@Greg:
You're saying Jack is undead because he took the curse but the curse was removed. In the second film the only character that should be undead is the monkey.
I refer you to the first film.
Barbossa: Why, thank ye, Jack.
Sparrow: You're welcome.
Barbossa: Oh, not you. We named the monkey Jack.
Jack the Monkey is undead, Captain Jack Sparrow is not.
How he came back? Well, there are a number of mysterious ways he could have been revived…
Again, I think it had something to do with World's End.
Considering the Pearl was already raised from the depths of the sea and has been through plenty of battle damage, in a world with magic like that it doesn't seem unlikely that it could be restored.
I think it's more likely that the only thing holding the Pearl together in the first place was the bargain that Jack Sparrow made in the first place.
Of course, the ship itself could have been cursed in the first film, so the damage it recieved fighting the Interceptor might have been magically repaired when the curse was lifted. I'll have to watch the first one again and see how it looks at the end of the film.
I still say 'End of the Earth' is Asia. If you look on the world map, there wasn't even a Japan. Not to mention the casting choices for the next film.
Considering when this is set, the fact that Japan isn't there probably means that the map isn't finished or this is a world where Japan doesn't exist.
My guess is that World's End is literally that, something akin to the edge of the world that pops up in Hagar the Horrible.
