At the end of Chapter 321, we see Aokiji mention going to Water 7 then getting closer to headquaters. Does this mean that at the end of this arc, when they return to W7( well if they ever do but that is a discussion for another time) will they meet up with Aokiji? If he decides to attack them, will luffy and the gang be tough enough to beat him? I kinda hope that he does make another appearance, so Luffy can get his revenge on Aokiji? What do you guys think about this?
Aokiji at W7

Stephen's scripts.
Aokiji: Following the Log…
The next island should be... huh?!
Water Seven... the "Water Metropolis."
Oh dear dear dear...
That's gettin' close to HQ.
Oops, sorry there! He's doesn't really sound like he's planning on going there.
-
Even if he is going there.. would it still be too early for Luffy and the gang to fight him… After all the trouble and exhaustion of fighting the CP9 and invading the Ennies Lobby, It's too impossible to fight a man with an ability like his... In comparison to Lucchi, I think a man like Ao Kiji has two - three times (maybe even more) the amount of douriki Lucchi has... so i think its too early for the mugiwara...
Moreover, Its too 'rushy' if they meet again with aokiji and then they beat the crap outta him... i dont think its really nice to the flow of the story.. at least thats what i think...
-
I forgot where.. but there was two places to go after water 7, ennies lobby and that paradise place? hm..
headquarters is beyond the gates at ennies lobby…I'm going to assume they go back to water 7.. then to another island? but not headquarters...
Oda will probably do a more humor based arc after water 7? since its been such a sad arc :'( -
you mean the islands that kokoro mentioned?? if its that is the Gourmet Island - Pucchi, Carnival Island, and Queen SPring Island (if im not wrong)….
-
He's probably at the Marine HQ, which is where Spandam, Frankfried, Robin and Lucci are going. This means Luffy might end up fighting Aokiji after Lucci; even though Lucci's at a small disadvantage against Luffy, those two are mostly likely going to break even during a battle. I'd have a hard time imagining Luffy immediately taking on Crocodile after beating up Arlong; the same should apply here.
-
but probably they will go to W7…. remember they dont have any shipps.. they need time, materials and preparations to make the ship... and they need time to make the log post to record the thingy... unless they are going by Rocketman... to the marine HQ
-
Puffing Tom is still at Enies Lobby. I can't imagine it leaving when no one is stupid enough to go out into an Aqua Laguna.
-

Hold it.
They went out in the Aqua Laguna to get to EL in the first place.

Even with Gear 2nd, Luffy needs a little more oomph before he can defeat Kuzan. Kuzan owned Saul, a friggin 50 foot tall giant in a matter of about two minutes, And the first time they fought, Luffy did Gomu Gomu no Storm to HIS FACE and Kuzan actually let some of the blows hit… the only result was that it gave Luffy Frostbite on his hands before Kuzan froze him completely.
The only person I can see concieveably beating Kuzan is Ace. Fire vs. Ice, both Logia users, and both way on the opposite sides of "Justice".
Either that, or Oda will introduce some amazing new character. Can we say Shio Shio no Mi, anyone? Course, a Salt Logia would be really weird...
There have been times where the Mugiwara didn't follow the log:
1. When they found Drum (They were following the eternal pose and then Nami got sick, so they GOT LOST)
2. Jaya (The Log Pose pointed to Skypiea, but they didn't know how to get there until they got to Mocktown and met Cricket)
3. LongRingLongLand -> Water 7 (I dunno why Kuzan said the log leads to water 7... he came there directly from Marine HQ... and plus, the Mugiwara didn't find Water 7 by following the log pose, they followed the track after meeting Kokoro and Chimney)
4. Water 7 -> Enies Lobby (Used Rocketman and the Puffing Tom)
-
They needed a doctor thats why they need to look for a doctor in the nearest island they can find.. it takes weeks to reach alabasta… (they have destination: alabasta)
They need to find a way to get to sky island... so they need to stop to the nearest island to know a way to reach there... (they have destination: sky piea)
3rd... dunno... just a filler arc probably...
4th... to save robin but they dont have to use their ships...
If they go to other island to continue their island-to-island trip.. they need the logpost..
-
Uh, Longringlongland was the whole Davy Back arc and such. It wasn't a filler arc, it was a main plot element. What happened was while following the log pose, they ran into the giant frog and started chasing it. They got turned around and found a seatrain station with Kokoro and Chimney there. Kokoro told them to follow the tracks to Water 7. So technically, they weren't following the log pose when they arrived in Water 7.
As for Drum, the point is they didn't just pull a map out of their butt and find it. The log pose had never set in Little Garden cause it took ONE YEAR to set for the next island (That was skipped). They were relying solely on the Eternal Pose to Alabasta at the time. But Nami got sick, and none of the guys knew how the heck to read the Eternal Pose, so they GOT LOST and ran into Wapol. After Luffy launched Wapol away, they were STILL lost.
They found Drum completely by accident.
-
Luffy will go through the Justice Gate while the rest stayed behind to fight the CP9? That can happen.
-
There's nothing for Luffy beyond the gate.
My impression is that the only thing beyond that gate is a dock and a steamship ferry that goes between Enies Lobby and Impel Down. It's a friggin Calm Belt, remember? It's probably fenced in and everything to keep Seakings out.
-

Ummm… They did follow the log pose.... remember when ao kiji said... their log pose was heading to W7 and he said nearing the HQ...
then when kokoro invited them to the train... nami said that they are using ships and then kokoro asked which directionn the log pose is pointing... nami said east.. and kokoro said its W7 and gave them a map (which turns out to be a scribbled map) and a letter to Iceburg

i think aokiji is going to be the one that is going to bail the strawhats out of this big mess. he is after all testing robin to see how this all turns out. after he see's that robin finally found some nakama he is going to let luffy get off water 7 and go on to his next destination. after that he's probably going to cover up the fact that franky's family, kokoro and other's helped with enie's lobby and just let the strawhat crew take the full blame for the incident.
-
That's an interesting prospect, smurfx.
Could it be that Ao Kiji is testing the strawhats, rather than Robin, though?
That is to say, maybe he tried to get them to abandon her earlier, so that they wouldn't betray her later?
Ao Kiji is NOT a bad guy.
-
Ao Kiji is not a bad guy, but he is not on the straw hats side either, he's on the Navy's, but does goes on a odd tangent when it suits his sense of justice. Like letting Robin lives and not shattering Luffy when he's frozen. At the moment, we have no inkling what's his intention is. But for Luffy to fight him? It's too soon. At this moment, even with gear 2 or 3? Luffy still going to get owned.
-
I was thinking that Aokiji would be waiting for them at Water 7 though it's highly not possible. I was hoping for him to have a long talk with the Strawhats and Iceburg about the Government.
Well, he might be at Enies Lobby after the Strawhats battles to clean up the mess too -
Hi there,
Very interesting topic !
Here's my two cents : I don't remember how long it takes for the log pose to set for the next island from Water7 but I assume it will take a bit of time. They need a ship and I doubt the StrawHats will decide to use a seatrain, even if it's supra cool. It's just not a pirate vessel. In other words, after finishing Enies Lobby, they will become one of the top priorities of the world government. They won't be able to hide in Water7 unless some high ranked punk help them. And that's why I also believe Aokiji as a role to play after they defeat CP9 and Spandam.
I also believe Aokiji to be a good guy because he has a good sense of justice (good from the common point of view).
-
Well.. Interesting
To answer to the guy above me… the log pose is recorded in one week...
But if you assume that Ao Kiji is gonna test either Robin or Straw-Hat crew... then he wont give a bounty to the crews, the Galley-LA members and the Frankies coz he will have to make up stories to cover them up.. unless they agree on the deal that the Frankies and Galley-LA are gonna be freed and the bounty are all gonna be given to them...
-
Well, it seems that everytime the Straw-Hats get involved in a huge battle they save entire nations of people and become heroes. Examples?
- Drum
- Alabasta
- Skypiea
- Water 7 (pending)
There's also the matter of them saving the village that Captain Morgan was overlooking, the Baratie from Don Krieg, and Coco Village from Arlong. Syrup Village could also be included, but they really don't know anything about the situation (or the WG for that matter). So even with their newly declared war against the WG W7's inhabinants, mainly FF GL and Iceburg-san, will be in their complete and utter debt. This will also help add onto the reasons that Franky will join the SH crew, because he owes them so much already.
Now, onto the situation with Ao Kiji at W7, or rather EL. It's possible, but doubtful. If he is there, however, I could see him being in charge of Buster Call 2 (if it is initiated) like he was in during the Ohara one back 20 years ago. Or he could be just waiting for Nico Robin and Cutty Flam's arrival; which also brings up another point:
Will Franky's bounty after EL reflect both his past events against CP5 and the WG/CP9, or just the events at EL?
-
Hmm.. on this last arc (W7).. they are not really saving the entire nation.. its the live of Iceburg that they are saving… although he is the mayor there...
Its not like the whole city will be destroyed if he died... -

Its not like the whole city will be destroyed if he died...Very true, so I guess you could say that W7 really does fall into the section that Syrup Village does. However, once Iceburg recovers and Paulie along with FF and Tom's Workers return to W7 and the news of the SHs is known about across all of the world, then I'm sure Iceburg will make an announcement that the SHs saved his life and the rest of GL. Then the inhabinants of W7 would think of them as saviors, at least in my opinion.

Ah.. now i get your opinion. You mean that in every arc they are the one who are always considered a hero… hehehe.. yeah...
I would really love to see them doing some crime and pirates stuffs. like invading villages and turning it to their base like what arlong did to Nami's village... but it would really be NOT SH anymore...
or maybe the village could be like the bad guy village... >.<:ninja: -

Nah, I don't think that the SH crew would ever take over a town or village and make it their base. I'm waiting, however, for them to enter Merman Island so that they can hand Jenbei a huge ass-whooping. Because, let's face it, once they get there Jenbei is already gonna be pissed about them defeating Arlong and the fact that their bounties will make for a nice addition to his achievements as a Warlord.
-
If the Strawhats took over a village it would be like when Shanks had Luffy's hometown as his base
-

Except Luffy never pillages anything to begin with, so that's why it won't happen.

Who knows but i bet i won't be as cliche as that.
As for Kiji i almost expect him to appear after the fights here, but not to fight.
-

His crew Pillaged Cyandora before they left Skypeia, in case you've forgotten…
-
I could see the bounties for Franky and the SHs not increased as much as you'd think.
The CPx are a secret police. To say they were defeated indicates their existence and will lead to questioning of what they did. Better to keep the bounties low than to have to acknowledge their existence by saying they justified a bounty hike.
Now, once Enies Lobby gets mangled, that might give them an unrelated excuse to "cover" the raise due to the CPx, but that depends on the way bounties are assigned.

How do we know that Jinbei was even a fan of Arlong? Perhaps he relished the opportunity to throw Arlong aside. I could see major clashes in direction if Jinbei's a traditional "moving" pirate.
Fishman Island might be ethically complex. I could see a number of "parties" among the people there: legit Jinbei Pirates, ordinary people, nonpirates who are still racist b*****s, and people who just follow Jinbei as a leader. Do any or all deserve special treatments?
-
I really disagree with the people who think the world government is going to keep the strawhats bounties low after this arc.
The logic they provide would work for any villain, the world government would want to supress the crimes of Shanks and Whitebeard, and so in turn not give them huge bounties. Same with Don Flamingo. By the logic provided that the world government wants to keep the fact that they got owned by someone under wraps so they won't raise bounties much or at all, no pirate in the world would have a huge bounty.
-
As Kokoro said, the Straw Hats are making history. No way they'll have low bounties.
As for Aokiji, I doubt he'll be waiting for them. Too early for a confrontation… and, well, what else would he do? The Straw Hats are now, undeniably, a large threat AND labelled enemy of the World Government. No way he wouldn't try to kill/capture them if they met.
-

It's not that the WG got owned, it's that CPx got owned. You don't want to see questions about CPx. The moment someone asks "What makes Sanji/Franky/Sogeking worth 250 million considering what they did", it becomes dangerous.
-
which was the case after Alabastra, which didn't stop the Gov. from posting huge bounties on Luffy and Zoro.
They don't need to explain themselves to anyone, CP9's existence can easily be covered and the SHs blaimed for attacking a Gov fortress, not an assasination squad. -

Since Luffy declared war on the WG I don't think this is going to muffled away anymore..
This is like the start of the rebellion.. which means Dragon might show up sooner or later too

What about owning all the other publically known CPs? Beating the cp9 isn't what's going to make this big, it's the sacking of Ennies Lobby, and the rescue of two incredibly dangerous "criminals" (Nico Robin and Franky.)
"They invaded Ennies Lobby in order to get their hands on the only person who can ressurect the ancient weapons, they want to destroy the world."
The world government could say something like that.

I think Dragon showing up and bailing SHs out of this mess is more likely than Aokiji. It's a good point you bring up because we are approaching the midway point of OP and I think Oda is going to tie together all these open ended , mysterious characters he introduced in the first half.
-
I can't really see why the WG would put a bounty of any of the Strawhats if they'll call on Busters Call after them. That would just be stupid.
Instead, the Strawhats will get a EVEN HIGHER bounty after they have taken care of BC.
So, if the WG is thinking logical, we won't see some new bounties on our heroes for some time.I can't even imagine what their bounties will be like for taking out all the guys on the sea train, destroying CP9 (which is probably one of the higher parts of WG (not highest, absolutly not), totally crushing EL and taking down something like 10.000 of WG and the Marine's men. Declaring war directly on the WG, reverting two really strong giants from the WGs side (which probably will result in some kind of war between the giants and the WG), rescuing the two people who can bring back the world most dangeorus weapons, AND destroying the WG's strongest attack force, which should be impossible to beat.
I bet Luffy will have some pretty fucked up bounty on him.

It does sound very impressive if you sum it all up like that
