IT'S ON!!
FRANCHISE WAR! FRANCHISE WAR!
SHIT IS GOIN' DOWN PEOPLE! SHIT IS GOIN' DOWN!

I just find it amusing how unthinkable something like this would be in early 90's.
-
One thing you must realize: You DO NOT use the Olympics logo or any joke. Using that logo for any purpose alone can cost tons of money. Nobody wants to spend that much on a simple joke, so that game has to be real, whether you want to believe it or not.
And also, I've seen every topic on this game and found out one thing: 95% of the people hates Olympics. What is with that hate?
-
Actually, its more like 95% of people hate Sonic getting involved in any crossovers. Ugh, I hate the week before April Fools day.
-
Yeah, everything somewhat big you do people almost always assume is a joke. And sometimes it is a joke, but looking back it's obvious which were real and which were fake(often the questionable ones are real).
And yeah, in the early 90's nothing like this would EVER be thinkable. Now, who knows, this is probably for real.
-
Correction: Any big thing anyone announces the friggin' week before April Fools Day is taken as a joke.
-
Dude, this has got to be real. If it isn't…

@IGN:
**IGN: So we won't see Sonic appearing in Super Smash Bros. Brawl?
Laurent Fischer:** That's not on the cards at the moment.
Mike Hayes: Really, we felt that the Olympics provided a neutral ground for the two stars.
Laurent Fischer: Yes, the Olympics are something very special. If you have ever been to the Olympics it's amazing to see the spirit of the people watching the events - people share in a very special moment. That is something we want to recreate with Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games.
-
I hope these games end up like the ones in Munich
-
Hmm..It must be the special olympics..

We can never go back to Munich!

@yusaku:
The sequel to DS's own Sonic Rush has been announced:
http://www.sega-europe.com/en/NewsStory/1519.htmSEGA Europe and SEGA of America today announced the development of Sonic Rush Adventure for the Nintendo DS. Sonic Rush Adventure will seamlessly utilise both screens of the Nintendo DS to navigate the high seas in search of pirate treasure, delivering Sonic's classic high-speed 2D gameplay in the ultimate Sonic handheld experience. Developed by SEGA Studios, Sonic Rush Adventure for the Nintendo DS will be available in Autumn 2007.
Sonic returns to the Nintendo DS in an all-new frantic adventure complete with dizzying dives, near vertical curves and brain twisting loops. Sonic Rush Adventure will retain the DS action that fans loved so much from Sonic Rush, as well as providing a new high seas adventure where Sonic clashes with ruthless pirates. Players will set off from Windmill Village as Sonic and blast their way through seven action-packed and widely diverse levels. Sonic Rush Adventure will make full use of the DS Download Play feature and Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, which enables gamers to compete with friends in wireless racing and mission-based battles.
Players will speed through action stages to uncover valuable items and materials which all Tails to build new ships to help Sonic discover the high seas. With a fleet of up to five ships, including a submarine, water bike and hovercraft, Sonic Rush Adventure uses the Touch Screen technology in exciting new ways. Use the Nintendo DS Stylus to help control vessels as they race across the ocean gathering rings, performing tricks, and torching pirate boats, whilst engaging in fierce ship-to-ship battles. At the end of each level, epic 3D boss battles spanning both screens will test gamers skills to result in an ultimate showdown with the evil pirate, Captain Whisker.
Sonic Rush Adventure allows players to bounce, fly, swing, ride and run through grand environments of lush forests, an ominous ghost ship, snow covered mountains, pirate villages and a vast underwater sea cave. Along the way there will be a variety of enemy characters to battle against including robots, skeleton warriors, pterodactyls, and a robotic triceratops.

YEAH SWEET I LOVED THE FIRST SONIC RUSH
i hope they make this good
-
Awesome, I can't wait.
The first Sonic Rush is the best Sonic game to come out in..well, forever. I can't imagine how awesome a sequel to improve on that will be.
Hmm, no mention of Blaze huh..
-
I'm hoping other characters will be playable. Despite being a Sonic fan I actually prefer playing as Knuckles where possible and was disappointed he wasn't playable in the original Sonic Rush. Still, Sonic vs Pirates. What's not to like?
-
Sonic is going up agaianst a gang of Pirates! Awesome to bad its not the starwhats :P
Anyway the Leader of this crew is a new character called "Captain Whiserks" he and Sonic and trying to find some lost treasure.

This looks fantastic. Finally, it seems that Sonic is back on an upward trend. I loved Rush, I loved Secret Rings, and I should love this as well. Can't wait.
-
Getting a ds lite was probably the best decision I've made ina while. and here's one more reason.
-
Seems like things are on the up and up for the franchise.
-
…So I take it I'm the only one here whose neck still hurts trying to get past the first few stages wondering if Sonic will appear in the upper or lower screen?
Still hope this game will do good, 3D Sonic hasn't been doing much for the fans :/
